Funny Story: This was the first game grumps episode I showed my dad and he loved it (he actually had played an earlier "Jordan vs" game and knew exactly how unfair these games could be.) A week later I texted him that I nearly aced a test and then a speech and he replied with "YOU GOT THE GRAPE!" I was so happy and we continued to speak in references of other episodes I showed him the entire day. His phrase of choice was, and I quote, "I'm Larry f-ing Bird bro!" EDIT: I remembered he also explained why Jordan wasn't able to do like 3-pointers and shit in the game. Apparently, if I understood correctly, the programmers tried to implement the players' current stats but ended up making it incredibly unbalanced. Essentially; whoever didn't get Larry Bird was fucked, since he had a high average of 3-pointers, and Jordan was really good at like the regular baskets and something else that i forget at the moment.

Everyone has a different sense of humor, so it's hard to cater to all of them at once. It's kind of like the Mickey Mousecapade episode. Some people like drawn out jokes, others don't. Personally I hated the joke the first time he said, so naturally when he repeats it for as long as he did, you could probably guess that I hated this episode. I thought it was executed a bit better on the Mickey episode than here, even though that got a bit annoying as well. I'm completely fine with other people liking it, as some people love drawn-out humor. It tends to be hit or miss for me, so I didn't enjoy this that well.

July 17, 2014 was the day and year that two prestigious basketball super stars Jordan and Bird settled their score with one another Stakes were high. At least that is what the spectators thought, though this turned out not to be true as Bird gave Jordan what some would describe as the: quote en quote "Slam-down" Some witnesses report Jordan started to show signs of dementia and possibly schizophrenia as he was losing to bird, claiming that there were grapes on the basketball field and eventually thinking that there were grapes on Bird's trousers. Despite this, Bird continued to slam the plays and fans were treated to a disturbing game that went bad, very fast.

I think it's a little different. He was doing the same voice the whole time, but he was at least saying some different random stuff. And it still gets pretty stale by the end. The grape thing started out unfunny. Then stayed unfunny. That's the consensus opinion at least. Most people loved the Mickey Mousecapades right away, but it got dissed quite a bit, too, as I recall. The Internet hates on everything. I miss the 90s. Ha.

Comparing the amazing mickey mouse vid to this is like comparing apples to... grapes. The mickey mouse video was parodic of a general set of people who appeared copying the AVGN, referencing the type of comments that they make.It was funny because, not just the delivery, but picturing an actual person making this commentary unironically. But it was variety of comments and jokes stemming from that, and so it didn't grow stale. There was a funny voice yes, but it wasn't just "hey let me say grape in a funny voice over and over again" like this is. What is he making fun of exactly?

I don't think it's too unreasonable for him to have started goofing off here. He started falling behind and Dan had a distinct advantage against him that he tried to eliminate but couldn't figure out how to. It's just one of those things where you're doing a task and things are so insurmountably stacked against you that you just give up on doing it. Danny never got traveling penalty, and had a significantly higher 3-point shot accuracy throughout the video, let alone shot accuracy overall. If there was a way to make the shot more likely to go in, and it wasn't just pressing the shooting button and hoping it worked, Arin definitely tried to find it but couldn't.

Sportsball info: A"Blocking" foul (not penalty, this isn't soccer) is when the defensive player impedes the forward motion of the offensive player through physical contact. Arin was traveling because an offensive player cannot control the ball, jump, and return to the ground without either passing or shooting the ball. "Charging" is when a defensive player has established a position on the court and an offensive player runs into him (that one wasn't in the episode but I threw it in there because I like ya)
