Ah, thanks Todd, so glad you like it. Yeah, the G2 features are something we're extremely proud of.

I recently got myself a Mark V and the G2 makes it sound great. None of my other amps have an effect loop and using the delays in the effects loop is a world of difference. I am using a Strymon DIG and a the Belle Epoch Deluxe. The slap back from the BED is amazing in the effect loop. I can get very cool reverb like sounds with that unit. The DIG produces even better ambient space tones through the effects loop. Thank you Daniel.

Hi Simon, no probs. In the connections part you'll see the connections from G2's insert to the amp. There are two places the volume pedal can go. My favourite place is directly after the G2 insert send. G2 insert send>volume pedal>amp input. This will control the gain of the amplifier so when you turn the volume pedal down it will act like rolling the volume back on your guitar (sort of). The other place is Amp FX send>Volume pedal>G2 insert return. This will now act like a master volume

I see a few post about cutting down the cable runs if using fx loops. I would recommend the G2 extension kit. Everything at the amp except maybe a volume/wah pedal using 1 midi cable from the foot switcher to your amp(s) BAM!!

Hi, I'd like to know if I need a nose suppressor pedal for The distortions or the girig comes with some kind of noise suppressor it self? If I need a noise suppressor how to connect it?

You seem to understand the 4 cable method pretty well here. I am having trouble placing ANY FX in my Line 6 HD500X while using the 4 cable method. I followed your steps as to place the guitar>pre amp>delay. Still have that over modulated mess of a sound with most FX. Mostly while using the distortion from my head. EVEN after tweeking it a bit. Any clue why? Equipment: Line 6 POD HD50X with Marshall TSL 100 JCM 2000 head. 4 cable method. If you answer I greatly appreciate your time if not, I understand. It is a pretty well loaded question!!! Great video!!

Hi Dan, If I'm using a mix of amp crunch and pedal distortion will it effect the sound at all if I have my reverbs and delays in the FX Loop? I have had one amp where things in the fx loop sound really different depending on if I'm using amp distortion or pedal distortion. I'm hoping to get a Hughes and Kettner Grandmeister 36 so if that makes any difference to my question please do let me know

How do I apply this to a stereo setup using stereo effects into my 2 mono amps? I want to run my eventide h9 and my other stereo effects but this video only solves the problem via a manorial setup. It's driving me CRAZY! HEEEELLLLLLPPPPP!

Can it be set up to bypass an amp's pre-amp, for example if you want to connect a distortion pedal directly to the amp's return? I can put the distortion pedal in the loop, but the amp's preamp would still be in the chain.

I need on of these things! Question though Daniel TheGigRig , could you use the FX loop and run two amps at once as well? I would basically want to use two amps, running 100% of the time, but have delays in the FX loop of one amp, or both if possible.

Oh dear... I bought a joyo plx8 and forgot I need my modulations etc after the amp... I think I'm screwed? Doesn't have the inputs this does.. arghhhg

Can you have multiple entry points for the loop in different presets?

I have two questions. First, if I use the effects send and return with the G2 (the volume insert send and return) is there any way to still use a volume pedal? Second, if the insert point sends everything after it to the effects loop of my amp does that mean that I have to group all of the pedals that I want to send to the effects loop at the end of the inputs/outputs? In other words, I have reverb, delay and chorus that I want to run through the effects loop of my amp. Do they have to be in loops 8, 9 and 10 on the G2 in order to do that? I assume they do since I didn’t see anything in this video about setting an end point for the volume insert loop.

So that means with the G2 you have to choose whether or not you will have a Volume pedal in the signal chain or have a delay in the Fx loop? BTW TYVM for all the videos and the incredible wealth of knowledge you share!

When I do the 4cm with my Randall RM100 i get virtually no signal whatsoever, very odd indeed, tried Serial and Parallel loops too

in the G2 FAQ it says to use a HumDinger/isolated output into the amp. what is the purpose of this/is it necessary?

Dear Daniel, if you connect the G2 to an amp's FX loop using this method does it compromise G2's other assets? i.e. because this functionality is directly connected to the post gain amplifier will you no longer be able to have trails/spillovers or other features to do with the mixer?

if i change any setting in stompbox, will it affect all setting? for example: if i set bank 1 delay at 20%, then in bank 2 i would like to set delay to 50%, will it change the bank 1's delay setting?

Ok, the G2 gives us a possibility to use 2 amps (since its has 2 outputs). But how can i put some of the pedals into the effects loops of BOTH amps? G2 has only one send&return for that...

I've wired it up like this and have no control over the volume. Just loud even when amps volume is off. ??

Is it possible to reduce in a smart way the number of cables? Using a snake or a custom cable maybe.

Hi Dan, how do you get more than one effect in the fx loop? is it a case of when you're choosing say you hold down 6, everything from 7-10 with be in the loop, or hold down 2 and everything from 3-10 will be in the loop etc? or do you just choose which effects you want by choosing say 2, 6, 10 etc? Hey Daniel, Is their a way this kind of routing can be easily integrated into a wet, dry, wet rig? Also I have a number of pedals with expression inputs but would like to use no more than two i'm currently using live. Is their an easy way with any switching/selector boxes I could plug the expression pedals into and then chose where they get sent? Even better still if this could somehow be controlled by G2.

Isn't the FX Loop on any amp a major feature and one of the cornerstones of using an amp with FX? I really don't see why the G2 seems to treat this as an afterthought and tacks on this major functionality into "the volume pedal" insert? With the workaround you mentioned, doesn't this fly in the face of the core competency of the G2? Should have a dedicated Amp FX Loop, in fact, it would be a major good thing to have 2 of these for stereo amp setups. For this kind of money this should come as standard. Absolutely crazily, insanely expensive when compared to the functionality and complexity of Strymon etc. pedals (Van Wheedon, Neo, Eventide) Just my humble opinion.
