INFJ vs INTJ | Which one are you? Using a 'To Do List' as a comparison | First attempt at typing

I receive many questions regarding typing and to be honest I am not the best for this at the moment. I can be and I think I should be, but it is a very large topic and one I will slowly look into and learn. I thought I would throw my hat into the ring and try to do this using the simple 'To Do' list comparison.
I did not study for this except for a small bit I read from a post, so please go easy on me and please do comment where I am wrong and let me know what is spot on. Thank you.
I feel there are so many who do this already (Online) that I am having difficulty thinking I should do it, but your comments do help me when I am confused about direction of the channel. All comments and help are always welcome.

If the INTJ is making a list, we have already have an idea about what goes into that list. It is a rough draft first making sure we don’t miss anything. We will study and look up any info on that list. Once the rough draft is complete, we rewrite the list and throw away the old one. If something later on presents itself that needs to be added to that list, we will add it in consider that list the rough draft, rewrite it with the new info in it, then throw away the previous one. That’s it, it’s considered the hard copy. The way the list is written and organized really depends on the information and the INTJ. But it always be well structured, well written and very much thought about in the most organized way, bullet points included. It will take into consideration internal, external impacts, emotional, mental and physical aspects. In the end the list is organized , prioritized neatly layered and easily relatable to something you wouldn’t even consider to be anywhere near the original spectrum it was thought of at first. Each INTJ’s list is patterned in a unique way as we see the world. And we have no problem changing that pattern, rewriting all the lists to fit the new pattern, with out throwing away the old one (we might find some use in it later), no matter how big of an existential crisis it creates with in us. That is where our Se lies. It’s realizing how much work it takes to really get those lists done after rewriting the pattern so much, we can see the layers, connections and dimensions. That is why we’re able to make a logical futuristic guess or plan based on those patterns. Take if you will the grid you drew for the infj explanation. In each of those boxes each list is organized based on importance and personal structure. Not every grid will have the same pattern, but it will always be in a pattern. Lists that we feel fall under this idea or pattern are thrown into one grid, everything in a different pattern will be thrown into a different grid. Sometimes those grids can be combined to help the problem at hand. We’re just very multidimensional, multi list, and multi patterned thinkers.

@@marty_glenn Oh yes, but its never the content of list or writing it, it's the pattern that it falls under, that creates the crisis when we need to change it. When the pattern changes we have to reorganize our thoughts and think about what works with that pattern, why that pattern has to be set up that way, what made it change, etc. Sort of an emotional renegotiation with our mental state. We are rewriting the knowledge we know not based on time, but based on the content of the pattern. Its why we're always in our heads and masters of strategy. The patterns allow us to see all the problems and solutions when someone who has barely put any thought into is only taking it one problem at a time. It's true when they say that we feel that if "people really put any effort into thinking ...". If we get interrupted during a thought process, some of us get super annoyed and frustrated that we have to start over. For some of us INTJ's who are older, who have heard the same story and seen the patterns over and over, it's hard to imagine why people just want to vent when they can just solve the problem for good and save themselves the pity party. But don't get me wrong, we are more than willing to celebrate your success once the problem is solved, whether you *think* we helped you or not. It's also why we have no problem throwing away the whole person when we can see that the emotional difficulty being created with that relationship over time, is not going to have an end result and continue with the same cycles. It creates a sad frustrating situation within us, as it is we don't like feeling structurally trapped, emotionally. We take it as "this person doesn't want any help". And it's not that we're trying to be emotionally cold, we see the emotional pattern people get stuck in and it's just we know they are not or never will be at the stage to put any real effort into solving the problem and saving all that emotional abuse they keep putting themselves through, i.e. "this person is probably not going to be good for me in the long run, at this stage". But the people we do love and respect and people who show us that they want us there, we love endlessly and loyally, because we put so much detail effort into helping to write their life pattern and thoughtfully expressing how to help them, and trigger retrospection, to help them along when they get stuck emotionally and getting to know them better in all aspects. Based on their patterns, we know when that person is good for us. That's why get along very well with Ixxx, xxFJ. Especially those of INTJ's who do well with the emotional and would make really good psychologists. If that makes any sense.

Hi Irene. Start over... I saw that and I was like wow, that must be hard. i get interrupted and no big deal. I just pick it back up. I have to learn that stuff. I really do. But this caught my eye... "would make really good psychologists." I hope you are right since I have never met one yet, not that I have met so many. I do not see this: " "this person is probably not going to be good for me in the long run, at this stage"." That is very odd how that could be missed from one person type to another. The one-way aisles in the grocery stores thanks to the pandemic have done a real number on how I structure my grocery lists. Usually, grocery lists are so small I don't get the urge to rewrite them, but backtracking through a store while trying to social distance is an absolute nightmare. I jot down what I need as I need it all week, but right before I leave, I rewrite the whole thing for the most efficient pathing. In my mind, taking a minute to do that is several minutes saved weaving through a sea of chaos.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I’m so INFJ. I started laughing as you started describing the INFJ’s list. Just making a grocery list is like that, when I go to the grocery store I can completely in my head organize all the sections of the store in order.

It’s the difference between Ti and Te. We are called infj Bc of introvert (I) intuition (N) Feeling (F) and Judging (J) the cognitive function stack looks like this in order Ni Fe Ti Se The (I) tells you if the FIRST function is introverted or not just like the E says extravert. After that is the (N) that’s basically saying “in regards of the sensing and intuition axis (N vs S) what are you dominant in? Obviously Intuition so we get an N. Next is in regards of Feeling and Thinking what are you primary in? (F vs T) It always goes in the order of N/S first then F/T and last is J/P it’s always IN or EN, IS or ES, IxF or IxT and ExF or ExT. The Intj function stack is like this Ni Te Fi Se They are dominant Thinking on the Feeling Thinking axis (IxT or IxF) Back to Ti and Te Ti understands logic internally thus it bring and introverted function just like Ni understands pattern and concept internally and all it’s fingers 😂 That’s why Te dominants are ordered and detailed with what they do logically Bc it needs to be displayed outwardly in whatever form first before it becomes internal, thus extraverted thinking. You can’t expect Te to just understand something without, instruction, practical application, visual examples and ALL the details. Ti on the other hand understands by their personal system of internal logic. they learn by comparison of other logical systems that relate to it and personal perspective. Matter of fact all the four introverted functions work as internal web like structures that are in constant change and improvement. And the extraverted versions of them Te Ne Fe and Se are all the “collective” of them. Anyway Ti doesn’t need details at all Bc it can fill in the gaps. They don’t need instruction, practical application examples or anything tbh. Te can be super intelligent just like Ti But Te needs to be “taught” in a way that’s why schooling and degrees and credentials are so important to the Te’s such as ENTJ, INTJ and ISTJ and ESTJ Ti on the other hand doesn’t really need that in a way, simply Bc of this Who invented school? Who invented the system? The books? The chairs? Matter of fact what about everything ever discovered or invented? It all pivots on Ti. There was no class or instruction on how gravity worked before it was discovered. But it dosent mean that Te can’t understand or figure things out it just chooses the extraverted way first and then introverted second while the Ti is the opposite way. But they both need eachother at the same time, Bc the smartest man who ever lived would have been stupid if he hadn’t been to school or been taught something. I’m not trying to discredit anyone in anyway, I just wanted to point out why there was a T in intj to test my own “Te” skilled and oops I kinda went on a rant 🤣

The few times I have made a to do list. It’s in no order with just scribbles not even complete words sometimes. If I think of something else later, I’ll just write on the list somewhere on the paper. Doesn’t really matter where.

I got a glitch from someone who couldn't read one of the words I wrote in my own to do list, greater still it was a business plan draft, more like a first sketch. (She must be INTP like). I wonder what she might have thought of my favourite Playboy pics back in the day. No really, I don't want to see looking through her eyes...😉 Further more, she stated and depicted the whole 'menu' couldn't be recognised or translated into her language and culture and she then capitalised on this with the idea it wouldn't be plausible to the people's culinary tastes and attitudes. What do you (f'n) mean,,,? pasta bakes, pizzas and tacos. Boy oh boy, didn't I sign out !

This made me laugh a few times. Not because it was funny, but because it was so right. My goodness, my notebooks are exactly what you illustrated here. A list, with side notes, no particular order. Things are crossed out, rewritten, and added in between. Ha ha ha....i feel busted! You caught me! If anyone else looked at my notebooks they would think these are the scribblings of a mad man. Lists, thoughts, recipes, knitting patterns......ect ect. How in the world do we get anything done???!!

So interesting! As I investigate more I am certainly seeing a blend in my type - INFJ-T for sure! I make clean organized to do lists, but don't feel any need to do them in order, and just recreate the list as I check them off, or add new. I always feel better when the list is made and I have the details out of my head, but it is a very fluid list.

As an INTJ I approved your message. :) I often start with INFJ-like free form list, but almost always feel need to give it a clear structure later. This free form map came up mostly when I'm in flow between my Ni - Fi functions. Fascinating channel, I'm very grateful for your work!

You nailed it brother! I’m an INTJ and my wife is an INFJ. You explained our decision making to a T. My wife has a decision in mind she will state it explore other options but always come back to the first decision. I always call her on this it happens most times. I on the other hand usually have an idea in mind and I stick with it. I have also on many occasions forgotten something important on my list and either wrote it to the side as you did in the INTJ example or renumber my list. You are brilliant!

This is spot on! I always know what I'm doing and working on, but there is too much to think about so I try to put it down, then end up making multiple versions of the to do list with arrows and random notes that no one else understands 😂 but it makes so much sense to me. The problem is I do the same with notes in college... can never get it down neatly. It does result in what I want or need, though. 🤣

INTJ here. I've always felt that making a list/diagram/outline was just me taking all the crazy info and stuff in my head and making it organized. That's why, for me, my lists HAVE to be structured. That's the whole point of the list for me. Whereas (from my understanding) the INFJ can spit their thoughts out on paper in a more creative way, and it works for them, for me I feel like I am taking the crazy connections, information, tidbits floating in my brain and forming it into something organized and exact. It also helps me to not forget things, which (as others mentioned) is why I hate being interrupted while I'm thinking or making lists like that. I'm trying to remember and put my thoughts to structure,and interruptions make me so frustrated!

Nope. For the INFJ it is to make room and clear the mind of non important items and oh also so they are not forgotten on the way to the future thoughts. TYWC -Marty

INFJ. I had a roommate who would say things like "do you have your this or that", "did you do this or that", "don't forget this or that", etc... every time I was on the way out of the house. It would get me frustrated and cause me to forget things. Being interrupted while trying to form and carry out a list while on my way out of the house caused me problems. They did it because they thought they were helping, but it drove me crazy. It seemed they couldn't help themselves. I was late all of the time and forgot to bring things with me because of being constantly interrupted on my way out while trying to make and carry out a list. The more I was late and forgot things the more they thought they were helping. This happened until I started to find ways to prove that when they weren't home while I was leaving I never forgot anything and I was never late. Thank God they finally stopped!

As an Aspie, I am fine with the INFJ list style until I'm also expected to interact socially. I need so much processing power to 'human' effectively that without an organized list, I forget things. On the other hand, if I am working uninterrupted, I work effortlessly the INFJ way. Thanks for helping me see that!

If you could see my notebooks 😂😂😂 and yes I said notebooks (I currently use 3). As soon as you made the lines for the INFJ To Do list, I was laughing. My sibling is an INTJ and her lists look just like this for the very reasons that you described. When we both go grocery shopping, I am all over the store, sometimes revisiting the same department, getting what I need. She systematically starts off in a department and amasses everything from there and proceeds to the next portion of her list. She's so predictable (in this context) that I can do my own thing and I know where she is in the store but she always has to call me. The end result is usually her waiting on me to finish shopping. She spends more time in the departments (overall time spent) but her method is more effective (concrete list, no deviation) for getting the job done. I spend less time in the departments (average time spent) however my method is more time consuming (free flowing list, deviation) for getting out of the store.

What is funny is this.. This is where my channel is going and what I am going to do with it. Dive deep into the REAL life examples each type and point out these differences so that examples can be explained for better relationship understanding. I hope that came out right. TYWC _ Marty

@@marty_glenn It does. I try and interpret MBTI and the various functions by way of examples. It does me a great disservice if I cannot see the practical application of something so I enjoy your examples of why you do what you do as a fellow INFJ.

INTJ here, as some one involved in documenting processes, this is wildly accurate for how I break down steps and think. First (planning) I break the process down into repeatable steps, in executable order, then I will write down the broken down steps and toss out ineffective steps and replace or sub in time or cost saving steps. I'll also add in forgotten steps and renumber just as you said. Several years ago I tested as intj, but I had vaguely wondered if I changed any through out the years and this just eliminated those wispy thoughts. Great video!

Sorry Marty, no shredding from me. This segment reminds me of the struggle I had for most of my life trying to solve mathematic equations using the the standard "Order of Operations" model. As far back as grade school, I was identified as having a learning disability because of my difficulty, and often times my unwillingness to demonstrate on paper how to solve math problems. A teacher would often tell me "Yes, that's the right answer, but you have to show the work." I tried to tell them as best as I could, "This is the fastest, easiest and best way for me to get the correct answer." "So why should it matter?" It's that "dream like state" you referred to that is when I am at my cognitive best, which I'm sure you can understand. The best way I can explain it to mere mortals, is to tell them that there's a sensation that the answer is somewhere outside of me, so if I relax and open my mind, it will appear in my head. I went from being a dullard in grade school, to impressing customers at their front door with my ability to instantly give them correct change for their pizza delivery. Whether I get the to do list done in a numerical order or not, is now of no consequence to me now. For I am now assured that if I "flow" through my day, and stay in the moment, I WILL ALWAYS get more accomplished. I am no longer dependent on the sign on my bedroom wall that states: FIRST pants, THEN shoes!

To Do List (Version/Volume/Mark/etc) As tested as INTJ over decades. My perspective on how I create “To Do Lists” A mockery of the list requires first a question, intent, or purpose. “To Do Lists” are a tool to create structure for efficiency and faster access, such as an index to a book, the key to the front door of a building, or a list of serial numbers to a library shelf. The list itself is a way to help the short term memory or the ram of my brain or computer be reallocated away to be stored for later use, so I don’t have to remember it, so it can be forgotten and acted upon at another date. The to do list is the opposite for me as you described at 10:04. “The, To Do List” is the starting point that jumps into the deep end of the known and unknown universe(s). It’s probably why it’s so difficult to start somewhere at times. Where I have moments where I’m at the infinite bookshelf and I’m unsure which book to pick out. I want to read and experience every book on this shelf. People in general are all picking and choosing at that same infinite bookshelf as well. I’ll look left, I’ll look right and people are walking away with copies of books from this shelf. I see myself in their shoes picking that same book walking away finding their place to sit and read. I want to bring the whole shelf with me, but in my feeble human frame I can only carry so much. If I try to take more than I can carry I drop the books and the stack of books disappears and finds its way back to the shelf. If your list is a funnel being used the conventional way where the large end sifts to the small end. I’m the INTJ that turns that funnel upside and looks out the small end to the big endless picture. I’ll even throw out that funnel and look for a bigger one to see more. The biggest question to the INTJ is how big of a funnel is big enough? The To Do List never ends. For this INTJ, I don’t know about the others. I want to become the list, the books, the shelves,... the whole library. Being human is very limiting. I wonder, no offence meant (I’m just playing with words), if INFJs in the context of MBTI are a “mockery” of a certain library where they seek out to become the truth and are in fact one of many libraries. Would you like to activate the contingency self-destruct for list Charlie [Y/N]... This list will now self destruct in 10…9…8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1...

I went like "oh my fckng god!!!" several times during this video, this is unbelievable. A million of situations from my life just flashed before my eyes where this was so accurate. And people tell me I'm not organised but I can see totally logical structures in how I write things, not only lists, but the thing is to one point on the list, in my head there are hundred other tiny details related to it in real life so I put on paper just a "note" but in fact each note in my head is already interlinked with others on the list plus those hundreds things that I don't have time to write down or others don't get it, but in my head they exist and I can also start working on whatever order of those things in the list, while keeping all the others in my mind and it's all interlinked. I feel other people don't get it. Then they slow me down if they only go step by step. So i prefer doing things on my own. I'm an infj.

I liked how you described the INFJ 's introverted thinking (Ti) as a little matrix box in their head at 7:36. While describing INTJ's extroverted thinking (Te) as an efficient list, although they often times forget to add some details that can derail them during real life implementation. Great job on the window mirror effect. I look forward to watching your other videos.

As an INTJ, I can confirm that I think about my to-do list before I start to write it down... I mentally enumerate all the "items" and assign them their importance. After that, I start to write it down in the order of importance (but usually I don't put numbers at all). Sometimes, when there is really too much stuff to do and my brain feels like before exploding, I enumerate directly on paper, then rewrite it in a more organized form... :D And if I have to add something after, it can basically appear anywhere, it just has to be visible that it was added after and is out of the initial order of importance :) Then, if I complete a task, I cross it out ... if there is too much scratches, I encircle the remaining tasks, so they can be more visible :D In the end, it can look quite messy, much more messy than the nice intj to-do list that you draw :)

I would go nuts and could never spend that much time and if the list started to get so buzy and messy then I would have to re do it or throw it away which is what I normally do. Not always, really :) Actually, it depends on how much the list is important for me :D Sometimes, I just throw it away :D And you're right, I often redo my to-do lists if it becomes too messy or out-dated and I need something more clear and actual :D By the way, all this takes minimum time, it's not like I'm thinking about it for hours :D

I was thinking about an idea few days ago. The way INFJ functions during normal days may be called as "planed improvisation". As an INFJ you firstly simulate all the possibilities in your mind and then you just go and adapt to the situation by applying particular patterns you already had created before. But maybe this all is just a gibberish which came from a young mind.

This is actually more like a video perfectly explaining Ni vs Si lol... An Ni list vs a Si list... Si is more ISTJ... INTJ and INFJ will both be in that first list, but Te/ Fi vs Fe/ Ti morphs the Ni. Love your videos BTW. I'm an INTJ and I love when people explore ideas to this depth. The fact that the videos show active exploration and struggle with ideas instead of dry well rehearsed facts is like watching someone in the process of pushing at the forefront of their ability, to better themselves in the moment. That is one of the most interesting things to see people do in my opinion.

@@marty_glenn I don't know if this will of use to you, but on this page there are two quick lists. One is a description of all the cognitive functions, and the other is a table showing which functions each type uses and in what order. These charts/ system I think are too rigid for Jungs actual theory, but it works for Myers-Briggs. Hope you find it useful :)... Also I don't think I know more than you haha. I think we just know different things. Hope to keep seeing great content

Woahh!!! This is from a few months ago and it pops up in my feed: this is almost EXACTLY my to do lists in my bullet journal. Exactly the system. The only other thing I do is I have a lot of daily to do’s that I like to still bounce between but with a bit more of a linear pattern, and because I already know what I have to get done, I have a little line of tiny boxes that I assign a specific space in my head. The first box is brush teeth, wash face, floss, take dog potty, and so on, so on. ‘Til 34.

What I typically do Marty is when I have a task list after working it and have some leftovers I got a clean sheet of paper clean slate so I have a new list to add new tasks and it doesn't look like s*** I always repaper the leftover list... And whenever my paperwork gets clogged up but like the first one cuz you're just working things out on that and it's full I will take the leftovers write them on to a new sheet and look at all that nice clean room to work with I hope you agree with me lol love David G

Enjoyed this, but I think this has a little more to it. FYI I come in as an recently retyped INTJ (thought I was INFJ for years), who has ADHD, so I have an extreme love-hate relationship with to-do lists. Both INFJs and INTJs plan in their heads (introverted intuition), so the difference is introverted and extraverted thinking. INTJs with Te will automatically make to do lists - externalising their planning. It will be structured, but not necessarily straight away. An INTJ would continue to develop it until it's the best version they can work with, so they may make a some messier drafts like your INFJ example. It would also be uniquely suited to them for maximum effectiveness. An INFJ would not naturally make a to do list. If they adopt the process, they'd likely never settle on one particular method, and probably rewrite it a lot as they keep thinking over internally. I think the difference visually would be how the list looks before you write any items on it. An INTJ would make a spreadsheet format, categories of importance etc. An INFJ would just grab a random bit of paper and write, then rewrite, then find something else to write on next time. Or maybe they'd adopt a method recommended to them, without doing much to optimise it for their own use.

Yup. INFJ here. You described my 'to-do' lists (plural). I actually brainstorm my 'to-do' lists so I have a complete absence of hierarchy in them, but I do things in the order that makes sense to me (likely the grid in my head 😏). Things that aren't done are added to the new 'to-do' list (also brainstormed).

Also, I feel like I've met or known INFJs. I really felt we complimented each other well. We were either great friends or even managed to be attracted to one another. It's almost like INFJs and INTJs have just enough in common to relate well with one another, yet just enough different qualities that they challenge each other and can shore up each other's weaknesses (assuming they are both mentally stable and mature enough). Immature INTJs can be absolutely off putting to people-and I say that because I am one and went through some awkward stages.

What is the difference. The INFJ cannot think without the intuition. The INTJ will be able to think because the Fe is not there. It all depends on how weighted the person is. Like for example: I have a difficult time on the a lot thinking but give me time to being Ni and, well, I guess my channel videos say it all. Intj, mine is steps I know I need to do to accomplish a certain project in a timely manner. After it gets done, the item got canceled or thrown away. After all the steps get done, start more items. Not necessary in 1-2-3 manner, but will do it according to energy level, coordination with others, and time efficiency.

At school i also never rewrote the notes taken during lessons, while a entj friend of mine had to do it. I liked to read and study all the stuff and structure the notions in my mind. I didn't like to put schema on paper, really non Natural to me. I tried to rewrote my notes one time and completely lost the flow, the impulsivity of the First writing at lesson which was more helpful. For the to do list, i almost dont do that, if i do i write stuff in no order on paper to Remember to do all that stuff. Maybe i also write in Pieces of paper and never find again. If i did some of the task i think it Is likely i throw all the list off and rewrite It to give me a sense of what i still have to do.

I did the csjoseph test and got intp. I left a comment on why his test system is faulty in my opinion(I left it flexible bc theres a change I may be wrong, a thing I wont admit easily, despite wanting to be honest as it is one of the things I value and see as b&w truth). I usually get infj/intj. I did many tests. I keep the ideas in my head but I tend to forget. I make to do lists trying to be ordered and when I mess up I get angry but I just erase and write over bc I didnt really wanna rip notebook pages . I read on functions and I realized I might be intj bc I relate a lot to the description, but theres still that intp doubt(even if I dong rly relate). Not sure what to take your video as...om very skeptical. Not sure how it can be accurate without knowledge of types. I have a tiny feeling too there's some reverse psychology there when you put yourself down saying thing like "just shred me". I dont trust people easily.

INTJ's have extroverted thinking while INFJ's have introverted thinking. This means that INFJ's will arrive to a conclusion seemingly out of nowhere because we do all the work in our heads, whereas extroverted thinkers like to show their work and the steps of how they got to that conclusion. INFJ's like to know the HOW and WHY behind things..we are seeking the ultimate truth and build large frameworks in our head so what we do and say makes sense to us. We look for inconsistencies and weaknesses in every aspect. INTJ's are seeking WHAT works in the moment and it needs to make sense to the outside world, hence the list making. Think of it like a scientist vs an engineer. A scientist will create and connect theories and have great insight which are internal processes, an engineer on the other hand will build things based on functionality which are external to himself and anyone else can be able to jump in and take over so to speak. This doesn't mean that INFJ's can't be extroverted in their thinking, its just counterintuitive for us because it wastes time to have to show our work to someone else when it already makes sense to us in a much larger system that they wouldn't even begin to comprehend!

To add to that, INTJ's have introverted feeling, whereas we have extroverted feeling. Our focus is on others while their focus is inward (more self-centered). So you could say extroverted feeling to us is what extroverted thinking is to them. INFJ's are concerned with the tribe's feelings and creating harmony, whereas INTJ's are concerned w/ their own ideas/way of thinking as being functional, acceptable, and understood by the tribe.

It's the creative flow, with elements related, but ultimately time, reality, energy, etc. many variables can affect or or be best shifted thus enabling or presenting more efficient path than one might "ideally" try to perfectly pre-plan. I see it somewhat as the simultaneous recognition of the elements or puzzle pieces and goal(s). @@marty_glenn I guess I'm lucky, according to those personality tests I'm a INFJ but F is at the 1% level so I guess I have the best of both. Like a cusper in astrology. But a question flowing the same subject; would you say an INFJ, because of the free flowing thought pattern, analyzing and distinguishing a wider variety of information categorizing them as relevant and irrelevant toward the conclusion. But keeping the irrelevant information in a kind of a holding pattern until new information makes it relevant. Whereas the INTJ because of their structured mind set would always dismiss the irrelevant information to the degree which they would not ever come back to it. Which would make the INFJ's thinking pattern much more adaptable!

I have a binder full of rough drafts of to-do lists that look like scattered thoughts. However, many of them are repeat lists that are structured slightly differently. I tend to like to redraft my lists over and over and over. It looks like a mess because I actually am trying to organize it. Grocery lists, on the other hand? Some days I'll just write it how it comes to me, but other days I'll actually rewrite the list by aisle. This has especially been happening during the pandemic because all of the aisles in the store are marked as being one direction only and the less time I spend backtracking down entire aisles I don't need things in, the better. Am I INTJ because I have the urge redraft my lists?

I have morning chores I do on auto pilot the first couple of hours I am up and then I sit to make a list for the rest of the day (I so ADORE making lists, ha!💕) and I will always write what I have done already just to check it off! My lists generally start out very neat and end up incredibly messy by the end of the day..so badly that I bought Frixion pens so I can erase some of the amending I do but it really didn’t help much. As an INFJ if I get super stressed I get even worse and end up with little pieces of myself scattered across all my projects and none completed.😱 I keep reading how all the most successful people have 3 main things they do daily without fail and I do try to stay with that but my list gets so long I get lost in it and if I get the least bit distracted, as wives and mothers do, I get crushed that I can’t finish like I meant to. I like to think I have INTJ tendencies but I am hopelessly an INFJ.

Hi Marty, just a question. I noticed you said that the INTJ helps to keep the INFJ grounded. I am doing a startup and I can see that it is difficult for me to stay in the "now". My wife helps me a lot to come back to the "now" (she is ISFJ), but neither her nor I are very structured. I am more to a degree. My one friend is an INTJ and I can see their structured approach to just about everything and think that this may help, or do you think that as an INFJ we can have success without involving the INTJ? My concern comes when the business scales and it may need to be very structured!

No. I am sorry. YOu as the owner of a business and an INFJ will make mistakes and do things that will cause your failure. You need someone who would die for you such as your mom or friend for life. Someone who will help you on the business side of things. Think shark. Think money. Think no friendship. Think win at all costs over customers. Think make profit over friendship. Getting my point? You need that to balance you and you need to know when to give in and be that way. I hope this makes sense. Questions let me know. TYWC - Marty

@@marty_glenn Thanks Marty. It makes perfect sense. Seeing from my past experiences of decision making, I can see how bad decision will repeat itself. I have been working hard to avoid emotional decisions (my F is 79%!), always giving time to cool down before a decision. Thanks again.

Hi Marty. I hope you're well today. As an INTP when I write a to do list, I just write a list. Are you saying with this video that INTJs are more successful in entrepreneurship than INFJs because INTJs write better to do lists? That's what I got from it

No. The INTJ is a better entrepreneur because they are not an INFJ. The INFJ is not a business owner. Steve Jobs lost it all because he was a dreamer (INFJ) and not a business owner. He gained it back because he was a dreamer and got the right people around him. TYWC - Marty

@@marty_glenn thanks for your message. Where I live, intensity is considered negative. I was passionate/intense before and it made my life harder. It can be boring at first not to be intense, but I'm in a much better place now because of my mild emotions. Maybe I'm more of an inTj than an F at this point? I get extremely drained by emotional people now. I see you're intense by the way you talk and by your gestures. Sometimes it seems you'll have a breakdown. Sorry, I don't want to offend you in any way. You have excellent insights in your explanations.
