I hope you go to bed at night and think of the thousands of lives you are changing in a positive way. I've only been watching your videos for a month now, and I've literally gone from speaking to nobody but my family for years to having 5 or more meaningful connections with strangers on most days. Two words: Karaoke! Low stakes, no expectations, the lyrics are in front of you. But the spotlight is on you and people are watching and hearing you, the centre of attention. Great way to practice experiencing that feeling of being exposed and vulnerable, but has a safety net. I teach tai chi sometimes and my biggest struggle is being the centre of attention and remembering the moves, the names, the theory. A few weeks ago someone came in with scoliosis, I know nothing about that, so had to improvise with safer limits. I hate that feeling of being on my toes, I don't adapt well, but I hope I get better at it with experience. But to get there? I did a bunch of karaoke. (and karate, which also involves doing stuff in front of people, especially for gradings, but it's great for anxiety to stomp and scream and hit stuff, I'd prescribe it to anyone xD) The night I won money for a karaoke contest I didn't realise was going on, I started to trust that I didn't suck and people might even enjoy listening to me. Huge boost in confidence. External validation can only go so far, but once you internalise it, you'll have a fire inside you can trust to burn and sustain you.

Not sure if this will help anyone, but here are some things that helped me with GAD (General Anxiety Disorder) over the years: 1) Reducing caffeine a lot (eliminating coffee completely because it was spiking my anxiety levels way too much, caffeine is like fuel on the fire) 2) Therapy to learn boundaries (I needed some to coach me through understanding why I didn't have boundaries and how to set them without feeling guilt or shame). 3) Mindfulness (books like 30 Days to Reduce Stress by Harper Daniels and The Body Keeps the Score by Kolk helped. I recommend both) 4) More time exercising, and outside in nature if possible 5) Cold showers (sounds terrible, but there's something about doing them every day and getting through them that strengthens the body's recovery to anxiety episodes and prepares the mind and body to be more resilient) 6) Getting real about relationships (getting rid of the ones that don't reciprocate or honor my boundaries, not letting people disrespect my time, energy and space...and realizing they're not at fault, it's my responsibility to set the boundaries and be clear about them) 7) Journaling (just spilling thoughts and feelings on paper, and either keeping them in a journal or throwing the paper out...doesn't matter...just to get it out on paper is what matters) Maybe this will help someone else out there.

Great stuff Julien, haven't connected to the info in the same way as with yours ever I think. Feels like this is the most important topic to explore before anything else in the life. I have an interesting question, does letting go of past traumas and shadow work as you refer, help you having a better and shorter sleep? As per discussion with one Jogi lately, he mentioned only limitation you have per day is amount of energy you have inside of you, which resets daily. And by having less triggers, traumas etc. you are losing the precious energy into nothing. Does that transfer to less sleep and more energy per day overall per your observations?

It's absolutely true. I find myself urging the guy to be more charismatic, engaging, and unconcerned about others' opinions. It's common to mistake loudness and energy for 'confidence,' yet quieter, more introverted individuals are often unfairly labeled as shy and lacking confidence. I believe there are multiple expressions of confidence. I also agree that regardless of where we fall on the introvert/extrovert spectrum, we can always improve ourselves through practice and guidance. Thank you for all your efforts, Julien.

Hi Julien, i wanted to ask you something and your answer would mean a lot to me. I have very bad social anxiety from all bullying in middle school. I cant even do presentation now on univeristy, my whole body starts trembling very bad and everyone sees it. I want to buy your program transformation mastery and learn letting go process. The question is, will it help me? Can it help me? I see a lot other people going to psychiatrist for months, years paying a lot of money and take medications. Is that necessary because i dont want to do that. So can your program really help me? Thanks❤

I had 4 triggers 1. When the person asked a question and waited, I'd get nervous and think I need to say more instead of saying you don't know what to say 2. Think you need talk fast to be heard, you don't have to, you can talk slowly 3. And repeat yourself when the person goes quiet cuz you're too nice to ask if they understood you. Thanks to a certain SOMEONE who kept saying nothing when I talked to him 4. Or thinking the small stuff wasn't good enough to talk about so I'd keep it for myself, but it's not true, talk about the small stuff too Those were automatic triggers I wasn't aware of There was something cool I realized. Not to be more positive, but instead, to not be negative. The action of not doing, relax, and natural positivity

What is the deepest fear we have of being ourselves? Maybe it's different for everyone and it's multi-layered but I just feel there's a fundamental link everyone has when it comes to this. Could be wrong🤔
@spontaneousbootay
@spontaneousbootay 8 месяцев назад
Yea, its a survival mechanism from the mammalian brain. The part that had millions of years to develop. So mammals are social animals. We live in groups. And alone it is very difficult to survive. From a monkeys perspective, someone getting left behind is going to trigger fear because the others that they saw got killed doing solo stunts more often than not. We are also dependent on our parents for a much longer time to any other animal because of our vulnerable state. Basically we evolved as social animals. Having a social saftey net is important to well being. So if you feel that you arent going to be accepted then you will hide. And the human part of the brain is very good at rationalizing things to make sense with its given data set.

I feel like shit and really frustrated bc I can´t get a girlfriend. I can´t get love. Shouldn´t it come naturally that women are interested to me? I know you would say I have to love myself. Yeah but HOW? I have literally no control, only temporarily. But then my life reminds me of how a piece of shit I am. I can hear all those facts all the time but it literally does NOTHING. I do these letting go meditations but there literally comes nothing up. I feel like I have no control. I´m made to be lonley and have no girlfriend. I can´t change that.

After you get a girlfriend your self worth isn't going to change. Its a process you have to do outside of your relationships. After i got into my first relationship i had problems of being insecure and not believing that the person is attracted to me. I'm thankful that they worked it through with me but you can also easily be hurt. Take care 🙏 you're stronger than you think.
@NameNik223
@NameNik223 8 месяцев назад
@MyYulia23 Similar here, except these relationships eventually ended for me. I was evaluating my self-worth based on what my girlfriend thought of me, instead of who I wanted to be. It caused us both a lot of pain. I don't regret anything since I learned a lot despite the painful breakup, but I wouldn't want other people to go through "perfect" relationships for years like me only to suddenly crash apparently "without reason".

9:15 just wanted to clarify this point about our development : our personality changes deeply even after 7yo thank fucking god. We get more extrovert and confident trough time for instance. However it's true that what happened when you were younger, when you were learning about fundamental principles of this world and yourself, this creates schemes that bias our view of the world and shape the way we react to events :) So it's good to introspect but let's not pretend development stops at 7yo, until the day we die there is continuous change.

@@connorbalisky1827it may look like that, but I can assure you it’s not. People who are severely anxious benefit tremendously from exposure therapy practices. It is by far one of the most effective practices for anxiety to date, it is one of the only ways to make a severely anxious person see that most of it is in their head and that they can overcome it. I’ve studied a lot about anxiety and exposure therapy practices because I am in college for psychology.
