The air usually clears as you get high into the mountainous North Country. Except during February, March and April. But it is still a gorgeous journey, especially for motorcyclists. Follow along with me for the day and enjoy our journey to Mae Hong Son. This time though I am taking public transportation.Hopefully soon I will get enough donations to put a down payment on a van and really be able to show you a lot.So let's go see what Mae Hong Son has to offer.

I was looking forward to watching this when i woke up this morning.. Another great trip JC, yeah the winding roads weren't very good for me i made it therea pick up truck i was in the back of it for the first part then i had to sit in the front i wasn't looking very well. Once i got there i was fine and we explored the place and surrounding areas.

Hi JC, 3 great videos. I just returned to the States after 3 months in the Pattaya area. Had plans on going up your way but never made it out of the Pattaya area. Hey Raymond, I think that either Cha Am and Hua Hin area would be fine for your ability to breathe. During that time there was always a fresh sea breeze.

JC, been watching your videos several months, my nostalgia for Thailand. taught at Mae Fah Luang in Chiang Rai for 3 years, and 1 year at Khon Kaen. truly dying (spiritually) back in the states; want to retire in Thailand, thinking of Cha Am (the recent videos were great!) --- problem is, I developed a serious breathing problem after a couple years in Chiang Rai, and never breathed fully in Khon Kaen, and wonder if Cha Am is going to be any better (smoke wise). I know you said "smoke."

Hey JC, love all of your videos. I see that you had your "assistant" along with you on this trek. I wonder what other titles she might have. Hehe ... She is very pretty. Maybe JC is looking for another wife. Hope to see more of her, if she might be a special lady in your life. Keep making the videos. We enjoy them. Wishing I was there too !! Hey JC, another great series. Really appreciate your insights. Just a suggestion...since you are using Chiang Mai as your base it would be helpful if you gave a reference as to the locations within Thailand in relation to Chiang Mai so that one could have some idea as to where these places are without having to go to Wikipedia and look them up. Just a thought.

@retirecheapjc I did some research over the weekend.Seems like you can get a little one for round 20,000 without land. Can you find them cheaper? I know it's best to get a condo jf your Farang but I have loved Thai houses for years.I never realized we had this in common.Cheers.

Hey JC, another great video, thanks! If I may inquire, I am sure that traveling with a Thai assistant does make your trip much easier and more pleasant. About how much does one pay for an assistant per month? I only ask because you stated twice that she was an assistant (not a girlfriend or a partner). @kosamui A lot of times this all means the same thing. See my video "mutually beneficial relationships". You can get someone to help you do "whatever" for between 6500 and 10,000 Baht a month.

JC-- You say you have a tax I.D. or license--do you pay taxes on money you bring into Thailand? You say you've been there for twelve years--I'm surprised you still feel a need to rely on your Thai assistant to facilitate communication with the locals; I would think your Thai would be good enough by now and I would hope that mine would be, will be.
