This week I made the parts for the pushrods. In this video you can see the design and how I made the parts on the lathe and milling machine.

Thanks for watching! I need your help for the next couple of video's, what would you like to see? 1 - Do you prefer short build video's that do not contain too much explanation? 2 - Would you like to see a video where I explain more of the tought that went into the designs? 3 - Are you interested in the how I made the CAD models?

What was your reason for lengthening the push-rods? Doesn't that decrease your build volume, and increase the weight of the moving parts?

Hello Dru, my apologies for the delayed reply! I totally forgot to do so. The reason for the increased length is the increased XYZ resolution (mostly X and Y) and the decreased motor RPM (and pushrod travel speed) required when printing at the edge (XY) of the print area. You are right, it does indeed increase the weight a bit (but only a few grams, those carbon fiber rods are not that heavy) and unfortunately it does decrease the maximum printing height by about 10cm. It is well worth the sacrifice in my opinion! I will put it on my to-do list for the next printer video as a subject to explain a bit further with some examples. Would you be interested in that?

Hey guys thanks for watching! I will share the plans and files of the printer when it's done. There is still a lot that I change during the build so it is very likely that If I would share plans now they would not match the machine. But don't worry, I will publish them!
