Carrier made an awesome RV roof air conditioner, they just didn’t do it for long. As soon as they stopped making them, the parts became obsolete. This AC has a fan motor that just hums when you turn it on. Can I get it running without any parts?

Well done Sir! WD 40 was invented in 1953 for NASA to keep the Atlas rockets from corroding. So, had that motor been sprayed with WD40 inside, it probably would not of had the problem. WD 40 is not silicone. It is not a lubricant because it dissipates.
@hillbillyrv
@hillbillyrv Месяц назад
Thank you. Most people want to argue with me when I say it is not a lubricant.
@KevinCoop1
@KevinCoop1 Месяц назад
@@hillbillyrv You are both correct! Water is a lubricant used in the right place. It just goes away, like WD40. So, it is a temporary lubricant, not a long lasting one. All I know is, if you spray it on the inside of your lawn mower deck every spring, you will not have all that grass stuck to it that rusts out the deck. And 2000 other uses.
@craigjohnson3603
@craigjohnson3603 Месяц назад
Good video, I agree with you on the WD. I stored my classic car years ago and sprayed the Cragar mags and a mechanic chewed me out and said do you want your wheels to rust? I then quit using it. In spring they were rusty. I now use power lube or anything else with oil in it. But it always triggers comments on YT.😂

Another great video Kenny. I’m about 95% sure that that’s a common motor in the HVAC industry. Depending on the voltage which should be 115 V and RPM of the motor that in the frame size should get you a replacement that would work if it comes down to it, thanks for the video. Have a great day.

A carrier motor should have a CW or CC on that label but then the question is, is that looking from the rear or front hmmm, I alway looked from the rear. A trick I used once, is use compressed air and blow the fan, saves the fingers. But another great job my friend.

Question Kenny please my 2007 class A motorhome used a Sur Flo 4048-53-E75 water pump . This is a 4.0 GPM 12V pump. I'm looking for a replacement the cost of the 4048 is like $229 ouch . I have seen the Sea Flo 51 for around $119.00 a lot better on price. I like the fact at low volume out of the facet is doesn't seem to cycle off and on. Seems to be quit as well since its in basement under our bed area. The psi is 60 on the 51 and 45psi on the Sur Flo older bad pump on the motorhome now. The 4048 is 4.0 GPM and the 51 is 5.5 GPM . Do you think the increase pressure will be a problem ? While I do have plex tubing I'm sure the connectors are plastic.

If it's a bad start cap, when he spins it it would start up. This is a bound/stuck motor. Best solution is to replace it. That spray oil won't last long. I've done it, just to go back and replace it a week later.
