I just heard this song for the first time today, not knowing the lyrics, I spoke in my prayer language with righteous anger. I praise God that there are bands like you that make loving Jesus normal. Thanks for not putting God in a box
I absolutely admire this song and this album entirely. It's all about spiritual warfare and this song is God's reply to Satan's arrogance and false sense of power. Praise God!

I'm not Christian I tried the church. But I can't escape the cult feeling. But with that said, I haven't given up on hearing His voice... I just haven't heard it yet. O Sleepers music really speaks to me whatever mood I'm in. It gives me hope that I will get to experience God's voice either in life of death. Until then I will search...
@@HmlsDarkOps its hard to find a congregation/pastor that doesnt ask so much of you, pressures you, requires or puts "rules" in that ultimately burns you out or feels like a cult. @@stang1973 I think I have resigned to the fact that I won't feel comfortable in a Church. Atleast not anytime soon. But I am completely comfortable using the Bible and its teachings through Jesus as my life's road map. I believe Jesus was real but I have immense trouble with his deity status in the trinity. Which also convalutes my thoughts on an all powerful creator. Only time will tell I guess....

suffering means patience according to its definition. furthermore longsuffering is longing for another. this longing is what keeps us from anger. that we wait patiently for Yahweh.
This band is very unique, their time signatures on riffs and drums, the way Micah screams, Shane’s guitar techniques are just something different all together is different than a lot other bands I’ve heard in the genre.

I saw these guys live yesterday, the lead singer is literally a freaking giant. It was awesome, he's really a nice guy too. I got to meat the entire band for a while after the performance. Got to play on the drummer's drums! It was amazing!

Bret Griffis They haven't made any statement or published anything since the EP in 2013. Micah has left. Some of the bandmembers are atheists now. So they are still touring, but.. they will never be the same.

Much arguing in these comments. Not going to add anything to them, only say this, I'm an atheist, no interest in the whole god and religion thing (nor do I care to hear the nonsense about them being different), I like the singer's voice and love the music, therefore I like this song and don't really care too much what it's about one way or the other. Don't care about the message, it won't convert me or change my beliefs or lack of them one way or the other, I still enjoy this song though.
First I want to applaud you because sadly, nowadays the atheist extremists are hogging the spotlight and giving atheists everywhere a bad name and horrible reputation- so good on you for taking the high road! Secondly you shouldn't worry about Christian metal bands secretly converting you :) A good Christian metal band has lyrics that help current believers feel closer to God, and nonbelievers see a more honest example of what Christianity is, contrary to what most news medias would portray Christianity as. There are bands out there that do want to convert (ex: For Today) but bands like Oh, Sleeper aren't like that.
This band is crazy! I didn't know too much about them till I went to a Youth Convention and some one showed me them. I am so glad they did, one of my favourite bands of all time!
i grew up in an abusive home and i'm not a christian, but the spiritual idea of 'god' suggests that everything has a greater purpose. i left home the first chance i could get and i believe that though my life is still in pieces years after, that i am stronger as a person for it all. i will never be like my parents. they unwittingly taught me to be a better person in the end.
