How to remove and install a spider fuel injector in a Chevy Express Van, All 4.3 engines, Tips too! 

Thank you so much for this video, I live in a rural area and can't even find a mechanic that is willing to work on my 2000 Express, I feel confident after watching this that I can do it myself.

For anyone that is doing this, take the 10 minutes and remove your passenger side seat. It will make this exponentially easier to complete.

I keep a tub of wheel bearing Grease always handy. I grease all my hose fittings and a lot of my tight fit inserts. It tends to be a little bit more viscous than petroleum jelly. Work great on everything!

Thanks for your vids. Getting a misfire in cylinder 1, but it wasn't spark plug or cable. Going to compression test that first cylinder and open up the air intake just to be sure it's getting a chance for power. Injectors/fuel system would be next on my list to figure out what's causing the issue. Wish me luck

Good video! I think that mysterious Gunk that was inside the manifold on one side was what is engine. I've seen if too much engine oil is added, it gets into the intake. I've seen this on a few cars I worked on.

My engine appears to be having trouble with the regulator requiring me to replace the entire spider unit. Also leaking oil in the lower manifold - gasket problem! How much time is needed to remove and replace the spider fuel injector? Thanks,

Nice vid. Question. 2001 astro van. starts good when cold, hard start when warm. Runs fine. first 30 sec of driving it will not accelerate ( like not getting any fuel), after that runs good. Lately backfires when starting. (flooding) been using seafoam on it. you think it is spider?

I attempted to change mine last thursday. Now im getting a misfire code at cyl 4, fuel injector and mass airflow code, and its running terrible. I remember the new spider was hard to press in. any suggestions

I seen a ton of bad reviews on new spiders that look just like this one. Any issues with yours? Would the amazon one work or should i spend 300 bucks roughly give or take

Got a(2000) (86k miles)5.7 savana with multi misfires on reader. Hard start. Back fires. runs bad. No power in drive. Is this the possible problem ? The spider?I original got the van from dealer cause squirrels eat wire harness.watched you and got wires done .. Did I miss something fixing wires? New wires ,plugs ,cap&rotor . Or is it the fuel pump...the local shops don't want to mess with it and the big dealerships sold it as a junket because it's hard to work on. But its clean inside and out other then engine running. Your channel has gotten me through alot of repairs on my 99 savana. But this $800 hightop is just a fancy van sitting in my driveway... van nationals is coming soon. Like to drive more then 3 blocks without a tow...lol.. help & thanks..

Hey Terrence, good stuff. I have a question my 2003 Chevy Express 2500 - 4.8 I have the same issues now it's worst I got raw fuel coming down the actually leaking out of exhaust just past the cat converter. I know this is dangerous.

Great video! I watched you were able to bend the white tubes easily. I bought one on eBay that LOOKED identical to the one in the video--but the tubes were very stiff--not flexible. Oh, and they came down so far before turning 90 degrees, the unit couldn't be installed in the mounting bracket. I sent that one back. Will you mention where that yours came from?

What was the reason to lead you to replace the spider injectors..??

I went to the mechanic and they wanna charge me 570$ for the part alone. I have a 2002 GMC savanna 2500 with the 5.7 , will this video work for my van? Also Where did you order your spider injectors?

Better change the oil and get that carb cleaner out of it that drained down into your oil

Can you use throttle bottle or carb cleaner on that plastic intake cover? To clean it. Thanks in advance

If your original injectors were the black plastic type with "pinch" ears, then you cannot go to the white larger plastic type. You need a special update with the black plastic, but injectors at the end. The white type won't seal correctly. Beware, once in, the upgraded ones are impossible to remove without taking off the lower aluminum intake and pushing them out from the underside. You can see in his video that the white ones do NOT go in all the way, and he switches to a newer engine where they do. If you replace the lower gasket (which you SHOULD, as it is the cause of vac. leaks, the distributor is pulled. Good idea to upgrade to the all aluminum distributor - doesn't cost much.
