I'll show you a simple way to create a drain hose for you Commercial Cool Air Portable Air Conditioner and others. If you have any questions, please leave them below and I'll answer them.
Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I ru-vid.comUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!
*Works so well **Fastly.Cool** that it only requires daytime operation until high temp and humidity are overnight. It is difficult to get to side filters, but back is easily accessible.*
Awesome you’ve made this video! It’s a great how to when finding the correct size hose isn’t available! You’ve taken the trouble shooting guess work out, and made this process a do-able , I can do this confidence! Thank you sir!
I can't tell you how helpful this was!!! This was one of the best tutorials on how to create a drain spout for this portable unit model. Very simple and easy to follow. Thank You!!
Thank you! This is exactly what I imagined but had no idea if heating the tubing would work or if I'd wind up with melted, stinky tube goop everywhere (definitely imagined it dripping on my leg, sticking and burning like hot toffee/napalm). You just saved my carpet!
Wow thank you so much for posting this is exactly what I was looking for I have a HISENSE AP14DR1G 14000 BTU it really works great but you have to drain it a lot on the really hot days I purchased this for my camper so I didn’t have to buy a roof unit for my HVAC. It’s more practical plus it’s cost effective easy to repair/replace as needed
perfect. thank you. I lost my hose and I had the same issue in which I found a hose that was the same size. your trick worked. I was able to stretch it out and as it cool it create a great seal. all set for the summer. the other end goes directly out the window in which I have the exhaust vent. perfectly fits right in the corner with some foam and air vent tape.
I was just about to do this for my unit. Have no idea where the hose that came with it went, but I also had no idea how difficult it is to find the accessories for portable air conditioners. At least, in Canada. Went to Home Depot last night to get a replacement duct piece and ended up having to "make" a slightly too large aluminum piece work. While I was looking at the options, 4 other people came in and asked the HD guy for the exact same thing. 😄 Yeah, we're having a heat wave in Vancouver right now, lol! Anyway, I would have thought these were pretty standard and easily available pieces at this point. HD, Lowes, Rona, Canadian Tire.... nothing. Crazy.
Thanks for the video. So far so good for my unit, although since I keep it portable, running the tubing into a 5 gallon bucket, I am excited to run it for longer durations.
Thank you very much for making the video. So I question about running the drain to the outside of the house, the room I am putting it in is in addition onto a mobile home and I was thinking of running it out and then drilling a hole in the back deck and just running the hose through the hole so that it drains onto the ground underneath the deck. Do you think this is a good idea or do you think it is possibly problematic because of too much moisture building up?
Hi John, thanks for watching! I drilled a hole in the side of my house and let it drain outside into some small stones I purchased at Lowe’s. Just one bag. sounds like you could do the same but that’s up to you.
Just needed to say I have my Conditioner raised a bit off the floor and attached a small fitting hose to it so it drains automatically into a huge bucket. I'm not sure why people don't leave his attached permanently???😁
You can hang it out a window unless you got it on a pedesta or price of furniture. l. There's no pump to force the water up and out. It's only follows gavity.
Hello, question: how do you get that - the finished to fit, how do you lead the hose outside the home to get rid of the water.. and btw, you have one of the best you tubes, have been looking but no one as good showing and describing how to do.. Thanks so much, now if you have chance please explain how to hook up get outside of house. Have a wonderful air conditioner and can not use cause I can not lead water out of home.. thank you.. :) 🙂
Hi Megan, I had to buy a drill bit the size of the drain hose and drill through the the baseboards on an exterior wall, to let it drain. You have to make sure there’s no wires or pipes inside the wall.
4:21 Now all you have to do is put it under cold water (like Science Channel's How It's Made likes to say during every episode that I've seen) so it can solidify.
I was hoping all this stuff would be on the Hisense website, but nope. I'm even happy to pay the mark up if I could just order something that just spun right on to drain plugs. But nope. Got to call them, email them etc. Yuk. I'll just do this. THanks dude!
I had to make one as well I used an air compressor quick disconnect female and a 3/8 hose that connected to it but unfortunately it gets clogged easy from like air in the line or something What I don't understand is why in the hell doesn't it just come with a drain line
Do all portable AC units use the same hose size? I have a GE and it's self dehumidifying however that stopped working, so now I will have to use a hose to train. I am dying here in FL without it lol GE support was useless when asking size, and I am not a real man so not good with measurements ;(
Hey bud, you can go to Home Depot and get a couple small pieces of hose that come close to the diameter you need. You can use a piece of paper to mark the width of the opening. Bring it to lowes or HD to see if they have something close.
something isnt right with my unit or the tube. its a constant drop from the drain hole but then when i put to tube over it water stop coming out like its stuck but then when i take the tube off then it starts dripping again
Joseph, sounds like it might be a little "off-level"...slide a trim board under front wheels so the unity leans slightly back..That should fix the drain problem..
I'm not such what both water outlet are for? One you have use a garden hose. The smaller one is a drain. But what do I do to dehumidifier and air condition at same time? Which drain can I use?
i have an issue - i have a 10 feet hose for drainage - mine leaks a little after i turn it off at the base :/ any suggestions?? i drain in the bucket but its leak out at the base - near the hose area do i need clamps
@@erickfunk2557 it was supposed to drain from back of drain pipe hose where manual said I even called for living support best advice they said take back to store Which I did Wasn't supposed to drain fro side when turn off or beep when turned off either it was malfunctioning
Hello, you will need to either but the air conditioning unit on a stand with a bucket under it or drill a hole through an exterior wall so the hose could drain outside.
Hi Brian, that's a great question. I think they want you to drain it into a bucket then dump it out. Totally crazy, as there's plenty of us that would benefit by supplying us with a hose. Thanks for watching.
