You have a forest covered in glowing mushrooms and fairies everywhere, a wild west style type, caves, the dlc islands, etc. For Galar and then you have a past version of an existing region (Sinnoh) which has all sorts of references to what would become Sinnoh. Not saying GFs perfect since Galar was really linear due to its development hell but exploring mainly towns and hideouts isnt much "exploring"

I’m definitely not one to defend gamefreak but this game looks miles ahead of sword and shield, which isn’t a high bar but definitely an improvement. The fact that BDSP sold so much was what was worrying to me since those games are actually worse than the originals which is impressive considering they cost twenty bucks more and we’re made a decade and a half after the originals. This looks like the upgrade from X and Y to sun and moon which IMO was a very important jump for the series since X and Y were so bland and boring, just like sword and shield

The only gimmicks I've ever liked were mega and agile/strong styles. I like the gimmicks either fleshed out and very impactful like megas, or subtle and a small but nice feature like strong / agile styles

They’re never gonna top mega evolution but I’ll say this gens gimmick is ten times better than z moves and and still better than dynamaxing, but not gigamaxing

tbf I wouldn't call this a reskin. you get to add a whole new type for STAB moves onto your mons

@@imhaddanitattaxx4172 strong / agile styles felt kinda useless, when i used them agile very rarely gave my mon an extra turn if at all ever even being higher level and faster than their opponent. so i just used strong style to kill them quicker meh lol. meanwhile enemy mon uses agile style they be getting turns for days, overall it benefitted the enemies more than me

dynamax mechanically was better than megas. 3 turns to apply buffs, debuffs, change weather, and the battlefield. all great to set up various party strats even easier.

@@HyouVizer nah, Mega Evolutions we’re way cooler, to the point and allowed Pokémon to evolve if only in the battle beyond their normal threshold.

I don't think most people will ever prefer another gimmick to megas, mega evolution was about new pokemon which is what most people care about. And unless they introduce permanent 4th evolutions (which is so gamebreaking even gamefreak wouldn't do it) they can't do that again, gamefreak wants to make new gimmicks every region for marketing so we won't ever get something so well liked from most of the community unless they decide to bring back the old gimmicks.

This is just disappointing.. geez I'm getting tired of saying this.. especially when I've been a fan since the BC Era! Yah know red and blue! I was 13 when we got it in the states. Arceus is cool af for a grandpa like myself imo. So we went from pushing the hardware to the limit and being surprised with the results (Unova) to being underwhelmed and rationalizing how difficult it is. Imagine sticking with the Kalos art style but having a beautifully detailed environment.

@@biggs2560 I vehemently disagree. Voices are important, they add a tremendous amount of character and depth to the people you meet in the game. To not have them, in the very least in cutscenes, just makes the game feels cheap and the world feel lifeless. All RPG series have been moving in this direction, some decades ago. I'm playing Fire Emblem Three Hopes right now, which along with Three Houses must have hundreds of pages of spoken dialog among the cutscenes, story scenarios, and support convos. Pokemon now sticks out like a sore thumb, being one of the only main line series not to embrace it in any way. Yet another extremely jarring thing, going from XC1 (10+ year old game!) back to Pokemon last year (even if XC1's VA is goofy as hell, it is very memorable). If you still dont think VA belongs in a Pokemon game, I urge you to look toward Pokemon Masters EX (search for clips on YT if you don't want to support gacha or have problems with addiction). For hundreds of trainers, gym leaders, elite 4 members, champions, villains, etc. across all of the regions up through Galar, many for the first time. They even have voice actors from the anime for Ash and Team Rocket, and now have unique combination battle and win quotes between trainers depending on who you put on your team. So the main line games really have NO excuse at this point. (Also, an aside but Pokemon Masters EX has no doubt one of the greatest soundtracks of all time...not just for a mobile game, just in general.)

I like how koraidon runs, its very caveman low iq to not be able to use a wheel. Clever in my opinion. Not sure how I feel about the terra thing though. It doesnt feel like it connects with the region at all, really just seems like a gimmick rather than an inter grated feature

I don’t get too involved in making a fuss about the quality anymore since TPC will never listen. As long as they make bank that’s all they care about. If a game looks genuinely enjoyable despite its flaws, I’ll consider buying it. So far that hasn’t happened for me

It's actually goes with their whole theme of past and present. From how we got the themes of the professor with one wearing a caveman outfit and the other wearing a futuristic outfit it connects with the legends in that way. One is walking on all fours instead of using its wheels kinda like Flintstones era and one is using its wheels transforming into a motorcycle which is more like a light cycle almost.

Your comment makes no sense when they show the wheels spinning in the trailer itself, even a side by side showing the wheels and running animations, the hat thing is dumb and is just a merch gimmick and really does make dynamax look amazimg, quality wise he's talking about games graphics and i agree with him its on par with acreus, still has the bad textures etc, it definitely isn't using the switch's graphics to full potential, especially when there are better looking games by much smaller studios with no way near as much funding, there's no exscuse. Graphics don't make the game but as a multi billion dollar company having indie dev studios show you up on graphics its embarrassing. The motorbike Pokémon personally is my last straw, not only did they not add different mountable pokemon, they made it so the ones you can mount are legendaries, completely removes all feeling of rare or legendary if its a game mechanic with only one option, I would love to roll around in the arms of snorlax or ride rapidash and burn my ass...

I mean we used to have hidden power for that third type concept but they got rid of it to save time on programming and balancing... people eventually stop growing and have matured, pokemon stopped growing and it's now time for it to mature.

I totally agree! I can understand this subjectively being disappointing to some, but I loved everything in this trailer! I even think the new ability looks and functions in a cool way! I love riding the legendaries, the new Pokémon, and the different paths you can take. It’s certainly not mind blowing, but it looks really good! This year honestly has some of the best lineup of games: Xenoblade 3, Bayonetta 3, Splatoon 3, a new Pokémon generation, God of War, Horizon, 3D Kirby, and even more

Yes it's like poop in that it's brown but so is chocolate, Skido and Gogoat both have brown on them, Litleo line are mostly brown (and if you call them poop...by God...we will not be getting along), Sawsbuck, and a TON of other awesome stuff/pokemon. Yes these Wooper aren't the best shade of brown but hey it's not their (the Woopers') fault.

Nothing to do with age, but more to do with game experiences in general. Personally, I've played and experienced TONS of better games (compared to recent pokemon games), hence the better standards and higher expectations.

I feel the same way. I kinda gave up on Pokemon main titles a while ago. Pokemon just does not excite me anymore. ever since Sword&Shield, my enthusiasm has chipped away little by lttle. I bought Ultra Sun and Moon, didn't finish it, bought Shield, didn't finish it, got PLA, loved it (but knew we weren't gonna have another game like that), and here we are now with Violet and Scarlet...

You kidding? This game is massively innovative for the series No set story or path to follow, gyms can be beaten in any order, local/online multiplayer throughout the entire game, 3 different stories and a massive open world to explore, this is something the Pokémon games have never had

@@Nahtan123 from the looks of it, one of those stories seem like racing or something to do with stupid cartoony looking cars, so that's like a 3rd of the game just gone for me, the gem gimmick looks lame as hell, the fact that the legendaries are just glorified bikes really kills the entire game though, simply cause I never like to use the legendaries in my playthroughs, now I'm just being forced to use it, doesn't even feel that special for a legendary, it's like the same shit with the latis in ORAS where they just get handed to you and don't feel special, the raids could have been cool but they are tied to the new stupid looking gimmick, mulitplayer could be cool but what is that exciting about having your friend with you when you can't really do anything cool together but potentially battling, even then how many times would I do that throughout the story, like I don't even need to be in the same existence as them to battle them so what's the point, graphically this hame just looks so rough, all the realistic textures but when you catch catch pokemon the ground looks so low pixelated it hurts, I don't need it to look real, I would much rather it look more like the anime, with basic block colors for textures and cell shading, I'm not saying you can't enjoy this game but please have a bit of sympathy and don't try to devalidate actual issues others might have just because you don't agree with them, a little understanding can go a long way, OP and I should be able to express our distaste for these games as much as you should be able to praise it

@@Nahtan123Tackling gyms in any order sounds interesting but if I can't go to the 8 gym with my lvl 5 starter and that gyms does not adjust to my progress of having 0 badges the feature is just pointless. The online will most likely only be use to get Pokemon from the other version and for raid battles. I honestly doubt you will be able to do any story content with your friends. Also if I can't battle online against friends in the open world and we get teleported to a isolated stadium that would be silly. If the game ends up being truly open world like Xenoblade X that would be great since I would be a upgrade from the segmented areas in PLA witch I think where really good on their own. Unfortunately I am pretty sure the catching mechanic of PLA got scrap for the inferior collided with Pokemon to start a battle. Look I would concede that the things you mentioned sound great on paper but I honestly think they will end up mediocre with half baked features that will leave a lot to be desired. Hopefully I am proven wrong and the next info drop gets me hook.

@@JBzuccI couldn't agree more. I think the issue is that Pokemon games get release so fast nowadays and they end up half bake. Also they hardly iterate on the good stuff, one game you get this amazing feature and in the next is just gone for no good reason. I am not much of a graphics guy but to me the game just screams unpolished, which is ironic given the whole gems aesthetic.

@@Alpha1JCDJ the multiplayer has already confirmed to be the entire game bro and since wild battles take place directly on the map there's no reason for us to believe that multiplayer online ones won't take place in the overworld where they're initiated.

Out of all the pokemon games these have been the least interesting to date. Strongly considering a skip

@@StealthNinja4577 yep same. I totally cringe every time they Crystal Morph lol. Thank god for Coromon, and TemTem. Monster Viator is not bad for the price as well.

@@killgronia5815 it's just a shame that since pokemon got big now they're acting like it's just a pet simulator game. Kanto was about growing up on an adventure running into people stealing pokemon and abusing their power and influence and standing up for what's right. New region is about friendship and hanging out with your friends online instead of irl while in school, remember don't be mean to the kid trying to be bullied.

@@StealthNinja4577 Agreed. I am highly disappointed in GF. Especially since we all know what Sword & Shield could have been. They will never beat Yellow and Soul silver lol. I could play those all day.
