As a girl who is 23 y.o please read carefully. I've been through the same process and I totally got rid of all my facial hair. I am a hairy girl and my hormones are supporting it and at 7 I started waxing bikini area, armpits and I was really sensitive about even 1 hair folicule. At 14 I started to have laser hair removal to my face and my face become like man beard and it followed by inflamed hair root causing acne and my face was in terrible situation with soooo many hair and acne. What laser does to facial hair is since the roots are not so thick, it literally triggers the hair and wakes up the sleeping roots and causes the hairs you won't even see becomes darker and thicker and results with beard-like hairs. At 18 I found a woman in İstanbul who does the great job in electrolysis and went her. It took 22 hours in 2 days. I was numbed and literally slept while she was doing the job. I got rid of each hair and result was perfect. A year later maybe quarter of the hair came back with same strong and I went to her again. And now its been 4 years I am totally clean and I see the ONLY AND ONLY WAY TO GET RID OF THE HAIR IS ELECTROLYSIS. PLEASE DON'T EVEN TRY SOMETHING ELSE. AND BE SURE THAT YOUR ESTHETICIAN DON'T PULL THE HAIR WITH TWEEZER AFTER GAVE THE ELECTRIC SHOCK WITH NEEDLE. MAKE SURE HAIR IS COMING TO TWEEZER WITHOUT FORCING/PULLING WITH TWEEZER. And don't worry everything has a solution as long as we are healthy. Nevermind the rest of it. Everything will be ok ❤
Omg I'd love to know the location, I didn't know it was even possible to be (almost) one and done and for such a long one time sitting over the course of a few days.
Thank you! Aww I’m so glad it’s helped you, it’s definitely changed my life and made me feel more comfortable and confident. Hoping that my story/experience helps others too!
Thank you thank you thank you. I’ve had hirthuism for the last 4 years and it’s made me feel so suicidal. I get it on my face, worse than you. My belly neck, back arms…. And I couldn’t handle it anymore, this is give me hope. ❤
I'm waiting to see an endocrine. I just had my first laser session done on Wed but I was looking to find a place that can remove everything so next Wed I'm meeting with a Dr for electrolysis and I'm excited to finally fix my confidence and self esteem and get out of depression over this. I always thought that something was wrong with me but I see now that so many women are going through what I'm going through and I appreciate you posting your videos I'm learning more and more about this and I'm hoping to find out soon why I'm having this problem. I have been wanting to get this fixed for a long time but due to my daughter being diagnosed with a brain tumor she was my focus, but for now I can focus on getting myself taken care of and I can't wait to be past this and find out why I'm going through this. I did have an ovary removed due to a large tumor on there and then the hairs started to grow and grow more overtime. Depression has started and severe anxiety and the wants of removing myself from this world due to this but I have to be here for my daughter and I now know there's treatment and that there are so many women with the same situation as me.
Thank you for updating! I just started my journey this month. I've followed you since the start almost and you have strongly influenced my decision to not do laser (and to kindly decline when my beautician offered laser when I asked for electrolysis), to start shaving instead of plucking my chin hairs AND to finally save up money to start my electrolysis journey. So once again, deepest of thanks to you. And to anyone else reading this comment, if you have any questions about first time electrolysis or anything regarding electrolysis I'm happy to answer any questions I can.
I have a question , why does electrolysis not exist in developing countries? I have a problem in my nose hair, my hormones like men but I cut the hair on my nose, and now it's getting thicker, it makes me very anxious to cut it, how to make the hair smooth and disappear? I really don't want to get rid of it all just some of it disturbs my appearance
@@alsashfvalsa1693 I dont know anything about Ipl or laser, all I know is that for some women, especially women with hormonal issues, laser have caused more hair growth. For this reason I have never wanted to do laser on my face, only electrolysis. You should watch some of Melis' other videos on her channel, there is one where she speaks about laser.
Thank you so much ! I'm French and I had laser hair removal done by an esthetic dermatologist for dark coarse hair on my chin area (I've seen my gynecologist and had a blood test and ovaries and hormonal came out normal . I may have stimulated the area by plucking one, then two, then 10 since years... Also, I am overweight so I heard it can have a role. I have a copper IUD and my period are quite regular. The dermatologist said I won't have paradoxical hair growth elsewhere. She only treats chin and upper lip area with but NOT the cheeks because acccording to her, this is where paradoxical hair growths can occur. So I trusted her and I had maybe 10 sessions (nearly 100 euros each session). It was life changing since the 1rst session. My last session was on october this year and I started at the summer of 2020. But I noticed some darker and thicker hair on my cheeks . She said she'll treat them by electrolysis. I'm not sure if its because I'm not that insecure anymore about my chin so I focus more elsewhere or if I have a beginning of a paradoxical hair growth... I only saw dark peach fuzz on my cheeks but I started electrolysis with her for 50 euros 10 minutes and I have to drive for an hour to go to the clinic.... It works but this is so expensive. I hope I wont have a lot more hair to treat. My beauty therapist who works in my home town had a few days to get trained for electrolysis and I had 2 sessions with her to compare with my aesthetic dermatologist. My skin is barely reacting and I dont feel that much electricity. So as it's significantly less "painful" and causes almost no reaction, my brains tells me it won't work. And sometimes she can't remove the hair because it's to small, but my dermatologist will success. So I dont know what to do really 😂. I can have an appointment with my beauty therapist much quicker than my dermatologist who is 1 hour drive away, but she also can't manage to get hair too short for her but very visible for me... I work in a primary school so childreb notice everything 😂. We women spend so much money to get rid of these hair... I would love to spend it for a trip or something instead of treating hair I shouldn't have. 😅 I'm so sorry for this long comment which is useless for people but I needed to talk . Thank you again for sharing your hair removal journey ! And I hope my english is understandable. Merci!😊
in some people fat acts as a hormone factory...it produces over abundance of estrogen......if you lose some weight you may find that you have less issues...
Hi and thank you for those helpful informations.Could you please recommend a good eyebrow scissors for trimming the facial hair or any good scissors ?Thank you🌺
thanks for the information. when you say that you go for a retouch, is it for the same hairs that got removed with electrolysis or are they new hairs in diff areas?
I am a guy, and I am about to start my journey this week on my horrid neck hairs. As a Canadian from Norman-Prussian-Hessen-Cree-Sioux blood I have extremely thick brown hair, so shaving my face always leads to ingrown hairs. So hopefully this works!!
I noticed the blend electrolysis is good for my thinner hair (not vellus) but the thick ones on my chin didn't get as affected by it compared to the thermolysis. I can't wait to go back to get it. I have been epilating my body... I'm thinking about not doing it anymore because it might stimulate more growth all over.
Thanks for your effort in this video. I have few questions: 1. Do you use slim needles for slim hair and thick needle for thick hairs? 2. You said earlier you took medications for your periods. So, since then how were your periods been? Were it regular ? And right now your cycle is normal? 3. Currently do you shave/trim occasionally between your maintenance sessions?
Hi, do you know what the rules are regarding the type of sessions you had with people who have had radiotherapy / chemotherapy.. When I looked into this a few years ago I couldn't have it because I've had radiotherapy. Sorry if you've answered this previously, just stumbled onto your channel. Thankyou.
Thank you so much for this video, it gave me hope since I too have PCOS and struggle with huritism and losing weight. I just want to know if I should wait until I lose weight and deal with the hormonal imbalance or if I can start electrolysis right away. Because it is so embarassing for me to go out in public like this, so I started staying at home most of my time and I don't feel confident and yeah it's tiring.
I found your channel right before I started level 2, I am about to finish level 4 and we did electrolysis practical yesterday. It was horrible to be honest, so painful. As a therapist I enjoyed the treatment, as a client I couldn't bare the pain. Thank you for the video!!
I started electrolysis last autumn..5 months ago, on my chin and sideburn/jawline. I dont have pcos., but i probably am heading towards menopause being in my late 40s. I have had laser treatment on the areas in the past but felt the hairs got a lot worse!! Yikes!! So decided, after researching, including watching your videos, to go for electrolysis. So far so good...I've had 5 sessions..of an hour. I actuslly cope well with the level of discomfort . Definitely depends how you feel on the day...i was really tired on one of the appointments and struggled in last half hour. I've had a few bruises but nothing concerning and it's the best boost to my confidence when this wiry black hairs are gone , aswell as other fairer long ones! My question would be...how often is expected to have to go...I find I get 2 weeks and then hairs appear..I stay a bit if a distance away, so can only go every 4-5weejs, by which time I'm having to shave or trim...as we have done away with masks...damn it!! Thry were great for hiding a hairy face😅. So I really ideally would ho every 3 weeks...is that "normal" fir the face. I did do laser on my legs and bikini, years ago, and it's been amazjng for that. Thanks for your videos .
Just watching rest of your video....I get zero scabbing....I do sometimes feel tugging...sometimes she's checking to see if it's loose, and sometimes she turns it up for stronger hairs.
@@tigerfeet2813 Hi facial hair tends to grow every 2 weeks so you may need to get sessions done often at first. As you notice results, it sill then be every 3 weeks, then 4 weeks and so on. You just keep an eye on the hair, and when you see it growing through the skin, that’s when you should book your session ☺️
@@melisatesbel OK.. so to update. Had 45 min appointment a week ago. I always see the same therapist as she is lovely and I feel good. This time I did get quite a lot of blood spots/mini scabs under my chin...nothing I'm worried about though. I was tired and did find it a bit more uncomfortable...but I wonder if she turned the machine up a bit to get these stubborn hairs?
Am so confused when i see your results. After the first session my chin area was bleeding and swollen. And that continues eventually to my third session, which ended worse with ingrown hairs, redness and swollen. After that i stopped. But after three month redness, ingrown hair and swollen is still there, even the skincare products can't help. Has that happened to you and what should i do ? HELP🥺
No I personally don’t take any medication. Laser for the body was so good! My legs, underarms, bikini and upper lip is thinner. But IPL laser for my chin/neck, it made it worse!
I am getting my hair removal down with candela gentle pro max it's the best laser so far, I have done 5 sessions, l still grow hair but growth is slow and hair are thin.
Hi your results are so amazing. It makes me feel hopeful. This year I’ve accidentally stimulated some of my chin hairs which has devastated me. I foolishly used an epilator on my face more than once. The hairs have grown back thicker. I can’t get them treated yet due to being on accutane. Only two more months to go but I think I need to wait at least 6 months after accutane for treatment. I just wondered if you knew how long electrolysis would take to permanently remove hairs on a small area of the chin please? I hope to hear from you, I’m really worried.
Hi! Yes that’s right you need to be wait 6 months after you finish the course of accutane. Results really varies from person to person but on average it can take 2 years. For a small area with not a lot of hair, it can take less than that. Hope this helps!
@@melisatesbel Thank you so much for replying, I really appreciate it. Goodness 2 years, I hope it takes less time since it’s smaller. I’ve been so foolish. I never knew epilators could do that. It’s really messed me up. Im super upset. I can’t wait for next year so I can start the process. Thank you so much. X
@@melisatesbel Hello lovely. Happy Friday. Yes it was a huge shock, still is. 😢 Thank you so much for being so kind and reassuring me. I’m so upset, I’m talking daily tears. 😢 It was just an honest mistake purely from lack of knowledge. I didn’t even remove the hair many times. Now I know and i will never make the same mistake again. My epilator and my tweezers are banished forever. I shouldn’t wish my life away but I can’t wait until next year to start the process. I’m just hoping my skin will be strong enough at the end of March which is slightly over 6 months after accutane. I’m very anxious about causing anymore damage. I live in the U.K. and I wish I could come to you for treatment but it’s a long costly journey unfortunately. But I have found a place here in my city that looks really good. Thank you so much again. You’ve helped me a lot. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Xx
@@tortiecatsmeow Happy Friday to you too! Aww just remember that you’re not alone! I didn’t know and lacked knowledge even though I was in the beauty industry so don’t be too hard on yourself! The good thing is that there is a solution, and that’s why I talk about electrolysis and my experience on here so I’m glad you found a place and ready for your plan next year! Have a lovely rest of the week! X
I don’t understand why you said you need touch ups. I thought electrolysis is the only permanent removal once the hair follicle is stimulated it’s dead. But why does hair still grow? Is it because the technician didn’t „kill“ the hair follicle the first few times?
I have polycystic ovary syndrome (pcos) that causes me to grow new hairs so i need touch up sessions a few times a year to maintain my results. The hairs treated are permanently gone but because i have pcos, my hormones cause new hairs to grow
Cure hirsutism/PCOS with natural herbal medicine and cleanser, 8 year's of struggling then a friend of mine introduce me to Alternative Herbal treatment on youtube which cured her niece with same issue with natural herbs in less than 2 weeks so I gave it a try and it really worked for me as said so happy 😂 with the improvement #drisibor link
@@melisatesbel so how many session we need for permanent result?? i have hormonal imbalance .. Will i have to do electrolysis for the rest of my life ? Can u explain this?? Plz
Does hair grows back on the part where you have done electrolysis or it goes away with one sitting where you have been treated? Cuz hair grows back in laser hair treatment.
Electrolysis is permanent (unless you have a hormones imbalance you will need to maintain the results) but it doesn't happen with just one treatment. It can take a long time to get the realists but the hair won't grow back.
Waxing and laser treatment was a waste of time and money, my wife had the same facial hair growth and she was diagnosed with PCOS. So she decided to search for a solution and came in contact with Doctor isibor supplement that cured her permanently
I appriciate the honesty but I thought the hair stops after electrolysis... whats the difference between laser and this if we have to go back for touch ups every year? How much hair even grows back for touch ups?
When my hormones fluctuate I personally grow around 5-10 hairs on the chin a few times a year. Only for this reason I do not class it as permanent. But someone who doesn’t have hormone issues, it will be permanent whereas laser is not. IPL laser for me stimulated more hair all down my neck and in areas i didn’t have hair. For this reason, laser for the chin area is not the right option and electrolysis was my only option. 5-10 hairs a few times a year is nothing and takes less than 5mins it was life changing for me. Everyone’s body is different but this was my experience. I hope that explains it all.
@@melisatesbel oh wow 5-10 is still great!! I thought you meant like half the growth comes back. I have heard ipl laser is not actual laser and it does not do a good job. that could have been the issue too. Thanks for all the honesty!
@@LLastRoseI think any new growth that may occur isn't from the same hair follicle that's been treated with electrolysis successfully. That follicle has been killed off. Any new growth is from a new follicle that has been stimulated from higher testosterone
You said you got pigmentation when u accidentally scratched the scabs off. Then later you said that that area is not producing enough melanin, that's the reason for white spots(pigmentation). My question is How scratching the scabs off is relevant to skin actually not producing melanin. You scratched scabs few years back. Now the skin should actually start producing melanin. I think while treatment there is some severe damage cause to the skin(epidermis), that's why it is not producing melanin. What u say?
When I scratched the scabs off by accident over a period of time, I’ve damaged my skin. The area has white dots which shows that the cells that should produce melanin in that area aren’t doing their job properly.
Not necessarily true . After a while the hairs get really thin . Shaving is best in between sessions, tweezing is such a habit although it may slow the process 😩
@@chellybaby OH yes I've definitely stopped the tweezing. Makes alot of sense now on why it grows thicker. A problem for me though right now is I'm trying to see an endocrine. I've had electrolysis done by a woman that charged too much and the hairs grew back. My primary care Dr thinks I don't need a referral because I'm getting electrolysis done but I'm hoping this next appointment she will refer me to see a specialist. She claims it's normal in which I know it's not. After having an ovary removed after having my daughter I started getting hairs a year after she was born so I know there's a problem. This has completely changed my life for the worst honestly. It's so depressing to go through this and my confidence is drained. I'm embaressed to go in public even though I hide it so well and others never notice but it's always in my head on what I have going on. I've had suicidal thoughts before because it's AL to handle but I always remind myself that there is treatment and I'm fortunate to have the finances to get treatment. I really don't think this should even be considered cosmetic because it's due to health issues and I feel if women spoke more about this situation it can possibly be pushed to the point that insurance can cover this for women out there that can't afford this treatment. I did find a new electrologist that is cheaper and closer to my location so I'm hoping I can make it through this time so I can feel free because I feel imprisoned in my own body due to this issue. I pray for other women out there struggling with this issue but I will say it shouldn't be anything to be embaressed about. We have no control over our body's and if there's help then take it🙏🥰
@@yvonnetyrone7165 I'm so sorry you're suffering but please know the you're not alone. keep up the electrolysis treatments and in a years time, it will be gone forever! they can grow back so don't give up and keep getting treatments for a full year. I look at before and after photos of other people to keep myself positive and focusing on what's on the other side of this. Praying for you, it will get better if you keep going! my electrolygist says people give up too soon and never see permanent results because of this

I would love your advice on this topic as it’s not very clear here in the UK. My training wasn’t clear on whether it should happen or not but the British Institute and Association of Electrolysis (BIAE) state that pin prick scabs are normal. I have been to 12 different people for electrolysis and there were only 2 electrolygists that didn’t cause scabbing. It’s like it’s very common especially with the Diathermy method. Any tips or advice?
@@melisatesbel My advice would be to book your appointments with the electrologist who doesn’t cause scabbing, and stick with that person. Not all electtologists are created equal😀. Just note that you should never feel the hair being removed after it is treated . It should slide out easily, otherwise it would be the same as tweezing, but there shouldn’t be anything more than some redness , maybe slight swelling, immediately afterward. I recommend using ice wrapped in a cloth , and application of zinc oxide for after treatment care. Also no makeup or heavy moisturizer for 24-48 hours.
I have a question I want this done on me I have facial hair growing up to my under eyes and down my neck I’m 33 male And just getting hair in these spots I want this removed If I do it will it work? Also is it something I’ll have to do forever ? I did laser hair and it didn’t do anything I have really sensitive dry skin I don’t want to ruin my skin more I also have reddish facial hair

I will def ask about that kind of needle Thank u for letting me know that Yea..my skins so messed up from accutane years ago I def will do that more I really hope they can do it and it works for me Appreciate u letting me know all of this Hopefully it works well and quick So I can remove it Appreciate it again Thanks 🙏🏻
@@navneetkaur1343 It is unless you have a hormone imbalance. I have PCOS and don’t take medication for it that’s why new hairs are growing through every 3/4 months. I’m still incredibly happy with this as it’s better than waxing/tweezing every week ☺️
For the chin area I personally get top up sessions a few times a year because of my PCOS. If you don't have a hormone imbalance, you wouldn't grow hair back at all.
Hey Melis, I had an 3 hour upper lip treatment 9 days ago. Now my upper lip is super dark. Is this a possible long term side affect? What can I something to make it go away? I am really worried. Thanks for your videos.
Hi, 3 hours in one session for the upper lip is too much. I don't recommend doing any longer than 15mins with the Short-Wave Diathermy method. The upper lip is a very sensitive area. I recommend you wait for the skin to heal for a couple months. There is a possibility of scarring and pigmentation but it's hard to tell if this will be permanent or not. My clients have found that Azeliac Acid works well with reducing pigmentation. You can incorporate this within your skincare routine. I hope your skin gets better and hope you find a better electrologist to do your treatment in the future. If you have any more questions let me know.
It will go away. It will take time but it will go (I've been in this situation). To speed up the process, you can exfoliate the area with kojisan soap for example.
Hi, if you mean medication for pcos, I don’t take medication and it has worked for me. But I have to maintain the results by having top up sessions a few times a year. So it’s not really permanent if you have a hormone imbalance.
Generally, how much does it cost for complete treatment for normal amount of sessions (altogether), from you? please just tell me on here tyy@@melisatesbel
Hi! Yes it is permanent but if you have unbalanced hormones, you may need top up sessions to manage new hairs that may grow. But if you don’t have a hormone imbalance it is permanent!
I’ve had around 27 sessions over 3 years which got rid of the bulk of hair. I’ve been maintaining after that when ever new hairs grow (because of my PCOS)
@@melisatesbel wow this is awesome honestly it is so sad i recently 2 days back before went to a dermatologist she recommended laser over electrolysis saying electrolysis can cause scaring even though I have PCOS and full blown hair growth on face which i believe was partly triggered due to laser hair removal on face.
@@harshitakalra345 If you have already tried laser and you believe this has triggered more hair, I 100% recommend you go for electrolysis. Big question! I got blend electrolysis for almost 1 year and 6 months , and now I move to another place and they only do thermolysis. Do you know what type of electrolysis is bettter?
@@susievidal4134 Thermolysis is heat-based electrolysis, also known as shortwave method. A thermolyic epilator destroys the hair follicle by injecting each follicle with high frequency radio energy. This energy produces localized heat and weakens cells and surrounding tissues to prevent future hair growth.
