Jorge was beloved by all, except Pedro. A core member of the Yankee dynasty and a catcher who hammered baseballs from both sides of the plate. Here are 10 of his finer moments in pinstripes. Hip Hip...
I don’t think he was ever appreciated by the Yankee ownership. The way they treated him at the end was disgraceful and so sad. Game 7 ALCS 2003 v Boston. That bloop double into short center. Perfection.
#4 stands out for me. I watched it live. Yanks were down 0-2 in the series and that home run was the turning point. He hits it right as the commentator was talking about taking it one game at a time. The jeter flip play came later in the series.
Posada hit the most impressive home run I’ve seen in person. In July of 2005 he hit one into the 2nd deck of the Home Run Porch in Arlington. I was up there sitting in Right-Center field. It whizzed past my ear, went through the tunnel, and hit the back of a wall with a loud “thud”. It’s lucky someone wasn’t standing there or else they might have been dead.
Gotta love how Derek Jeter is always the first one to welcome his buddy Jorge back to the dugout after he sends one out of the park. That's a true BFF right there.
I remember the #3 one like it was yesterday. Yankees trailed that game like 8 or 9-0 after the 2nd inning and came all the way back, took the lead, lost it, then jorgie hit that walk off, it was unreal I was like 12 and I was going crazy my dad was like “dude ducking go to bed” lol
@@ericmonaco4509 yeah but people don’t acknowledge him as a hall of fame candidate and a lot of people don’t even think his number should’ve been retired
I was gonna say, “am I drunk or did I not see Posada’s 2003 ALCS Game Tying Double in Game 7 off of Pedro?!”.. Then I realized I must be drunk even tho I didn’t drink because this is clearly Top 10 Home Runs... I’ll just go sit myself in the corner, don’t mind me...
In my opinion #3 from 5/16/06 should've been number 1...I watched that entire game against the Rangers live as a kid, and that comeback was absolutely INSANE. Additionally, one of these 10 should've been the 2 games (back to back days in 2011)in which he hit a grand slam each game after being benched for poor performance. No disrespect though, this was still a great video and I got to see some homers I never knew existed from Jorge!
Good take. With most of these players the #10-7 slots are sort of based on personal preference. I did struggle a bit with what his #1 should be but for me, postseason homers will be above virtually anything done in the regular season. For the #1 spot, that homer vs the Twins just after A-Rod tied it was a dagger. It kept the momentum rolling on that '09 championship run.
7 Curto I feel you. Most of the playoff homers from him in this video were from years where I was too young to be invested in them. As for 09, I definitely watched those games, but I think my memory of Arod stands out so much more from that year that Jorge gets overlooked. Rest assured, definitely a big part of that 09 team
These are always good. But how come his Game 6 2003 ALCS is in the top 10 for a game they lost and not his Game 1 ALCS homerun from 98 or any of his homers from the 90s. I mean he hit a huge homer in the game 5 clincher in 99 as well. Are we not old enough to remember or are we slacking. Do some friggin research. He even hit one in the 98 world series, albeit in a blowout win.
Just my opinion on these. All the homers you mentioned were lead padding. Important/big homers for sure, but not as big as pretty much any of the ones on this list. I also try not to put any homers from L’s but that 2003 homer in the moment was a huge one. All up for debate though, again these videos are all just one mans opinion. Plus I was born in 96 so I actually don’t recall watching most of these. You clearly a big Posada guy though I respect it
@@7curto Fair enough. I am 90s guy so I remember every moment of that run. The best game though was game 1 of the 95 Division Series. A forgotten classic and I never heard the Stadium that loud.
He put home runs on the list that either tied or won the game. If you are already winning and hit a home run it’s no where near as impressive as hitting a game tying or game winning home runs. Even if you lose the game.
Lol "Posada, deep left field, one to nothing, New York" is such a boring homerun call for game 3 of the World Series. C'mon Joe Buck show _any_ emotion besides sighing before saying New York
@@JHardyExTReme Underrated is correct. 1. 4:27 2. In Game 7 of 03 ALCS, people tend to forget that it was Posada who tied for Boone to walk it off in extra innings.
