Whoever told you to go there should just dig their own grave. Turkey leg hut fell off when the owners started to care more about how to pay off their luxury items vs how their food taste.
Whattttttt???? The place only been opened for what 6 7 years and they fell off that quick...smh wow.... well then she used to be lawyer sooo.. you know they beyond their meaning... 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️. And Cajun hah? Haha! Always taking my hometown New Orleans food and they're creating off a creation already.. and fukin it up... the salmon is not tender?.what?
You are probably right, that's when I started seeing all the hype about this place online. I've never been there but I wanted to go because of all of the good reviews in the past. That's why I asked him to do the review there before I go. I live in Little Rock Arkansas and I wanted to make sure it was worth the trip.
@rthomas1337 Yes, there was a news clip about it. They have a food truck available outside, and you can wait in line without the fee, but it's like a 2 hour wait. So the reservation cash app prevents the wait but they say you still wait. It goes towards your bill. It's still wild to pay 100 for the reservation.
@@calicojonesreloaded2886 I don't know them. They probably are, I'm giving my opinion of their public responses to criticism or any statements or incidents that have made the public news regarding their establishment. I did say they have options regarding the cash app.
Wow… seems a lot of things about Houston are over hyped. I’ve lived here a decade from Chicago and definitely think there are better places to live. I stay here mostly because of family.
Thank you so much for that review. I've been waiting on this review for a while now. Now I have my answer. Stay at home and fix my own damn turkey legs.😂
@@JustChivon my sister and I was talking about this last night and I agree on what she said while we was watching the video. When there is not another restaurant that that people can go to ... who sell the same kind of dishes like The Turkey Leg then the guy Mr. Chime Time can't compare... and there's many restaurants that don't have the same dishes... so how can you compare? Many wing places, many BBQ places.. but that's about it besides authentic Mexican restaurants... 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
Thank you! You just saved me some more money when I travel to Houston. Can you please try Trill Burgers before you leave Houston? The world wants to know.
Exactly, and they boiled the flavor right on out of them. Turkey legs are fantastic smoked or slow roasted, they literally take care of themselves for the most part.
Turkey legs take forever to cook tender lol. How do expect them to have a whole restaurant surrounded by them without streamlining ? They'll get it together..
@@ShandaP018 But... it's a restaurant, not a logistics business. Good tasting food is their whole job. If the logistics is getting in the way of the food, then their priorities aren't in order. But I am biased, just cause I don't like their weird ass dress code.
I've been there once, when they first opened. It was ok but not good enough to be waiting in line more than 30 minutes for a table. Bump that. I approve his review.
This is the one I’ve been waiting for! My guy always come through 💪🏾. Now when I finally go to TLH my expectations won’t be so high . Thanks for the review
Lynn somewhere punching the air right now. They need to step they game up and get back to the ORIGINAL food consistency. Hopefully this was a reality check.
And Baaby!? I DO MEAN EVERYTHING IS ALL GOOD!!.. I miss that boudin fasho.Dont you know they sell boudin for $8/link here in Houston..they be trying too hard😂😂😂
Not sure what you're talking about since fairs can easily sell tens of thousands of turkey legs with people lined up. The issue though is those turkey legs usually suit the occasion as being hand held food that you can walk around with so in a restaurant setting it doesn't make sense to emphasize it.
@JustChivon I think the growing popularity has made the quality of service for them drop across a lot of fairs. You see it a lot, for example your cidars and "Wizards' Ale" at Renaissance Fairs used to be awesome but now they're basically just Barq
Finally somewhere I have been. They had a "pop up" in my area for a minute. The line and wait was always crazy long. I agree with you 💯...I couldn't believe THAT was what all the hype was about. I think about a month later the line faded and so did the "pop up".
So, I have ate at the TLH a couple of times. I’m not such a big fans of turkey legs itself, but TLH is good. Yes, it’s true, it’s a little overrated and pricey. (Parking and dining there is another discussion). My fav at TLH is the Henny-glazed wings and Cajun bowl. Usually, I tell them no salmon, because that bowl has flavors all over the place and the salmon is adding too much. Without the salmon, the Cajun bowl hits. The fries I have officially got tired of. Overall, it’s a good place!
$150 ? My Turkey Legs better come out break dancing or something 😂😂😂 Yeah , i think its somewhat over rated too. I'm sure some of the foods on menu are good but the turkey legs need a little work . Maybe deep fried then stuffed ? Deep fried turkey legs are super good ! Enjoyed your honest review 💯 👍🏼
Cause different people value different things. Id say majority of Houston restaurant and places arent really hyped because of the food. I think its more for the atmosphere and vibe. I think 80% of their customers go there for the experience and the chance that you see some famous person there. Its not abnormal to pull up there and spot Drake & co in a corner smoking hooka and chilling. I think thats why people go there. And some people want that.
Turkey Leg Hut serves up hot plates of dumpster juice all day every day. Lol. That shit is nasty. Ate there 3 different times, and they failed in every aspect of the dining experience.
Thanks Boo, you made me feel better, bc when I was in Texas, I felt bad, bc I didn’t get to go, now I am okay, bc I know one thing, if you say it’s not good, then you can bet on it, much love from Maringouin, a little town in Louisiana ❤️❤️❤️
@@wccc2269 yeah im sure the alfredo sauce is cool. Doesnt mean it aint the most ludicrous food dish created. Shrimp and cream sauce stuffed into a turkey leg bro?
@@alexethan4480 I had it 3 times. It was really good. This was right before the pandemic when they smoked their Turkeys really good. I mean how many times have we seen crazy food mixes?? Plenty of times 😆 I’m from the boot, I know good food bro. Trust me.
Damn! So many people recommended this place in the comments on your last few videos. Sorry that it didn't live up to the hype Chime. Hopefully the next place you visit is better! 😊
When they first started, they were really good. But I think the recognition they got from the media went to their heads. That's why the quality has been slowly declining each year.
All I’ve been seeing are comments begging this man to go to turkey leg hut and now he tried it and trashed everybody talkn bout idk who told him to go there 😂
One of my girls and I drove from FL to New Orleans last year and from there, she wanted to go to Houston to get this infamous Turkey Leg. She talked about the Turkey Leg Hut for days and after she had it, I didn't hear another word. Ha! There was nothing on the menu for me to eat. It all looked like garbage and was definitely overpriced. 👎
You just showing out. I love it!!! You know you can talk about the food that's what I be listening for. You are too funny. You eat so carefully not to waste FOOD on your clothes ❤. CONTINUE TO BE GREAT ON PURPOSE 😂❤😊
A restaurant needs to let you adjust a dish to make it what you think it needs and change it to see if it works..thats what I do to ppl food that I get and don't like.."kick it up a notch"
@@melissaleoncreolenola lol….are you talking about yourself? Because why would I be in my feelings? You’re the one harassing ppl in the comments, hope u do have ties to the restaurant the way you’re caping.
@@tiffyq7794 are you done bruh? Don't come after me cause of what's going on this post.. it is what it is..let it go.. I'm not up here telling the business of what's going on with the owners of the Turkey Leg Hut ... so why I'm being attacked? ask a dumb @$$ questions like Am I the owner? I don't care....why are you asking me a question when I don't know what's going with the owners and their business but it's obviously everybody else in Houston does.. so backlash at them abd leave me the F alone... you're annoying... I don't care
@@marieclay1981Houston like the new Dubai. Everything overpriced and overhyped. A bunch of out of towners from shitty cities so of course Houston gonna be lit to them lol
Well, I'm going to stick with eating Turkey once a year. Can't wait until November gets here 😂😂. I'm from the Northwest side of Houston, and I rarely go too downtown. Thanks for saving me a trip to downtown.
Bro honesty is undefeated cause I already know he gon take heat for this review. Not a huge fan of leg meat so I can’t judge but it looked decent enough. I’ve heard so much about this spot… can’t wait to read the comments😳
Another place I pass up almost everyday, and now I will never go in lol. I see too many people hype this place up. It looks good but I'll pass thanks again chimetime!
Comments on Houston videos before this review: you have to go to turkey leg hut! Turkey leg hut the best! When is Turkey leg hut? Comments on this video: turkey leg hit overrated. Turkey leg but use to be good but not now Why y’all sending this man to the mid joints? This ain’t the MID west
lol yeah I agree. When ppl ask me about how it was i always say..."at the end of the day its just a turkey leg...and its not stuffed it has topping on top of it" . The topping as so salty i couldnt really eat alot of it.
Bless you for going thru the torture.. I wondered about that place.. I thought those legs were smoked.. looks more like they were boiled then roasted in the oven..
@@2KGrind09 vibes doesn’t make food taste good 😂 I made crawfish fettucine for my job once and they ate it cold and I still won the cooking contest.. flavor matters.. no matter where he ate it or if it was cold it still taste the same..
Criticism is the part of any industry that an owner should appreciate. One should listen, evaluate and make decisions accordingly if needed. When the owner is living loudly the business is sure to suffer. I have experienced TLH for myself and felt the experience didn’t live up to the hype. However, I encourage the curious to try it for themselves. This is the same thing that Chime encourages you to do as well. #verifieddiner
@texasplayboy23 They have a food truck next to the restaurant that serves hot food to go. You don’t have to wait in that hours long line or make reservations for it. Just walk up and order.
I’m glad you’re honest!!! If you wait in line for subpar uber expensive food your crazy. People from Houston can tell you that. They just go because of the possible celebrity sitings.
Damn and I was planning to go to Houston and try them and Bun B Trill burgers spot in a couple of months but I’m second guessing about the turkey hut now.🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
