Amazing expansion, having LF Sounders is the best thing for a house since they wake people up faster, about the candela thing you said earlier where you never saw people change it, ideally you want to set the candela appropriately to the size of the area, in your case of 15 in the bedrooms and 75 in the hallways it’s perfect
i genuinely wanna do this for a future home with my parents and i will reside in, especially since imo, it's much safer and more tolerable than the average smoke alarm in every household. i even got ths inspiration from my dad as he works on fire alarms and fire extinguishers. props to you. ❤
You are the only one on youtube, posting so much and good content of fire alarms und security systems (also with installation). Please keep on doing it as long as you can. I am watching all of your videos.
Thanks for another great video. Please excuse the "dumb" question as we don't have these combo sounders/lights in Australia. Do they use a xenon flash tube or LED? Our commercial systems use a Emergency Warning and Intercommunication System or EWIS System as part of the alarm system. They have two tones over a dedicated PA system, being a beep beep for "alert" and a whoop whoop for "evacuate". There's a time delay between the two. These can also have voice announcements for each, and a microphone at the panel for PA. The lights are two colours, orange for alert, and red for each, if used. This is a simplified explanation. Lol.
I love how clean and organized your system is. At my place of employment our panels and organization of what does what and what each building has are terrible. When pressure washing the floors the mist that comes off will set off the alarms.
It's pretty cool that you're allowed to have a commercial grade fire alarm system to protect your house! Has more to offer than a standard residential smoke alarm system
I find it hilarious how you have a full on fire alarm system in your house with horn strobes in every room. Guess you can never be too safe. Lol dont get me wrong though, I also think it's awesome that you have such a passion for fire alarms, and that your parents allow you to hse their home as a test bench. 😂
Well yes our old set up wasn't working everyone in the house would rather have a reliable system than the residential ones that went off every time you cooked so it needed a replacement of some kind might as well do one that others can enjoy and I can make videos
Awesome video. If you don’t mind me asking though, why did you choose Low Frequency Sounder Strobes over the normal L Series horn strobes? EDIT: I also noticed in the rough-in video that you sliced the drywall below the hallway sounder… I also always accidentally damage the drywall during electrical installs and what do I do? I leave it for the painters to deal with.
Low frequency devices are designed for sleeping areas to wake sleeping occupants much better that is the whole purpose for why they are made. They also are less annoying and don't bug the dogs as bad.
in the USA, more specifically California what are the requirements for this type of system in a house? I installed a similar system in my house a while back with system sensor HR horns in each bedroom and a wheelock AH weatherproof horn on code 3 outside full volume. Is this against any rules or does anything need to be changed? Also wanted to note that the panel i use is a burg/fire combo which is a Napco Gem-P3200 which came with my house but is being replaced with a new one later this month because it is too old. Let me know what you have to say, thanks!
I have so many bad memories from these types of alarm ( the regular one that kind of scream) They are so loud which is that we need at my first school since it was a school for deaf and hard of hearing people....
Did the house come pre-installed with the box mounts? How could I set this up in my own house, where can i get a panel and a sounder but one that sounds like a hospital tone
System Sensor is pretty good too. What I can also tell by the video is that you are using Xenon discharge strobes. When System Sensor releases their LED strobes, have you thought about using a few?
@@chadrowland5234 they are just coming out and it will probably be longer until low frequency versions are out not a huge fan of their appearance but any new install I would likely use them but I wouldn't go replace what's already installed
Are LED strobes brighter than conventional Xenon discharge strobes? Or are they they the same brightness? I ask because, I use LED strobes outdoors and under skylights. I only Xenon discharge strobes inside.
