Nice work! Would like to see more of your personal By Vic cabinet. With all the new builds you're doing you're going to need a different name instead of Game Case Arcades. 👍🏻
It’s been a bunch of minutes since I messed with Pandora’s box but I do recall one version I had worked with joysticks AND gamepads via USB ports but they had to be dinput mode (like xinmos). But this as before they went android, like Pandora’s box 4ish…sad they didnt test it and you had to find out the hard way
Correct, upon putting the SD card in my pc and inspecting, pandora has 2 separate mame configurations... the free play has coin and start mapped to the same button... paid mode removes the coin from the starts. It's a pandora configuration issue and sadly you can't go into mame to adjust
I have a Pandoras Box DX and is the arcade version Jama Harness style. How brutal to do it as a four player. What do I need to do and what do I need to get VIc?
@@Vic_VP No it only has one USB for the Track Ball of which I use for the track ball and it has another USB and says it is for USB storage. There is also a Pandoras Box DX Special Edition I just bought and recieved last month that has 5000 games.
@@Vic_VP Thank you, I've done restorations on original arcades for a long time. Finally building an emulation cabinet, going wtih pandora DX based on your recommendation. The original boards are reaching a new level of scarcity, can't keep putting things on hold for them.
@@masterzohan9222 it won't really detect, you go into settings and the make the 4 players thing the controllers I believe Should be an area that let's you see amount of controllers
@@Vic_VP I was thinking that maybe the problem with the 3 and 4 player could indeed be related to the MAME version and Romset. The Simpsons and TMNT are both Konami.
@@shawnpaulzuccarellorizzo negative its related to the controller input settings.being unable to edit inputs in game causes the issue. This is why my pc and rasp pi version works in this situation 🤘
Never liked the Pandora's or game elf... clunky and sloppy interface, and now your video proves another point with weak 4 player support. You could do a simple custom Pi 'coin op' build with a limited list of the best arcade titles. Also remember you can go into MAME settings and switch coin chute to 4, 2, or individual etc... depending on the game. For example the Konami games I set to 4 chute individual as I used a 4 slot coin mech. Anyhow keep up the good work, much respect!
This is correct but you can't do this coin chute thing on a pandora box. Pandoras r very user friendly compared to a pi, and also are much easier / brick proof as you can simply turn on and off a pandora where as the rasp pi must be shut down properly to avoid SD card flashing
@@Vic_VP True on the possible corruption without proper shutdown on the Pi. But I don't remember the last time I have seen that happen. Also a simple SD card swap if it does brick is easy. I use attract mode front end for 'coin op' which allows you to hide all 'settings' only accessible by keyboard. So the player only sees game selections and nothing else.. which I would consider 'user friendly'
@@drewjbx228 eh not totally, also remember relying on a customer to exit and select different games is also a tedious task / confusing for a novice. My customers that got the 3b+ image I've had several customers brick the SD card. Unless control panel is wired exactly how others are then your theory is correct but not shutting down the pi correctly will have a high chance of bricking Many commercial customers want something simple plug and play which is why pandora is the best option
