Awesome info. Same thing with my old Coyote on my On3 kit, small things needed to be fixed. I'm going to buy a 2v to Coyote swap later on, but seeing your videos is making me want to keep the 2v and run this kit. Car flat out works for being as simple as it is. I dig the pushlock fitting for vac lines too, definitely going to do that on my next car.
Just started watching your videos. Loving how in depth you get. I've been on the fence with this kit but i think I'm ordering it soon now. What I'm going to have to upgrade on it had been my biggest "Is it going to be worth it?"
Amen on the line blowing off! It happened to me. I ended up getting the MMR style of block Plate to do away with the spin on adaptor all together as well. It was dripping a bit of oil and I found it hard to keep it tight with the hoses on. I did keep the remote filter mount though.
Great build man! Which kit was it that you first purchased? Going to be doing a turbo build myself so i need all the advice possible! Thanks in advance
great video man. I don't have a 4.6 but your car is what I call a real down to earth vehicle that anyone can build. just subscribed so keep up the good videos and advise. only question I have for now is that you said that your turbo is a journal bearing turbo so what viscosity oil are you using and how big of a restrictor. I'm in the process of converting mine to a turbo setup that I will be piecing together. thanks
Your headers look so much better than my header. I have the 94-95 kit on my 95. Its welds and fitment to my trick flow heads suck. But the rest fits really well. I just blow out the seal on my turbo and about to rebuild it.
Andrew, Please be careful with that K-Member. They may have improved them over the years, but when they first started offering them I saw several on different Mustang forums that broke and a couple of wrecks because of them breaking. I'd sure inspect it every time I went to race the car just to be safe. Best of luck to you!
Thanks Andrew for the review im looking forward to getting this kit soon and good look on the fittings im sure it will help people out in your opinion whats better turbo or procharger turbo is cheaper
I've really been thinking of switching my power adder over to this kit. I just really love how my blower doesn't have any oil lines. However I know the turbo has higher hp potential.
This is prolly a stupid question but is there any way to keep the dual exhaust with the On3 Performance kit because I have straight back pipes with SLP and love the sound. Just don't wanna lose the traditional pony sound over turbo however the price for On3 performance vs. Procharger/Vortech is way cheaper plus power can reach over 400hp. @Andrew Lavender can you chime in? Also, totally helpful vids thank you
I hear good and bad on these on 3 kits a lot of guys will not install these kits here in ga I hear there better now I am just as curious right now I have vortec supercharger but I do wanna go turbo just doing research on this kit right now
Not looking to use their kit ..but I'm interested in a set of their turbos. Appreciate your opinion on their kits and the upgrades that you recommend 👍 .
Andrew, I have an 06 3valve car. I have comp Motha thumpr cams with Comp limiters. I do have blocks to completly do away with the VCT. I want my car to sounds good and I want some decent performance. Do you think I should sell my thumprs and try to buy turbo cams and if so,vwhere can I get a decent deal on cams for a 3 valve. P.s.... I do realize you have a 2v car. I'm just asking. Thanks bro. I love your vids and your car!!!
I got a question by the means of forward facing does that mean the headers are turned toward the front of the car ? I’ve seen your car in other videos you got a bad ass ride man
I hear that the oil filter relocation part in this kit still doesn't do the job is that correct? If so, what part do I need to order for that? I have heard on a few of the videos that there is a part that you can order from LMR? Is that correct?
I am currently buying a 08 Mustang GT off a friend of mine, and have plans of putting a turbo on it whether the cheaper on3 I been lookin at, or more expensive Hellion but I been concerned about 1 thing. The car has 125,000 miles, which ain't a whole.lot for that motor but I'm a lil concerned about how the bottom end will hold around 500+HP, will the bottom end reliably hold that? Would you reccomend that I just get a 400$ rebuild kit for it then Turbo it, or do I HAVE to get Forged Rods && Pistons to reliably hold that power? Thank you soo much for any advice I greatly appreciate it my friend! Seem like a nice guy, I'll definitely like && sub and try to follow you! Thanks, Max
So im going to get a stock new edge gt. Im newer to working on cars than most people, but im also going to buy the on3 70mm turbo kit and install it with my dad. What other parts are NEEDED on the stock gt along with the turbo kit?
You should let me help you with your hot/cold side parts. I do high temp ceramic coating (Cerakote Automotive) 300-2500 degree rated, air or oven cure coatings, heat dissipation coatings for intercoolers, intakes etc, and piston coating as well.
I've heard most of the shit talk on these kits was because if the first gen kit. What needs to be done suspension wise for stock cars? K-Member with coil overs?
About how much power are you pushing on what psi? Has anything broken in the process of pushing it if so I'd like to know so I can upgrade now before purchasing the kit..
Andrew Lavender thanks for the quick reply! That's amazing power! Any recommendations on what else I should purchase along with the standard kit? I'm looking for 500hp
you seem genuinely amped about a 2v kinda cool to hear somebody wants one most people just pass over a 2v like it has leprousy and jump to a 3v/4v car or spend bookoos cash converting a 2v to a 4v when they could spend half and build a 2v with equivalent hp/tq #'s without the headache of swapping
Google "On3 turbo kit". What kind of car do you have? I'm ordering a kit for my '88 GT. They start at a little over $1500 for '86-'93 foxbody Mustangs.
If your building a 4.6 I'd recommend a kenne bell supercharger not much cost difference with this really cause all the parts you gotta buy to run this kit does cost
I am thinking about getting this kit for my '03 GT and I was looking at the Ad on LMR's website and it said that it required a tubular k-member. Does that include any tubular k-member that I can find or does it have to be a specific member? I was wondering if anybody knew the answer to this question any feedback would be great. Thanks
Andrew I noticed that I have pink injectors on my 02 GT and my and I have a supercharger damper pulley harmonic balancer just waiting for a spare belt things that make you go hmmmm
