Check out our exclusive member site: goo.gl/M0nMT5 Living or retiring in Chiang Mai seems to be what retirees want to do. Granted, Chiang Mai has a lot to offer somebody looking to settle down in Thailand. But due to the recent floods and problems in the Central and Southern parts of Thailand many people, including Thais, are moving to the North and to Chiang Mai. Couple this with the desire for Thais to live a more middle class lifestyle complete with a vehicle and Chiang Mai now is experiencing challenges with overcrowding on the roads and more pollution. As I say, "there's always an option", and that is why I want to show you all the other great places to live in Thailand and in the neighboring countries. This time my road trip takes me to Chiang Rai. Chiang Rai is further north and closer to the Burmese border. I haven't been there for a few years and I'm curious as to how it has progressed towards a more retiree friendly city. Join me on my road trip and let's see what Chiang Rai has to offer these days.
Please become a friend or subscribe to this channel and you if can, link back to my website I'd appreciate it.

Wonderful video JC I enjoy the veiws they reminded me of the Apaplanchan mountians in Virginia. I enjoyed the road tips that will come in handy. I am glad to see you on the road with the Ripper Mobile, the van looks great! I will love to see Chiang Ria and the coffee farm also say hello to Steven for me. I will donate to the Van when I can afford it again, right now money is a little tight. JC be safe and enjoy the Ripper Mobile it will add to aid in providing great information! Thank you!

Wonderful to see you back onboard again! I'd like to cast my vote with some others here who suggest that you attempt to focus on what it is that you are seeing and enjoying as opposed to focusing ONLY on the one square foot of real estate otherwise known as your face. Don't get me wrong, 'tis a lovely face, but we're all 'over here' dying to see what's 'over there'!!! I've noticed A LOT of travelers who post vids making this mistake! We wann see what YOU see! OTHERWISE GREAT!! THANK YOU!!!

I think it works JC. If one is observant, you can see the countryside out the side window. So we have a conversation with you, while we CAN see what you see. Actually better, I know what a road looks like, it's the countryside I want to see.

@alabamabregan I hear in the burning season the air quality is better than Chiang Mai. And in the mountains the air quality is amazing. Fresh and cool.

These types of questions deserve very detailed answers and that is why they are answered in detail in the membership site along with detailed visa, relationship, business information and a lot more. Sorry.

My focus isn't really tourism. It is to help give people in financial crisis options on where they can live a good life on what income they have. Thanks for watching and supporting my project.

JC, Are you driving... and video blogging... and working the camera...and wearing your earphones all at the same time? Glad to see you stopped before you texted the member. As SoonToBeExpat mentioned maybe just aim the camera out the window and concentrate on driving. Beautiful scenery and gives a good view of what the countryside is like. And would hate to see you crash your Ripper Van into something. (I can only give unsolicited advice because of my 'moderate' age.)

the blue signs are informational signs. They usually will tell you where there are waterfalls, temples or things like that.@fgleich

To me my videos are like conversations with friends. If my friends just looked out the window while I talk to them I'd be disappointed. I don't pretend to be the Travel Channel, I am trying to give information to people in need and have them share my life. Just so you are a little more clear on what my intentions are. I try to balance the two. As you could see I cannot just take my hands off the wheel and change the camera position. Remember these aren't scripted. Sorry you are disappointed.

how will you shower and get clean each day with a van, if you are in a park where there are facilities but if you are in a city how will you get things done each morning and night ?
