I'm with team square crop on this one because of the closer feeling and a little less busy without the overhanging branch, even though that does add depth and works in the portrait version. Gorgeous light and color!

Amazing results from the short time you've been out! I like both crops but I prefer the vertical one. And that's the reason why: I really like when the light comes out from one of the 4 corners of a picture! 🤩

Short or long, good to see you shooting regardless! Life can get busy, I haven't been able to get at all recently myself. It's a close call between the two but I'm leaning towards the square crop I think. Although I don't mind that branch peeking through at the top on the portrait version! I don't think it's too distracting. Great stuff!

Great stuff Rauri. Both were great images but I think I prefer the square crop photo. But like I said, both were fantastic. Had a nice Nigel Danson painterly quality...and I say that as a compliment as he is one of the only big name YT photographers that I think is any good. Really enjoyed it mate! Wait, am I the only one who noticed the red coat ghost lurking near the fence? Great video Rauri. Youre right, sometimes it can feel clunky the first shoot after not shooting. The photos are dreamy and fun. Nothing wrong with a short video!

Hey mate, good to see you back out doing your thang. Portrait for me - although it's a close call, just feel those reeds on the bottom left are a tad messy in the square.....although I'm being picky in order to make a choice. Nice little location and nice little vlog :)

Great shots. The side light was beautiful. I actually didn't know you could get behind that silo. Easy access? I've only been there a couple of time because my son rows at the Wyaralong Dam.

@@RauriBarron I've been to Wyaralong twice. Once at night for some (very unsuccessful) astro, and once for sunrise. Both times we stayed on the road side haha!!

@@MeasuredLight Haha it’s a tricky spot! I went once to scout and got some shots I loved. Went back with a solid idea in mind with Ok conditions and it sucked 😂 this time was ok but I didn’t shoot much… it’s not easy!

@@RauriBarron I agree! I was in a spot yesterday above the tree canopy and I liked a bit of a zoomed in view of them, and a square crop just seemed to work so much better given there was no foreground. My legs after my outing yesterday are feeling as good as after our trip to Chalahn Falls! 😅

Rauri I've shot there before and its a hard location to get an image in my opinion, but you came away with a great image looked like a painting mate, also had that crazy skipping guy with me too haha.

Thanks Jeremy! It’s a tough spot hey? I’ve been so many times and come back with nothing, only two occasions I’ve been happy with what I got and this was one. I’ve heard rumours that this skipping man lives in the bushes and stalks landscape photographers… just a myth though. 😂
