Jewelweed Salve and Tincture, Identification and Facts:
We take a look at Jewelweed this week and go over identifying the plant and how to find it. Take an up-close look at the trumpet-like flowers, leaves, and exploding seed pods, which is where they get another name, the Spotted Touch-Me-Not.
Once we have collected a bunch of Jewelweed, we show you how to make two tinctures and a salve for prevention and relief of rashes and itching caused by poison ivy, stinging nettle, and some bug bites.
Before picking any wild plants be sure to do thorough research and make sure the plants have not been sprayed by any chemicals.
