It is almost a given and some would argue it is the most important interview question you need to be prepared to answer. And if you want to get hired at Costco, you will need to be prepared to answer this question for them as well. I have been interviewed by Costco 7 times and was turned down on everyone. I am not a quitter and know in life you don't always succeed on the first try. But after 7 that's it. It's too bad I know I would have been a great employee there if I was given the chance but I was unwanted there. I am not going to waste anymore of my time.

@@Omardottcom i did in fact one of the interviews I had to wait a whole hour and i still didn't get the job. My last interview they told me they were turning me down because some of my answers were too broad. I was like you're never going to interview anyone who gives every answer exactly they way you want.

I START MY FIRST DAY (ORIENTATION/ first official hired day) THE 27TH🎉 Thank you, Ben. Without your videos I wouldn’t have been as confident/ prepared. Not sure how other Costco managers/ employees are when it comes to interviews but mine weren’t sugar coating anything, came in with questions wanting full depth, and pushed to hear more and more. One HUGE piece of advice is memorize their mission statement/ code of ethics and mention them both when asked “Why Costco?” Play it up big, they’ll love it.

Me too!! I also start on the 27th! And it’s thanks to this guy and some other videos as well as research of the company. They mostly want to know about your past work experience and how that will apply to Costco .

Ben , great video! I have been working at Costco for one year and eight months. I feel extremely lucky. Because it is extremely competitive and a lot of people apply. The way I answered the question : Why do you want to work for Costco? Because Costco offers great pay , great benefits and Costco has a wonderful reputation of treating their employees really well. And that is extremely important to me.

If you get hired at the food court, reject it. It’s a terrible department. Plus it’s not 24 hours you’ll get a week. They want you to do a rush job, so they don’t have to pay you the whole 24.

@@reelsteven3544 so I passed the 1st round interview and they said something about having combined the 2nd round into my 1st round. So anyways, my second interview was with a higher level management employee-one of the assistant managers or something. This is who will interview you in the 3rd round. I don't think she liked me very much, she just asked me 1 question. "Why would I be better at the job than everybody other potential candidate." I wasn't happy with my answer. Hope this helps. It's better to be over prepared by the way. I'm just a little rusty right now but I have found a job elsewhere. Good luck.

@@Omardottcom I didn't get the job. A lot of job interviews are made up of several interviews/rounds of interviews, especially corporate jobs.

What? Nobody wants to work... & not at Costco. They do it bc they pay ok compared to the other jobs that equally suck bc they hire horrible managers & employees. That then we all have to deal with their drama. These questions are full of it. They should ask real questions like are you a good person? Do you try & do the right thing. & trick questions for the liars bc the most horrible beings lie & know how to manipulate & scheme. They need to update their hiring processes. Bc they are just letting mean spirited people run their stores
