@@jaimetoquia3059 people take pictures and then use them to pretend to be students of his. Thats probably why he said no pictures. He wants to control the narrative. And who could blame him. As to turning his back on you, how many times did he explain it to you? maybe he was pushed for time with everyone else in attendance? some insturtucrs teach like that, its just a fact of life unfortunately. Others are way more giving with their time.

Here's somthing for ya! We are all climbing different paths through the mountain of life. We have all experienced much hardship and strife. Some paths are short, others are long. Who can say which paths are right or wrong? The beauty of the truth is that each path has it's own song, and if you listen closely you will find where you belong. So climb your own path, true and strong, but respect all other paths, for your way for them, could be wrong. - Dan Inosanto

Sadly, those teachers who where rounded up by the Japanese and sent to japan for their so called "Exhibition of Arts" where never to be seen or heard again, Filipino's can't be easily fooled, its just they are too friendly and trusting that others make use of that kindness and abuse it.

guro inosanto should be given due recognition by the phil govt for preserving the filipino martial arts and continuosly practising ang teaching the kali it should be incorporated into the AFP PNP TRAINING and even in elem as a P.E class up to collrge it would be good for developing a better citizen because it instill discipline to the person this should had been done long ago by the govt. a book must be publish about kali and all its guro be given due recognition. all the guros may as well be the resource person in writing the book. this is a very important to us filipinos in our struggle against invaders.

Grand Master Leo Giron helped organized the armed resistance in the Philippines against the Japanese in WW2. He served in the US Army. So, yeah. Dan Inosanto's eskrima/arnis teacher perfected his techniques with the blood of Japanese soldiers, bayonets, and katanas. This anecdote is most likely true.

Hope you realize that hearsays aren't factual proofs right? And I'm not saying hearsays are necessarily lies but human memory and interpretations of events and reality aren't 100% reliable so taking these as proof is not a good idea imo

The Japanese did similar things to the martial artists in Taiwan too. Taiwan was a Japanese colony from 1895 to 1945, and they forbade the locals from practicing Chinese martial arts while secretly disposing of martial artists that they viewed as potential threats. One story I heard involves Japanese soldiers threatening a master at gun point, injecting him with a tranqualizer, and putting him on a boat back to China. He ended up dying during the trip because they gave him too much tranqualizer.

This is the first time I've ever heard that Filipinos were in the 442nd Regiment that fought in Europe during WW2. It makes sense since the 442nd was a Hawaii based regiment and all Filipinos know that Hawaiians are really Filipinos. I heard in other videos on this topic that Karate is really a Filipino original martial art. Maybe the Japanese captured those FMA leaders and took them back to Japan and forced them to teach other Japanese soldiers. Then the Japanese gave it their own name, Karate. That must be how Karate got to Japan.
@dakomata9090

They're teaching Karate and are introducing it to the public so most of the population will be discouraged to train in other Martial arts because it is deadly, you don't want thousands of Martial artists coming at you like bees. Don't underestimate how scummy humans can be

Filipino Bolo (machete) had shorter range than the very long Katana, wouldn't match against the Katana Kendo-style, that would be suicide but penetrate to get inside with the shorter bolo, Japanese soldier is dead - approximately same method Roman Gladius versus Long Sword. I don't doubt the Japanese Army killed Filipino masters, they did the same thing in China, Korea and Indonesia- martial artist were targeted and killed.

the local researchers of FMA here in PH like Torqui dojillo, Professor Felipe Jocano of UP diliman, Celestino macachor and James U. sy jr already debunked GM inosantos death ship claims as there were no records or other surviving testimonials to support his claim, in fact as James U. Sy Jr said (go to his youtube Culture Nurture) there were eskrima GMs who were imprisoned but set free by the Imperial army. Good thing here in PH we got The Filipino Martial Arts Forum private fb group where there are native Pinoy scholars to debunk kali claims like these.

I wonder. How good is Dan Inosanto really? I mean, in demonstrations he looks great one on one with a student. But, martial artists like Dan don't compete usually. Or many don't. And if they were in actual real life combat none of it has ever been documented. In photos of filmed. We have the tech to do so. Bruce Lee never competed. Thus he was never documented being tested. Vs. guys who focused on full-contact martial arts...e.g. American kickboxing, Pancrase....etc.). Or non full contact...but still competed and became state, national or world champions. Like Benny "the Jet" Urquidez. Bill "Superfoot" Wallace, Joe Lewis...undeniable.
