The sloped platform on PS1 was patched out in version 12.0.0.
Can wall jump off the center pillar on PS2 only.

Theyre clearly completely different stages. Look at all those characters that have completely different advantages and disadvantages based on the platform heights. Make it so many stages we need four bans if we have to but we should be including all possible stages if they're different. These are very different stages depending on your character because of your inability or ability to jump to that platform or attack to that platform

@@SamiJ1508 the problem is that they are just way too similar, If you strike ps1 they can just pick ps2. even with the differences its not really a different stage.

@@kdngames8922 I disagree entirely. Obviously you just go up to 4 bans if you have to. Maybe I'm a player who's decided that stage layout doesn't matter that much. Or at least in this match up maybe it doesn't. Say put I play a tall swordy character and my opponent is a short character. I might decide that that means I should just ban all of the maps with the low platforms and not worry about layout. It makes the game more dynamic I think when I went through I had 15 legal stages with 4 bans for how I would do it. Maybe 16 if you include brinstar but I know that people think sharking shouldn't be a valid part of the Meta

I personally think looking at this we should run PS1. The fact that it's marginally smaller and the platforms are lower makes it a little harder to camp which is typically what dominates the meta.

I think that with it having overall more similarities to battlefield and fd, ps1 is not as good of a starter stage as ps2, which has more unique qualities.

I have to thank you for this video, but less so for the Pokemon Stadiums, but actually for the stage comparison tool, which has helped me prove to my friends that Battlefield and Yoshi's Story are different enough to be considered different stages. What has been harder to prove is if Battlefield and Dreamland are different enough to be considered different stages. I would like to know your opinion on this, do you think Battlefield and Dreamland are different enough to be considered separate stages?

Why not just always use both? We have the power to use and remove stages at will and since neither are objectively terrible to play on we might aswell just use both

There's already a lot of wide stages to play on. You may not care about this, but in a tournament environment, telling your opponent they can't pick Pokemon Stadium would just lead to them picking Pokemon Stadium 2 which is almost functionally identical. In short, it doesn't matter which one you use, just not both at the same time.

JoCyanide they have enough differences to be classed as different stages. The undersides of the 2 stages make the difference in some Matchups. So I think it's fair to run both, although it's character dependant
