That is a really good point. It's partly why this game piqued my interest. I think we are on the verge of seeing big companies recognise that smaller projects can be very interesting to gamers (and thus very lucrative)

Those kitchen scenes reminds me a little of Fraggle Rock, when they had to sneak past the Gorg to see the Trash Heap.

havocgr1976 so would you buy the Order 1886 simply for its impressive graphics. Genuine question. For me gameplay is more important than graphics so I'm curious to know if you'd buy this simply for the nice graphics and atmosphere.

mitch-bittens First of all, he wasn't even talking about graphics. Second, he wasn't just talking about the art design but also the fact that the game runs really smoothly and has no bugs. That's really rare today in games.

What the other guys said, and no I would NOT buy the Order 1886, that crap is just an interactive movie.I do like telltale games though which are kinda like that, but although they got meh graphics the story makes up for it.Also amoshpere is important, and hard to nail down correctly.My point was that even if I DONT like the gameplay I still want these talented guys to make more games so I ll support em.

havocgr1976 exactly, this game is perfectly optimized (my PC only meets the minimum requirements and it runs at 60fps with no drops, it's incredible), and the art style and atmosphere are gorgeous! I just want more of it...

ACG wow, can't believe I've got a reply :D. You have inspired me to do reviews in which I adopt your style of focusing on individual aspects of the game. I've only done 3 reviews so far but I've learn't so much from you. there's literally no other reviewer focusing on sound,music and voice as much as you do. I really want that to become more of a trend. Also i noticed you don't do many Nintendo reviews, which might be because of their ridiculous partner program. That being said getting your opinion on 3DS, Wii U and Switch games would be quite interesting. Stay awesome looking forward to a great year of reviews and blogs.

Agree with you. This reviewer at ACG is very good and I love this channel, well-rounded arguments etc. but the only point I didn't agree with is the value. In the UK its £20, so it's priced pretty well for an 8-hour game. I personally try and get 100% achievements/trophies on every single game I play so I can probably double that. Like you said, games like Ghost Recon: Wildlands etc. which are good but not great are coming in at £80 by the time you include the season pass and I'd much rather spend my time with a game like this.

In all honesty this guy is like a definition of a good youtube creator. He creates extremely good and informal videos, they get straight to the point, he is 100% honest (from what I see) and at the end of the video he doesn't beg for likes like most people, he just says "If you liked this video, give it a thumbs up, if you disliked it, give it a thumbs down", like reminding people that the option is there to thumbs down the video because he isn't scared to get dislikes, honestly I really respect that.

I adore games like Limbo, Never Alone and Inside, so this is perfect for my needs; Atmosphere and a sense of Adventure is 'everything' in a Game - if it's lacking in Mods, Big Boss Battles and Bazooka's? then that ain't a problem.

love this game... it's really good.. the only issues i ran into was occasionally falling off things i was walking across( beams, pipes etc) due to the camera.. and enemies sometimes being able to magnetically pull you into their hands even when your out of reach... still loved it though.. a great game

I'm thrilled to hear more about this game. I loved Limbo and waiting for the right time to play Inside in one solid sitting. This has to be on the list now. Even with a low difficulty, I look forward to playing these tonally quite dark platformers. The simplicity of the mechanics means you can just allow yourself to sit and become immersed in a thick atmosphere that very few other video game genres can make as enveloping. I know it's individual taste, but I'm psyched. Cheers Karak!

Totally agree, a few years back indie game base price was $15 and now they are on every platform besides PC it makes sense they are $20. However, those who have been paying these types of games for years will never buy them at that price so it will always be a wait for sale.

I really appreciate your honesty in your recommendations. How you personally couldn't recommend this as a outright buy but you realize that for some people that this title will be worth it regardless. Been Waiting for this review 👍 While I'm buying this I will say that the price is a bit taller then some may want, so I can understand why you chose this as a "wait for sale". I like quirky games like this and hope to see more been improved. Currently playing A Rose In The Twilight on the vita and I must say I do enjoy it. I would like to see a side by side comparison of the the PC- and the Switch version. But it's too expensive on the Switch anyway. I love the Switch but the games just cost too damn much on that console. Especially ports of older games.

The only big problem I have with this game is that there really isn't any replay value, other than going back to the levels to get the collectables. It's certainly one of those first time experiences that you don't get to feel again after beating the game once.

It looks good. Certainly fits into that genre nicely. If it's a bit on the easy side, well I can probably live with that. Might end up playing through it completely which sometimes hasn't happened with other games in the genre.
