In this video I show the simplest way to grow all your Yam heads from home cooking. We eat yams throughout the year and the heads that would be binned can be grown to give us a future yam. #growyams #gardenadvice
In Grenada we would dig and cut yam and put the head back in the hole. I hadn't seen the same done with pots, but this is a great idea. You can just keep re-growing! Thank you, Lillian.
That has always been the practice but the modernpopulation would purchase their yams far away from the farm. I always enjoy watching your channel @davidthegood
I do love this lady. Seriously. I haven't seen many yam growth videos except for sweet potatoes. I don't consider those as real yams. I love the way her yam plant developed.
Nice and inspirational to see your video lilian. I grow cinnamon yam outside in my back garden in the UK. I also cut of the head of sprouting Puna yam I buy in the market and grow these in some years. However when they are grown in containers out in the back garden, the vines die back in winter and the underground tubers has to be stored in a frost free area in order for them to sprout new vines at spring time in the new year.
Thanks please after how long does it take before you can harvest the yam in this weather? Do yams produce alot of yams from one container like sweet potatoes and potatoes. I have never eaten yam just heard the health benefits today
Hello dear Lilian! Oh that’s fantastic info on establishing the roots to get the plant going!! That makes a lot of sense….. great watering tips too!! You seriously are the best yam grower Lilian!! Amazing job my friend 💝💐🌻💕
It will take seven months to get a good table sized yam from seedlings. The seedlings first has to be produced from cut yams this is what I'm showing in this videovideo. To get a seedling can take six months,
My sister. I live in Maryland and in Dec/Jan, it will be probably snowing here. Should I bring it out in May when our spring weather warms up? Or when do you advise I should bring g it out?
