You know your old school when you love those 12 inch versions way better than the regular versions. A time when some albums had only 6 songs on them and was any where between 6 to 10 minutes long and love just about every song aka The Time. I can't stand todays CD's where you have 20 songs that are about 3 minutes long and if your lucky you might like 2 songs. Songs these days as soon as you really start to get into it it's going off. Bring back those long versions...
Today's music does lend its self to extended versions. Can you imagine listening to an "auto tune' hit by Drake for ten minutes? That would be torture!
Loose Ends is one group from my days in the Marine Corps that I can never forget. "Hangin On a String" was the first tune that I heard from this group. Then later came "Hold On" from their second album. They had the sound of the day, only they did it better. Then" Watching You" hit the airways. It's hard to understand why a group like Loose Ends never caught on outside of the urban seen. They got a lot of airplay on the urban stations. Especially this tune.
@@melvinjohnson3600 Thanks for serving our country I respect any veteran from any branch a big thank you for your service ...much love God Bless you!!!.
Masterpiece of a CD! That whole side A is phenomenal because all the songs run together concurrently. The gem on side B is EASIER SAID THAN DONE which I stumbled on! Can I get a thumbs up somebody?
As I sit here bopping my head and remembering what I was doing and where I was doing it at when this was 1st out and I am balling like a freaking baby...Great Times....
I HELLA Feel You! I'm just listening and all of a sudden just got HELLA EMOTIONAL as I remember those days back then. What I would cover to go back to those years.
October 1988, sitting in the back seat by the window of a yellow band 25 seater maxi taxi (mini bus) on my way home from school on an overcast Friday afternoon at approximately 5:30pm. The seat is raised because there are 4 12" subs in a speaker box under there, and this song is banging through the system!
Kangol Bermuda Casual, acid washed jeans, United Colors of Bennetton, and a pair of Avia 880 High-Tops, was my outfit for 1988, and oh yeah " THE WORLD'S GREATEST ENTERTAINER, Doug E. Fresh, " Keep Rising to the top" in the Ghetto Blaster 💯 ❤

i paid 26 dollars for this Album the real Chuckeboo CD This group is not from the United States they From United Kingdom they went all the way to number 1 in the united states in the 80s successful albums to date! this is my favorite group of all times however the band is no longer hopefully someday they will tour in the future until then enjoy their classic that became my favorites right when slow down became a huge hit as well hugs too LOOSE ENDS !
Kevin Mansell , most of these sing groups, they're not from the US, but the UK. Many British singers come to the US. to acquires some accents related to hip pop music. when we see these singers talking normally with nice English accent. it's hard to believe, the sang those songs.
This exactly how I feel with today 21st century music. Anything under 6 minutes is not worth listening to. You just be getting in the groove mood and that's when it began to slowly goes back to nothingness. Boo on these young musicians coming up these days. To find great long playing music, I stick with the 12 inch albums. The best three rappers who made long playing songs are: Ice Cube, Eric B. & Rakim and Digital Underground. There's other.
Tell me something Why's it oh, so cold in my house I've been feelin' Like the whole world's been right on my shoulders Since you left There's been a black cat sittin' on my doorstep Was I hallucinating, cause I'm sure he spoke to me He said... _Remember the time_ ("I bet you remember..." OOPS! Wrong song! "I don't remember...") _You drank too much wine_ (But I was havin' so much fun, yea-yea) _Your secret phone calls_ (Just takin' care of business...) _Some things you can't hide..._ (I'll finish this later.)
Yeah, you got good taste. I've been on a little Loose Ends binge lately, and I just worked out the main chords to this song on my keyboard.. Pretty sophisticated.. Back in the day, they took jazz and disguised it as catchy R and B tunes! I miss those days.
Yeah they did but its horrible.....the best hidden sample is what you wont do for love by bobby caldwell for aliyahs hit track age aint nothing but a number. ...go listen.
