man, he was so ahead of his time, I have been alive for 67 years and there has never been another as Raw an unbridled as Hank. He had a short music career. I can only imagine what he could have completed had he not passed away.
I've read things that suggest he was about done with the music business anyway. Something about finishing up the obligations he already had in that department, taking a trip to the Caribbean to get cleaned up, and coming back to be a preacher and father to what would have been his two kids by that point.
And all the great musicians today are playing older covers because it’s the best. But if we were to break out of that mindset , start writing and bring new classic country to the world we could keep country alive. Build our own towers.
When I was a young fella, I left my Nova Scotia home on my old Harley. I rode to every place Hank ever walked. I rode up to his grave sight. I expected there would be a big crowd, The crowds were gone. there was just Hank and me and old Nelly Bell. (that was my bikes name), God I love that man.
I wish I could go to all the places you've been as I am a huge Hank Williams Sr fan. But with my only being 17, I guess I'll have to wait on going to as many country music history sites as I can until I'm older, by the way, is your bike named after the jeep from the Roy Rogers Show?
That's cool though on the topic of bikes I don't think my mother would approve of me ridding a motorcycle through the mountains to college and back she calls them donorcycles as many do
Amen Brotha! Ppl visit INFOWARS COM OR THEALEXJONESCHANNEL HERE ON YT! ITS FOR YOUR OWN GOOD, THEN YOU'LL SEE HOW REAL AMERICANS LIKE HANK SR REALLY ARE STILL AROUND, AND TELLIN' THE GOVERNMENT TO MIND THEIR OWN BUSINESS!!! GOD BLESS ALL!!!
he was the greatest ever!! it didnt matter if was a sad, funny, gospel, heart song he could do em all it didnt matter what it was he was scary good and a TRUE legend.
@@whatnow2626I mean, it has sound quality that suggests that, buuuuut it has way too much fiddle and steel guitar to have been cut yesterday, sadly. 🙁
I would love to play this for my classmates, as they always want to know every detail of how I got each scar, scratch, bruise, and busted bone I have on my body from working with livestock, and if I don't tell them I get questioned by the counselors. Why can't we all save some time and annoyance by just following ole Hank's advice and mind our own business?
Been working the fields and cattle since I was little always hard work no play until night time.. been out of the house for a good 5 years now always go home bout once a month to work my ass off you can take the cattleman away from the cattle but it's still in ur veins no matter what ya do be proud of it
@marketprince4767 Mark, no doubt about it. But even had Hank lived to see that early, mid-60s blast of Rock N' Roll, which had been evolving for decades, it was just a fork in the evolution of music. Not necessarily a road Hank would have taken, or ever seen. If Hank had lived, (just my opinion) the so-called birth of R&R may have been delayed. Hank left a void that inherently would have to be filled. Had he been given another ten years, before he would even reached (40), his direction would have dictated the overall projection of music. Hell, we could arguably/easily add Jimmie Rogers to this thought. Mark, thank you for highlighting the obvious for many oblivious.
I can remember as a teenager listening to all of his music and just taking his lyrics for granted,, truly the Mozart of Country music and a true legend.
+ronaldt491 yes I remember that! cool multiple hookups were arranged by the 'operator' you picked up a phone and a living woman's voice would say 'number please',.. and there were no cell towers, and WIFI and government spies, hackers, rules and bureaucratic nightmares!
+darkshark two big problems with them were, as Hank said you could listen in on private conversations(in fact cell phone owners may not know it but you can do that with a scanner) also if you have a long winded person on and you reallly needed to use the phone you couldn't get them to hang up so you could use it.
It looks like he's deep into it, doesn't it, Strangerhand? Just shows the genius of old Hank, friend. He wrote timeless tunes with a deep understanding of human nature.
If I’m trying to pick up my attitude a little I turn on this recording! Great old fashioned country! My dad is listening up there someplace! He taught me to appreciate country music! Listen to those musicians play! Great!
The pedestal guitar, the guitar, the violines and the southern drawl of Hank Williams' voice when he sings you can't get anymore American than that!! This is what real music should sound like not this utter garbage they play on the radio today.
my nosey grouchy old neighbor was complaining one morning cuz I was playing music on my front porch so I found this song on RU-vid and turned it up real nice and loud just for him
I realize he had a skinny sick body, but he sounds like if he had to, he would scrap & lay down the fists. you can hear it in his voice at the start. he has that old school straight up tone in his voice. korean war ww2 generation. You rarely hear that tone anymore. It was regional but potent in this nation during that era.
Im 14 and this is my favorite Artist i mean Hes the Legend Not Merle Not George. Hank was And for what he did and from where he came from in just 29 short years well thats a hero to me.
im pretty young im only 18, But Hank Williams is one of my favorite country singers, I like old country better then the new crap we have today. I think the world would become a better place if people started listening to this kind of music rather then the nonsince we have today. But that's none of my buissness lol.
i know lots of people that could benefit from hearing this song......yall normal folks call it facebook....l.o.l. i know this gonna get me a lot hate comments...
+georgiaridgerunner 79 Hank...you mean to tell me that there is this here computer thing called Facebook where people tell everybody their business? Yes Hank it is......Lord have mercy the world has become a awful dark place ain't it. Oh Hank you haven't heard the half of it yet!!
+Keith Sowell Yeah i agree bubba the old timers would have a coniption if they knew the things that are accepted in modern society..... funny thing is these kids on the net wouldnt understand what one was trying to politely tell them with this song
This music never went no-where, the world just got older. This music will always be here. Come tomorrow and the day after it's still here. Infact all of these great old country songs will be hear long after me and you are long gone and dead.
I call this the "Hairdresser's mantra" I Always stopped the gossip- today T.v. has assumptions- news has- verbal ploys- politicians don't know who we really are- Cuz- THEY DON'T "MIND" THEIR OWN "BUSINESS"-==>that's US!

90% of rock n roll is derived from country, which is derived from the blues, which is 3 - 5 core cords. It will really drive you nuts when you start recognizing it EVERYWHERE. The 12 bar blues is literally the god particle of music.
old hank sr nailed this one. hit the nail right on the head. dont worry bout what i am doing. just mind your own business four words that if at least half the world lived by. we probaly have a world pretty close to perfect
Had this on an album that got broke somehow classic Hank Williams song the real King of country music. Where sings if I get my head beat black & blue that's my wife and my stove wood to that on the studio album is the classic song I love it first heard this on a CD I bought long time ago I have many Hank Williams albums they're older than I am and I'm 57 years old and they were my daddy's he's still alive God bless him and he can let me have them I still play them God bless you maybe we'll meet and if it's the good Lord's willing and the Creeks don't rise
I'm trying to get my own neighbors to be able to mind their own business as well but they are so nosey it's unbelievable to me that they are so jealous of me and my own business as usual lol ty for the greatest songs ever from my favorite singer of all time
Good ear and you would be correct. What George Thorogood and the Destroyers did was record a 'cover version' of Mind Your Own Business in 1978 and called it Move It On Over. At the time, Thorogood plucked the song up because it appealed to him and figured it would be a decent filler for his live concerts. Never in his dreams did he foresee the windfall the song would bring. The song became such hit with audiences that it overshadowed everything else he was working on at the time. It became the center piece for his second album and was credited for making him a lot of success (financially and socially).
Was only 3 yrs. old and I remember it blearing from our RCA Home Entertainment Center (radio)! My Mom would shake her index finger in my face and tell me to "MIND MY OWN BUSINESS"! Have been doing that for 7 decades - thanks Hank!!! To this Ol' Boy, Hank will always give Bob Wills a run for his money as to who will always be the KING!
GOOD IDEA. JUST THINK IF EVERYONE IN THIS NOSY COUNTRY WOULD DO THAT, INSTEAD OF TALKING ABOUT OTHERS, THEY WOULD HELP OTHERS, ITD BE A LOT NICER. AND I ALWAYS DO MIND MY OWN BUSINESS UNLESS I SEE A CHILD ,PERSON OR ANIMAL BEING HURT THEN IT BECOMES MY BUSINESS.
