If you do want to use numbing cream, you can ask your pharmacist to recommend one.
This is the one I used (bigger size is available) :

I get electrolysis once a week for like a month and half now. My chin and upper lip. And upper lip is unbearable. It’s the most sensitive my lady said. I tried numb cream it helped insanely.

The tip about not using it for your 1st session to sus your technician out was brilliant.

Lidocaine 10% spray is the best I've used so far. Numb master gel is also good.

Just came back from getting my under arms done and the pain on the outer bits were do-able but the inner armpits in the middle was painful. The lady suggested numbing cream! For anyone out there who used it, let me know below if it reduced the pain?

I get electrolysis on my bikini area (5 1hr sessions so far) and it feels like DEATH! Like it feels like I’m touching my thighs on a hot stove for a whole hour. I injured my shoulder muscle from tensing, twitching and twisting in pain during my last session. The electrolysis marks are healing but very very slowly. I’m really hoping they don’t scar. I feel like a crazy person because of everyone saying its only somewhat “uncomfortable”. I’ve never experienced anything so painful in my life, and yet for some reason I keep going back because I paid for 10 sessions in advance and my electrolysis lady hasn’t done all the areas of my bikini line yet.

Everyones pain threshold is different and some areas hurt more than others. Try taking pain killers 30mins before your appointment and try numbing cream on the bikini line to see if it helps! I personally had laser done on the bikini area and it takes about 20mins each session and has worked very well! You could consider doing a course of laser, and then finish off any hairs with electrolysis. Just wanted to make some suggestions to help ☺️

Yes, I could bare the pain on my sideburns and chin, but I had to apply Emla for my upper lip. Otherwise I would flinch, or tear up. Honestly, I still feel pain, but its bearable. My first experiences with electrolysis was with galvanic on my chin. My technician wouldn't use it on my upper lip because she thought I was likely to scar. I found it super effective on my chin. I went to a short wave tech for my upper lip, the zaps are less intense, but the location is very sensitive so I will likely be treating the area for a while.

Upper lip felt exactly like having my septum pierced over and over. Numbing cream didnt even touch the sides. Ive got hold of some lidocaine for injections so ill be jabbing the inside of my upper lip next time. Not a fan of needles but ya gotta do what you gotta do.

I am terrified of getting it done because I have the worst pain tolerance, and hearing people with the highest saying it is unbearable, is just making me feel like I should cancel my session! I just wish there was a way to get rid of the hairrrrr ugh. I wonder what the very best numbing cream is

Thank you for this video! I wanted to ask I’m getting electrolysis done on my chin area only, is it okay to continue to waxing the upper lip area? I’m not planning to get electrolysis done on my upper lip ever.
@melisatesbel

Yep that’s ok because you’re not getting it done on the same part

When should you expect to see a full clearance? I started by doing 2 hours a week on my chin hairs for 3 months and then every single week and have still not had full clearance. I wasn’t told to book an appointment as the hair was growing through (like mentioned on one of your videos) I have literally left the hair to grow and just go to my appointment weekly.

It can take 1 year for some people 2-3 years. If you have a hormone imbalance you will have to maintain the results so it’s not permanent. It is a long journey but it is so worth it!

Do you need different needles for different areas of the body or can you use one needle all over?
@melisatesbel

They will use a specific needle size depending on the size of the hair

Hi Melis! You look amazing! I wanted to ask your opinion about getting electrolysis done on my body. I had many sessions of laser done on my legs, under arms and bikini area. The hair on my leg is practically gone, but the hair on the more hormonal areas which are bikini area and under arms are just like before. Are you happy with your electrolysis results? How long had it been since you got your last session? (Asking this because all my hair came back after like 4 months) would you recommend I get electrolysis done on my bikini area and under arms?

Hi thank you! I kind of had a similar experience to you and I personally am having another course of laser for those body parts. If you have had more than 2 courses of laser on those areas, then I would say switch to electrolysis. I am very happy with my electrolysis results. It did take a long time for it to clear the area and I still have to maintain the results by having touch up sessions a few times a year because of my PCOS. But it is the best treatment for stubborn unwanted hair!

Hy,do u suggest diod laser treatment for facial hairs?... I've fair skin and I've done 4 laser sessions...till now I can see a clear difference like my hairs are finer now ...but I want to know ..are the results temporary or permanent??like after sometime will they come back thick???...plz guide...bcz know I've stopped my sessions and I'm bleeching my chin and jaws areas ..
@melisatesbel

Hi I’m not trained in laser but because of my personal experience I personally don’t recommend laser for facial hair unless the hair is thick and it’s all over the face. Everyones body is different so it’s hard to say if the hair will come back thick but there is definitely a risk of this happening. Laser is not permanent hair removal, it is permanent hair reduction.

I want to get electrolysis done as well but does it help to get rid of hair permanently ? and is not triggering any hair growth like if you get laser?
@melisatesbel
@melisatesbel 2 года назад
It is permanent unless you have a hormone imbalance (if you, you maintain the results with touch up sessions a few times a year). There is no possibility of electrolysis stimulating more hair growth when it’s done correctly
