My 3-year-old daughter saw this and clicked on it while I was out of the room. She watched the whole thing by herself, and now she can't stop saying "Penguin ball!"
Dunkey loves it when people think Bowser's Big Bean Burrito is just a joke. That's the best part about it, it sounds like a joke, but it's actually CBT in action.
A game with actual momentum that's encouraged to be utilized through level design, a very high skill ceiling and standout art direction getting overlooked (until maybe now I guess) because it doesn't have the blue rodent in it, so unfortunate.
I think this might end up being the third game Dunkey's featured that I end up buying because of his video. Ended up buying Neon White and Bomb Rush Cyberfunk after Dunkey grunted his way through those.
I bought Zeroranger because of Dunkey. Now I have Erasure living rent free in my head. Maybe I should buy Penny's Big Breakaway so it becomes a timeshare.
It's a little known fact that dunkeys child has now started a production company called 'little mode' who will be putting knack 3 into production this year
I’m not a major fan of the art style, but it’s not a major negative, and I will always take gameplay over visuals. This is a great game that deserves more praise.
Finally, we get to see Dunkey, a 90 year old black grandma, play a game where you play as another 90 year old black grandma. This is truly the first grandma type video.
It's really refreshing to se a video like this. No ribbing, no sarcastic remarks on the game, just dunkey enjoying a good ass game and making jokes. I don't really like platforming games but fuck, people that do are eating good with this one.
This is probably the calmest and most content I've seen Dunk be. Hearing him during the first minute talk about the movement of the game sounds so happy and genuine.
The sadness of this being a better momentum-based game than most modern Sonic games is outweighed by the hilarity of realizing there's no (game) penguin Sonic character because they're too evil. Thanks, Dunkey.
hot take: the core gameplay concept in all sonic games, both 2d and 3d (which is a momentum-based platformer, but _fast)_ is inherently flawed and sonic team has always just been trying their best with something that will never satisfy the entire gaming community
>creative and unique That was true of mid-tier games for quite some time now. They're only becoming popular as the major industry players are betwixt remakes and skinner-casinos with no 'fad' genres.
Disgaia had those murderer penguin demons... oh and Megaman 3 had the evil penguin bots in Gemini Man's stage... and Megaman X had an evil penguin guy. Alright you know what? This isn't new at all! Evil penguins are as old as video games! Remember Atari's "Penguin" for the Dollop of Icecream video systems?
two Dunkey videos in the same week feels like the first time my dog didn't instinctively try to take a shit on the floor and instead tried to go outside. Feelings of awe, surrealism, and joy to be there to witness it.
You know a game is good when Dunkey makes a video that's just him enjoying the game. This game reminds me of the glory days of the Gamecube. I want to get it now.
This is a good video. It communicated a lot about the game without actually saying any of it out loud. Very "show, don't tell." Well done, Mr. Gamer of the Year
This video makes me think Dunkey had the full intent of making constant jokes at the game's expense, but then started to legitimately enjoy playing the game
