Nice one Robert, good review of 993 ownerships costs. Gotta say, well cheap compared to an F355!!! Bought my 993 in 2020 for a very reasonable price and have probably spent around 10k on it since then. Mind you that did include having the all calipers refurbed and painted silver, plus all the backing plates (old ones were completely rotten...). Last job was replacing the completely knackered aircon condenser before my wife and I went down to Devon for a week (needed it, lovely and cool!). Checked the fuel fuel burn between Devon and Kent and it was just over 27mpg! Almost fell over at Sainsbury's petrol station...Only a wee bit better than the 12mpg I get from running around locally in the 456 - haha, buy those oil company shares Neil...Anyhow, love the news from 'up north' , cheers from a (distinctly chilly) Otford, Kent.
Wow that's quite a lot Neil! It's easy to spend money on these cars but they're definitely worth it. There's always a little list of things to do 🙂. Silver callipers sound nice. Is yours a C4? Cheers from a rainy cold Glasgow 👍
@@robertmcgowan877 Nope, just a plain old rep's special base model! Just figured that as I was paying out to refurb the calipers, might as well have them in silver rather than the original black. Sorry to hear about the weather up there, it's lovely down in Kent....Must shoot off, want to watch the Japanese GP.
Hi there, can you share how does one check about this “campaign” for the cars. I’ve had mine for 4 years now and will definitely love to have that wiring loom taken care of to get rid of stuff I don’t need or simply refresh. Already spent a lot refreshing her. Thanks 🙏🏿
I got my 993C4S new and the most expensive repair was a lower gasket change with some other minor things 2.8k USD I tracked it extensively the Pirelli don’t last long and not cheap
If I could have afforded it I would have bought a 993! I bought a 05 997 recently with 77k miles and I was like you ! I said am going to this and that but really it doesn’t need anything! I will lower it to get rid of the gap but that’s it!
Gosh! Lovely driver’s car - well loved but I’m surprised it’s sparingly used. I have a few classics and regularly exercise them on long road trips. Let me know if ever you plan to pass her to a new keeper! I’m sure there will be a queue, but I’m staking a claim!
@@robertmcgowan877 I’ve got a Porsche 996 C2 manual coupe 1997. Which suspension set up do you suggest. I have standard 17 inch alloys on the car which I will leave on
