Do you go off of Milady’s steps? I’m practicing now and there isn’t an exfoliating step and the steps in the book are different: warm towels to face and décolleté, remove eye and lip makeup (different technique than shown), cleanse, steam (skip extractions), massage, mask, tone, and finally moisturize/spf. We are getting tested this way at my school but I want to make sure that is what state board is expecting. My instructor is not as thorough as this and during COVID it’s hard to get hands on practice. I appreciate any help! Great informative video. :)

Do you know if SC similar to GA? I can't find any South Carolina videos so I'm just watching the states I can find and bringing everything to be prepared. It says on my form that an additional section is hard wax, but I'm not sure if I will really have to use a warmer and do a hard wax application. Better to be safe than sorry I guess! I'm doing my reciprocity and they don't give you much to go on!

You prepared your client and then set up universal supplies and basic facial supplies all in one section. Can you clarify? Thanks

I am also wondering, If I chose to use squeeze bottles and dispense on a 2x2 rather than out of a lid container with a spatula (to cut down on throwing away a spatula and sanitizing hands and potentially dropping liquid off my hands lol), is that an option as long as the bottle lid does not touch the 2x2 in the process. And is water not necessary anymore? It seems like you do every step dry for the most part. Sorry for the overload of questions!! and thank you for your time.

Just to make myself feel better, we should come with drawn brows on our mannequin heads correct? Or when do we apply our brows to our mannequin heads. I never got any type of state board training at my school.

The bags for trash , soiled linens , and to be disinfected does it have to be plain bags or can I use the paper Trader Joe’s bags even though the logo is on there ?

Okay i have a question. So on part 1 “work area prep and set up” it says to prepare your work area, set up univeral supplies, and supplies for a basic facial. Then part 2 is “client prep and basic facial. And that says “you will prepare your client for services” So do u bring your mannequin out the bag and set her up at part 2 or part 1? Because im a little confused with that part because you set the mannequin up in part 1.

When applying products , can you use a pallet instead of the back of your hand ?

Are gloves a requirement now? If we choose to use gloves would we just change them with every step?

Can you choose to just specialize in facials only, or do you have to complete the all procedures??

I’m confused why you sanitize each time a applicator is tossed in the trash as long as you don’t touch or hit the bag is that truly necessary? I feel as though it would mix the product with your germ x and or your hands would smell like germ x and not the product making it unpleasant to smell as a client receiving the service.
