Honda ain't the only one that pulls that little trick , glad you showed him with such humbleness . Hey man keep up the great vids I get a kick out of em every time 🤣👍👍🇺🇸
I knew about the one in the carburetor, that you showed in an earlier video. But I didn't know there was one inside the tank. I learn a lot from your tips, thanks!
i got a briggs 16.5 single . on the mower tag it lists a oil filter number, but i dont see a filter on the engine. im wondering if its inside somewhere like a motor cycle or something ,but i dont see nowhere it could be.
Omg I am so happy that I found your video. I’ve been looking and searching my ass of for the past hour to find anything that looked like the filters in al the other video’s. Just now to find out that it’s in my thank. Greatfull to learn from small things like this. ❤
That is a lot nicer than the old Honda mower I had years ago. You had to fish the straw filter out of the fuel line, what a pain but at least putting the new one back was a snap.
I thought it was just a prefilter... I clean it as best I can and put it back, though once easily removed a new one can't be that expensive, so, why not? One thing I do is to clean the tank as much as possible before putting it all back together. You are so correct about the water starting the corrosion process. I use a bit of Marvel Mystery Oil in the first tank of gasoline to slow it down after cleaning the tank. We all have to be aware of ethanol in the pump gas as it is hydrophilic. Prevention is the best thing.
This sounds like what I may be looking for. I was about to order a new air filter on Amazon, but was browsing through the sets, and well, I see a set that is for my exact model, but has TWO fuel filters. After watching the video, I thought it may have been an optional in-line one he spoke about, but your comment is making me think otherwise. It's not the screen style like this one... I would describe it as having accordian-style folds that form a cylinder. Its contained in a clear canister and the top and bottom have the fittings that would accommodate a fuel hose. I'm going to check out his other video if I can find it...
@@heidis8713 Not sure which video MowerMedic showed this, but here is one from Steve's small engine saloon. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cK-i1QjwN5M.html DonnyBoy also talked about it.
@@cpcoark thank you so much for the link to Steve's video. I did his carburetor clean out. Turns out the filter in the Amazon bundle was a lawnmower fuel filter. 🙃
I have had the same experience myself, but the person who said that honda (and the various clones) don't have a fuel filter did not call me a dumbass. At least you knew about it, so who is the dumbass now? Keep up the great videos and don't let idiotic comments bother you.
Well imagine that, the guy that works in this stuff for A LIVING actually knows what he’s talking about! Weird Seriously though, good stuff, I love watching your videos!
Hi. I am not a mechanic but have learned a lot in the last 20 years having to have my equipment fixed. My fairly new Honda GX 270 keeps bogging out and the first thing I thought was that the fuel filter was clogged. Now realizing that that’s not normal and a problem, I’m wondering how do I know if my fuel filter needs to be replaced without taking off the whole tank?
I have a ChoreMaster power washer with a Honda GCV160 engine. No fuel was getting to carb so I checked all the fuel lines for a clog all the way to removing line from the gas tank. There's just a drip or two when I poke a poker through the nipple hole (yes, there's enough new fuel in the tank). Nothing removable from the outside (the nipple is part of the tank) Can't find anything online about a filter accessible inside the tank, but the poker stops cold after a few inches and the opening is not visible inside the tank. There is something in the bottom of the tank, but no obvious way to remove it. It has a yellow emblem that looks kind of like a fish. Thanks in advance for any advice.
i have a one year old Honda lawnmower, it doesn't start anymore. has good spark i cleaned the carb, sometimes it start but then shut down. took it to Northern tool they did the same cut the grass two times not starting again.. NT said Carburetor need cleaning again??? 😳 can you tell me what it could be
Northern tool is not the place to go for small engine repair, you need to find you a good reputable Honda dealership. There are a lot of variables at play here, if it only mowed two times then I would say the gas that you poured in it probably has water and is old. you need to get rid of all your old fuel re-clean the carburetor and start from scratch. if it’s still dies after that then I would hook a spark tester to the coil and check for spark. Also check your fuel cap and make sure it is venting there has to be something simple that you’re missing
Perhaps I was to quick to criticize, I was thinking a Honda Civic vehicle. Please confirm, where and what this fuel tank came from. Please and thank you!
Tank didn't have a cap on it when you took that out now it's got a cap on it what kind of a f****** tank is it I'm about to agree with the other guy that made the comment
😂😂😂😂 that person is a dumb was for sayin something if he didn't know ...... this guy say talk about the filter because he was sure and he was 100% sure and i knew it myself that most small engines has the filters in the tank
