Sorta like being a hedge fund manager, lol. A commission from the winners and another commission from the losers. A little piece from both ends makes for a game where you never lose. 🧐
The Rune is so ugly 😂but that’s a retirement investment if you hang on to it there’s no telling how much it’ll be worth to the right collector the only problem is I don’t think you can get any of the specialty parts for it
Ive been wanting a bike for 25 years now. I just turned 50 on the 5th of this month, and after 2 failed marriages and two houses I’m finally outta all debt from my Ex’s and now I can start dreaming being on the road again and free! Hopefully I’ll See all you bike lovers out there!
mate about time , get ready to meet a whole group of different people who share a common bond ,and motorcycling gives you a life focus , stops you from pestering your partner !
@@rideinpeace8309 yes I did I bought a ninja 600 and I also I helped my son on his first bike too! He wanted a KPR 200 so he found a 2022 KPR 200 with 67 miles on it. So of course I had to ride it lol I have to say not a bad little bike for what he paid for it!
I absolutely think you should start a motorcycle auction. Your a good dude, honest, and you know what the realistic value is vs trying to get rich or take advantage of people. Plus your name is already out there. Huge bonus!
@@user-yf5xs6lq4q not trying to be rude myself here, just curious….but if he is that horrible to people, why are you here watching? Do you know him personally?
This was such a fun video, glad to see you and Craig together again. my jaw literally dropped when you unveiled the Rune! Been a long time viewer seeing all the auctions seems like it's time to step up to the plate, you made a name for yourself in the motorcycle community and carry yourself with genuine good integrity, the world needs that right now more than ever. God bless you and all your endeavors
Yes, yes, yes, yes to the auction. I think we need a solid auction that is fully transparent about what you're buying BEFORE you buy it! I cant think of a better candidate for starting such a company! I also have to say that throughout the years, you have become one of my top 5 favorite youtube channels and I always look forward to a new video release! Its always icing on the cake when Craig shows up as well because you two are awesome together and you can definitely tell there is a true brotherly love there. Love both you guys and I hope that y'all always do these little Cameo videos together!
While a fully transparent auction is a nice idea it wont work because there will be too many conservative people who just wont bid on a bike that needs work or a mint bike because they want to get a good deal. More time and effort will be put in to each bike rather than in to the auction and it will take far more time than its worth. People forget the labor and hours it takes to set up an auction and the amount of money they invest in to promoting said auction. If you think that the auctions make a huge amount of money. They do yet a lot of it goes out in marketing. A motorcycle auction takes a long time to set up and to have enough bikes to put up for auction. Its a limited type of an auction.
I'm thinking a consignment setup would be better suited for what they want to do. Have it setup with some trusted shippers so the buyers don't get scammed.
@@JetSkiBuyFixPlaySellChannel consignments are horrible. People think their item is worth more money than they will get for it. Sits in their store/location for a long time.
Howdy. I have also used thrasher trucking in the past when attempting to ship a few vehicles. They took my money, never showed up to the pickup location, and claimed their truck broke down on the way to pickup.
Sean-I work at uShip. And I'm a big fan of the show! Been a fan for a bit! I shared the video around internally and we should have had a few people reach out to you to help recover some of those costs of the shipper and more. Be on the lookout for the email!
I love watching your videos and I know you have a business to run but I genuinely love the wholesome content when you go out of your way to help someone ina hard place like when you gave that gentleman full price for his bike and let home keep the bike. Love you guys, god bless
Shawn! Love your videos man! Have been watching for years, and was so upset when you sold both of those runes. Because of you and your channel the rune has become one of my favorite motorcycles! Such a rare beauty! Never let it go. Cant wait to see your videos on this new one! God bless!
Great video. I've been making some videos scrutinizing the Mecum three wheeler auction scene. There's a few hacks out there raking people over the coals with rattle can restos and laughing all the way to the bank. It's ridiculous and very upsetting, especially to the buyers. A full disclosure auction site would definitely be a welcomed venue!
Worked at a Honda dealership briefly at the time the Interceptor came out. All I can say is there wasn't any room around it when we pulled the shipping cover off of it till after it was on the floor the first day. Everyone had to have their eyes on it!!! Yours looks like a good restore project though. Yes they were absolute benchmarks for the industry. Nothing was the same after it.
Watch for the "chocolate cams" on those. The oil for the heads is riuted directly from the clutch basket, before any filtration can occur, took the dealers in the uk to figure this out as they just kept eating cams. They were replacing cams thinking it was faulty "chocolatey metal" at first. But it was just the clutch dust essentially sanding the cams away. Honda rushed them out to market to have something to compete against the suzuki katana and never did get round to fixing the issue at the factory. Within months of release the cbx750 appeared which says rather a lot about this bike. It was very innovative with the v4 beam frame and strange multi piece wheels! but a bit too innovative! Theres a modifcation you can do to take the oil from the main gallery at the bottom of the motor. Same on the magnas sabre etc. which is a different crank and firing but same engine. The first editions with the bolted multi piece wheels were a bit of an issue too as if you wheelied one and came down too hard the tyre would grab the fork as the wheel bent...coupled with the slightly nightmarish antidive and floppy frame it would try to kill you just a little bit dead. The really cool bit was the 180 degree crank, 1-4-3-2 firing order (same as thebhinda racing v4s) and the weight ,it was incredibly light for its day , its essentially the first supersport bike for the road but was sadly a truly terrible bike as a package. The vfr that followed is the real honda masterpiece. They sound amazing on song but you would pay for it in fuel!
@@sana-cm7oc in this configuration its a bit special. 1 4 3 2 firing order and 180 degree crank and oversquare bore too. Same as the motogp v4s made many many years later The vfr that soon followed was a vast improvement on the interceptor though.
Your guy’s videos together are amazing, I’d honestly pay to watch them. When you guys work together it’s a treat it’s like Craig’s expertise mixed with your casual humor that makes this duo perfect. Don’t let it die!!!
Congratulations on the RUNE, the best thing is that it fired up at the first attempt. You never see too many Auction Houses go broke. You're an honest, decent young man and you would be a very credible to do business with. Thanks to you for the video I am a regular viewer and also of the bearded mechanic Craig.
I was the owner of the Rune. It was kept on a battery tender and had Stabil fuel stabilizer. Tank was always kept full and the bike would be run on the freeway every few months. The FI injectors got a bit wonky a few years ago, but adding Lucas injector cleaner and 20 miles on the freeway cleared right out.
Great video guys and nice to see you both back together. It's nice to have friends isn't it. Also I think it would be a great idea to run your own auctions Shaun. I already know you'd do it much better and at a fair price too. Why not give it a go. You and Craig have plenty of resources so I think it would do really well and I know I'd love to see it.
Straight up. This is a GREAT follow up to the auction video. And I am getting ready to watch Craig's video right after dinner. I'm sorry, I've bugged you on a few things before. You are good people man! Thank you for sharing!
It's called "informing somebody on what they have". What he does with the info is his business. For the record I did not say he should sell it. The value of that one part is worth more than half of what he paid for the bike fyi.
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.
Sean, absolutely start your own auction! I have been wanting to buy a bike from you since you started SRK and it just never worked out. Make it happen!
I saw you getting the Road King 110 Aniv in the previous Auction video and got excited about seeing it starting in a future video. I'm glad it happened. You don't let us down Shawn & Craig. 7.6K miles, paint and chrome is all there; that Harley looks flawless and sounds properly. It started at the first try, battery issue doesn't count.
had an RE-5 - do not forget the 2 stroke oil tank. rotor tips are hard to find for them these days. The good news is it is every bit as smooth as you have heard. Roadtripped mine across Texas in the late 80s. As long as the 2 stroke tank is up, and you have compression, she will run (and surprise you).
@@acconboy wow. ok. wouldnt have expected that. those motors were pretty small displacement wise werent they? I mean...the rotary cars were too but they were pretty gutless until they added turbos
My cousin drank a cup of gas when we were kids. Our dads were were working on an old car and they filled up a McDonalds cup with gas. It was sitting on the bench, close to where my cousin had last placed his cup. He grabbed the gas cup and downed the contents in one quick gulp. He screamed like a mountain lion and commenced to running around the yard like a headless chicken. My uncle scooped him up. And we all headed to the ER. They pumped his stomach and He was no worse for wear. Thanks for the great content. Best of luck with your Auction endeavor.
Another awesome video and happy to see Craig! Your idea of starting a real auction company sounds like a good idea. if become reputable, which you would, people would be willing to buy online vs in person because of that reputation. You have a high standard and that would show in something like this. If God is opening the door..... walk though my friend.
Ayyyy!!! The return of Craig !!! I missed that dude so much. I remember when you moved i was ad we wouldnt have craig on the show anymore, glad to see him again
If finances wasn’t an issue I would come in a heartbeat to pick up the v45 just to restore in my dad’s memory. My dad had one when he was in the service that had service records and build sheets as long as a cvs receipt 😂 I still have pictures of his and it’s same paint color and everything! I would keep it in my shop and restore it in memory of him. Sadly we lost my dad in march of 2020 but the stories of his old bike still crack me up. I remember him telling me stories of riding it from east tn to fort Polk Louisiana all the time! Always enjoy watching your videos! God bless my friend 😊
Sean, don't let that trucking company steal your money. You paid them for a service that they didn't provide. If you paid by credit, charge it back. The credit card company will refund you. If you paid by check, sue them. Small claims court doesn't cost that much and you can add it to the settlement anyway to cover your costs. I know you aren't about that, but it's the right thing to do.

This vid showed up in my recommendations - no idea how I missed this channel all these years. Plus, this vid features my very first bike, I had an identical Honda Interceptor. I was the envy of all my high school friends. In 1990 when Honda came out with the VFR 750 for the first time, that was my 2nd bike. Third was the CBR900RR Fireblade. You can figure out the track record after that pretty much, although I did get a Harely Night Train in 2007 with the 200mm rear tire. Good times. Great vid, look forward to perusing your old vid catalogue. "Salute".
quick tip- go back a year or so to the videos before he moved. Him and craig were still doing the channel together, they honestly had a great comedic chemistry. The stuff since is fine but some of the old stuff is gold
When I was 10 my father got me a Yamaha SnoScoot for Christmas. He wrapped it in a tarp, which was hard af to get off. But getting that and the fun I had on it were some of the best memories of my childhood. I lost him 4yrs and 2 days later. Thank you for the great childhood dad, I hope I'm half the father you were.
Dude, I love both channels between you and Craig, but seriously….. you guys have on screen chemistry that’s on par with Clarkson, Hammond, and May! You guys are meant to be together.
Hey, I have a comment that will fall of blind eyes and deaf ears. You complained about the auction having terrible pictures and no information, yet you bid on these items? I don't know who is worse. Stop giving them your money! Do not support companies that screw it's customer base over.
I remember growing up I always wanted a Honda V45. I use to dream about that bike as a kid. Classic. Good job on your purchases. Really enjoy your vlogs.
Okay Beardy Boy let's back it up Never Insult the Magic Dorito I have a 2004 Mazda RX-8 I bought new back when it came out and I love that car... Rotary Engines are Works of Art!🤘
dang the fact that you actually got a rune. that's amazing. hope all parts of it are og and im glad that's it's running, that thing is super hard to find and if you found one it goes over 15k all the time, still one of my dream bike, just hard to find one that's reasonably balanced on price and condition.
Good to see you're still in the game. Start an online auction platform, less hassle. Your viewers can buy and sell used bikes, make short videos and ship or pick them up themselves.
Love the videos! First video I watched of the channel was the OCC video and have binge watched em all in the past 2 weeks. Got me inspired to take a little time each day on the way to work/home to think about Jesus so thank you for that. You’ve also inspired me to sign up for a motorcycle safety course, get my endorsement, and start riding 2 wheels!!! Thank you!!!
Hay guys, cool video, several great bikes, love The Rune - its very judge dread. Imagine dressing like him an a paint job...cheers. My fazer has just had new radiator etc, think have blown something,,, poping an banging in all the wrong places, maybe timing chain has slipt or something, she still fires up an rides, but very noisy... going in the shop again. Best be on the safe side.. Love my RoadKillr. This year will do lots of miles around the UK. Cheers guys
Those honda 50s are incredible machines. I raced a stock one at 160lbs for years. Me and another overgrown child used to push two of them to their limits everyday for hours on our three local pitbike tracks. Never onced had one issue. Didnt even need a top end after all that wide open thrashing. Find me any other dirtbike that can do that... even my ct70 bent a valve before my xr50 even broke a sweat.
My dad used to have a Honda VF 1000 interceptor grey import from canada. And just the starting sound alone from the V750 brought back so much memories.
I just found your channel seeing the OCC Geico bike. The Harley in this video is absolutely beautiful! I’m not a huge Harley guy but I’ll tell you what, I’d buy that one!
been half heartedly looking for a BW 350 in good shape for reasonable money for years. I had a 200 when i was alot younger and ran it 4 seasons a years with studded tire in the winter, Alot of fun.
My good fortune to see one of those chromed Honda Z50 MiniTrails--about 7 yrs ago at local independent bike mechanic shop. Fellow told me each Honda dealer got one of them. Also saw a Suzuki RE-5 at a friend's independent bike dealership--at least 15 yrs ago.
