Fantastic tips Rauri! Many avoid heading out in harsh, sunny light but you've proven here that great images are possible if you know what to look for and how to adapt for the light. Image of the single tree and ferns is lovely, I like you showed the RAW file too. The black and white shot at 6:50 is great, shooting into the sun there worked really well and I agree, the glow kind of gives a hazy, foggy effect.

Rauri - these are excellent foundational tips that can help a lot of shooters enjoy their photography more. We all love dawn and dusk, but there are plenty of satisfying (and portfolio-worthy) scenes to capture during the day. Great video, mate. Concise, professional, engaging - you never disappoint. 👍😄

Great video, Rauri! Those were excellent tips! This is a good reminder that you can find photographs in any condition. I will sometimes focus in on intimate shots because sometimes I find that because of the sun on the close ups provides more contrast. Thanks for sharing your outing!

Love the (video) shot at 0:46 - so simple, but so nice! The comparison around 1:45 really demonstrates the difference between backlit and frontlit scenes nicely. Love the backlit shrubby plants in the first shot. Love the teaser for the disaster video. I'd never seen B&W photos from you - I like a couple of them. Nice one.

I think you mailed it with those tips. Shooting towards the light with the Sun high in the sky for backlit subjects I find most effective. Summer where I live is similar to yours in that we get a lot of clear blue skies - working with the light is the best option.
