Most excellent comment on trying to keep your hand above the knot .. a few years ago I was wearing the rubber type gloves, small piece got stuck underneath my knot , I went for a 30 foot flying ride. Swung around and hit the tree. Bruised up my leg pretty bad , I was lucky ! Thanks for a reminder to always keep your hands above the knot and don’t grab the whole night if you’re wearing gloves. I was in a hurry too. Smooth moving is good.

This is my favorite hitch. It tends effortlessly and has never ran on me. I have the most confidence in this hitch when weighted. I really do like the distal but it doesn’t tend as well in my opinion. I have had issues with the VT becoming too tight requiring adjustment while aloft. The michocan tends well but have had issues with it running when weighed. Great videos Bino👍.

I no longer climb, too old, too weak but Im teaching my 3 grandsons how to climb in a 30' crotch of a euc in my front yard. We always used a Blakes hitch or lately a distle. One day the yougest got to the top where my 13mm rope passes thru a frictiob saver (srt) and lo and behold his hitch locked up and he was stuck. With full body weight on the hitch he started to panic, fortunately I had left plenty of lineon the tree anchor end so quickly untied it and lowered him down. He was shocked and I learned a good lesson (always leave enough rope on the anchor end). Always enjoy your vids, good job, and oh yeah, I think we'll start using a knut hitch. Ascend with the knut above head hight and you need to tend the the tail then to descend move it down to descend buddy 😉

How is it that I can feel every extra pound that you carry in these videos. I hope you did all the things you wanted to do in life as an “in shape” bigger dude because after reading this comment you will start becoming skinny like me. It will be an “in shape” kind of slim. You will get there the most healthy and efficient way available. People will ask you what your secret is.

Why do you hook in on either side of your body? Is it to keep the hitch away from the other rope?

Because I'm heavy when I connect to the center it pushes on my hips more. When I use it in this way it feels better.

More wraps on first than second... Seems more like an srt knot than drt?

I show more wraps with a longer cord because even with the MRS system sometimes it can react differently. When I use SRS with the Rope Wrench I use a 24" cord with a 4 wrap hitch.

Interesting, it looks like a good hitch, but it is very different from the Knut Hitch that Educated Climber demonstrates on his channel. I wonder how two different hitches get the same name?

They are the same hitch. When he ties it and finishes his back side is my front side. When he rotates it, it is the same hitch.

Ooohh it's pronounced "Ku-nut" not silent k as in "nut". Before I heard the pronunciation I thought the intro was a bit unflattering. It looked like a movie intro with the title coming up over you. I thought to myself, that's not nice. Bino's a nice guy not a nut. 😟☺️😀
