Phelous and Film Brain tackle the greatest film ever where DMX fights an alligator head snake. (I think there’s a few) / phelous www.phelous.com Originally aired: May 25, 2011
I love how all these crossover episodes all begin like bad fanfiction. Filmbrain walked into Phelous' hotel room. "Film Brain! That isn't how hotel doors work!" exclaimed Phelous, in his usual outraged voice. ...that or the Scholastic novelization of this episode.
I thought, they would draw a picture of the serpent eating ITSELF, so it has to do that. That would have been a CLEVER way to get rid of that thing and a nice little reference to the ancient ouroboros-symbol.
It would've made more sense if the drawing was done poorly, so it was a generic car with vaguely human shapes inside. Then the snake would've been a little hazy on who to kill and just gone after anyone who smelled like "car".
Ah then it would have been innocent people having nothing to do with it getting killed then the dumbasses that unknowingly committed vehicular manslaughter. That would make it comically worse 😅
That reminds me of this sci fi original movie about a giant snake that kills a woman by decapitating her with its tail. When the investigators found it they said something about it looking like a homicide because it looked like it had been chopped off with a knife on one fell swoop. I thought to myself that the idea of a person decapitating a person in one swipe with a kitchen knife was far more absurd than a snake with a guillotine tail😂🤦♀️
@@smileitsjustagame2937 yeah even with a machete it takes a long time to cut the head of a person unless it's extremely Sharp then you just need one good hit.
RIP DMX U Brought the World Some Great Albums, Great Songs, And Great Films Romeo Must Die, Cradle 2 The Grave, Exit Wounds, Never Die Alone, Lockjaw, and Belly
I wonder if that would work? Like you have to be thinking about the person you want dead or it can miss the shot,so would drawing the person be more specific to the book?
Fucking blip won't play over half of Phelous' classic episodes. I've seen every episode ten times, but have not been able to watch many of them recently, so this is so great!
Blip sucks. They always have issues with some videos. It's great to have these videos on youtube now that blip is going to shut down even if youtube's copyright idiocy forces reviewers to alter some stuff on the videos. But luckily they have their own sites so it's possible to see the original unaltered versions there.
I'm sorry, but the scene where his wife gets run down actually caused me to crack up. If they were trying to make that look tragic, they failed because it came off like it was played for laughs.
First of all if you mean everything after the silent killer era yes and second of all it's not your theory that is like the rule number 2 of how to make a slasher
Buğra Ege Baydar Really? It seems, to me anyway, like it's only been in the last few years. Like they actually try to make the killer sympathetic and the victims unsympathetic so that you end up rooting for the killers. The worst offender of this is pretty much any such movie Rob Zombie is involved with. Especially "Devil's Rejects" where the ending is done practically dripping with sympathy for the killers and the main police man after them is practically insane in wanting revenge for his brother. I recall, in the commentary, them talking about getting the audience to root for the killers and how proud they sounded when they talked about it. Just seems weird.
Wrath's Attack No it's not. It's horrible. I wish someone could come along and show the current crop of horror movie makers how it's supposed to be done. I especially have issues with Rob Zombie movies because he's really heavy on making the killer the focus and wanting the audience to cheer for them. I remember the commentary for "Devil's Rejects" he (I think it was him) was talking about sitting in on a test screening the audience cheering when the big guy got the cop and they all got away (near the end) and how happy he was. That is so backwards, it's like Bizarro World or something. The killer can be sort of sympathetic and have a sad backstory but the heroes of the movie should be the victims. The characters in "Devil's Rejects" go around killing innocent people, one of them talks about having sex with a corpse and laughs about it and we're supposed to root for them?
Wrath's Attack Maybe but it was a bit too much. I can understand if maybe they were just misunderstood or killed people out of self defense or such (and that has been done too) but to make them just out and out murders who cheerfully kill random people for little or no reason and joke about having sex with corpses makes it hard to really enjoy rooting for them. I kind of felt dirty after watching "Devil's Rejects". I actually like watching it from time to time but I DO feel really dirty afterward. :) The only thing I didn't really get about "House of 1,000 Corpses" was the bunny suit thing. Other than that it was a neat throwback to 70's horror.
Wrath's Attack No, not the review the movie itself. :) It's so rigged to make you root for these psycho killer, corpse humpers and when it's done I feel the need for a Silkwood shower.
Ah, Lockjaw. Such fond memories of having my meditations being interrupted by jackasses pulling Lockjaw to the dock. With that book in your face you can't know how close it is to the dock until it's too late. I can't count how many times I got eaten by Lockjaw. At least I got enough levels on me to exact my revenge on it. BTW Lockjaw drops Lockjaw Hide Vest. A pretty good armor for low level char except for magic users. Also body parts from various races. Good times good times. Sorry had an EQ flashback moment.
So... why does he take out his frustrations by drawing an alligator-snake _as a full-grown man?_ Yes, there is vent-art and such a thing as de-stressing by drawing certain caricatures to symbolise your emotions, but that's not what this guy is doing. I could believe that the snake would represent his anger and frustration while he was a kid, but a middle-aged man doing _the same thing_ when the average person would be reeling from what just happened to their loved one? ????????????????? HELLO????????? At least he had the decency to try to help them after he realised that his illustrations were actually killing them.
i'm pretty sure he knew that thing made his dear old dad dear old dead so i guess it's analogus to... who'm i kidding there's no way they put any thought into this.
@Name.’s Pet Care: A utopia of pets Pumpkinhead is a 1988 horror movie starring Lance Henriksen and directed by special effects master Stan Winston. Lance plays a hillbilly whose son is accidentally killed by a bunch of 20-something douchebags. In his grief and rage, he consults the local witch woman, who instructs him how to summon a demon of vengeance called Pumpkinhead to destroy his son's killers. The movie boasts terrific practical effects by Winston, and great performance by Henriksen, who discovers he is psychically bonded to the demon and experiences the deaths it inflicts, causing him to switch sides and try to save the people he summoned it to kill. It's approximately 1568 times better than this movie.
Wait isn't this plot the same as the first "Pumpkinhead" movie? The characters accidentally kill someone and they're loved one kills them through mystical means. What a rip.
+Chris McWilliams That's what I was thinking nearly the whole time. At least _Pumpkinhead_ had likable characters, good performances, a great looking monster, and weaved a nice moral tale.
16:22 "It represents the Lao." HE COULDN'T EVEN GET THE LINE RIGHT! Haitian/Louisianan Voodoo spirits are called "Loa" not "Lao," you nimrod! Also, the monster looks more like an alligator with no body than it does a snake with an alligator head.
I think that with many big changes, the concept of a mythical snake that kills people summoned by a magic pencil (or drawing utensil, same difference) could be interesting.
you know I could understand the girl didn't want to go outside in her under wear but I wouldn't have grabed the shirt and put it on while running not just stay still and scream putting on a shirt.
What would happen if I wanted to kill the snake so I drew a second snake eating the first snake as the first one also ate the second? Would the snakes tag team me first?
16:40 "I'm sorry about your wife, but you drew us to death" aside from the hilarious sounding delivery, he sorta had almost every right comparatively because she and the other dumbasses didn't check nor care that they ran over his wife, also, something that I know was probably pointed out but to point out again anyways, HOW THE HELL DID THEY NOT SEE THE WOMAN IN FRONT OF THE CAR WHEN THEY RAN HER OVER?!? ARE THEY THAT BLIND/WASTED OR DID THE WRITERS (which is already quite obvious, but still) NOT CARE?!?!
I just realized that they put the lamp on the table so that you can't see the camera in the mirror and now I can't think of anything else and it's slightly distracting XD
I don't know what amazes me more, how by the numbers this crap horror movie is or how they STILL get everything wrong Hell I'm still not 100% convinced the dialouge was written by someone above the age of twelve and even then i'm giving waaaaaay to much credit, hard to blame dmx for not wanting to be in this shit, but that crack ain't going to buy it's self!
wait a minute a back woods hick loses a loved one in a accident and summons a super natural creature to enact vengeance this movie is just a stupider version of pumpkin head i haven't even seen pumpkin head and I'm pissed off
oh man that cabin they rented or w/e looks grody. i would NOT wanna sleep on any beds in there or sit on any of those couches D: and how did that kid have that pen for so long and only use it once? i would have used it so much lol
On top of everything else shitty with this movie I just realized this is one giant knock off of Pumpkinhead. Really think about it. we begin a movie with a flashback that gives us an example of the monster thats got wierd magic in its summoning. set in the middle of nowhere with some hill/swamp billy types, male protagonist loses family member to reckless young drivers and summons the monster to get revenge but feels guilty and tries to save the aggressors and he dies fighting the monster.
