Imagine if Joe Tryon gets going. That defense gets scary with Lavonte and KJ in the middle, Tryon and YaYa flanking, Verse and Hall rushing the passer from the edge, Kancey rushing from the middle with Vea on early downs, Whitehead and Antoine at safety, and Dean at corner. I could very much see the Bucs taking a corner to complement him in Round 2, bc ur asking a lot from Zyon McCollum to progress.
The signing of Mariota, a running-style QB, suggests WAS may be getting ready to draft Daniels. As a rule of thumb, NFL teams want their starting and back-up QBs to play the same style of offense - such style consistency makes things much easier for everyone involved.
Agree but there was no reason to get rid of Howell. He was cheap and a good qb. If they draft Maye then it may be awkward since both were teammates at NC. Perhaps that's why they got rid of Howell.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the KC trade up for Mitchell here. Take a year to learn how to be a proper Deep Threat from Hollywood, learn the underneath routes from Kelce, and pick up a couple of tricks to finding holes in zones from Kelce and Rice? Man he could be something special
I’d rather have Penix and whoever we draft in the first rounds of 2024, 2025 and 2026 but to each his own. Remember the Chargers and Giants are not gonna help.
@17:38 ... Can we talk about that play by Penix!? Murphy, who is a Pro Bowl Caliber DL, dominates a Double Team. Free runs at Penix, who makes Murphy completely miss. Then Penix fires an absolute Dart, off platform, to a WR moving in the opposite direction of his momentum... Penix has to be a Lock 1st rounder.
A few Broncos trade partners I've done in my own mocks: Lions coming up for Mitchell (or other CB1) post Sutton incident Cardinals coming up for Turner/Latu/Verse Packers coming up for DeJean or other CB You may well have considered all these but just food for thought. I think the first two are somewhat realistic given how aggressive both Holmes and Ossenfort have been previously
I actually really like this smock draft and I think it honestly could go something very similar to this in April. Coming from a Steelers fan though, even if we do need a future right tackle so Broderick Jones can play his natural position we need a center more and I think if we have our choice we're going to choose either JPJ or Barton out of Duke.
I think the Patriots would trade up a few spots for penix to get the 5th year option. The Lions, Ravens, and 9ers would all be willing to move down a few spots to pick a 5th since those teams are mostly just taking BPA
@@dexterriley Jelani Woods missed the entire season with injuries to both hamstrings. Started with one out of training camp that kept him out through mid November, then hurt the other one while rehabbing the first one. It would be fantastic if he could stay healthy, but it would be dumb to count on that, and it would be dumber to pass on Bowers if he's there just because "we have Jelani." Plus they would play two entirely different roles anyway -- you could easily have both on the field at the same time
I agree with your take on Daniels. Not sure why he’s being projected to go ahead of Maye at this point but it’s probably just smoke. As a pats fan, I want them to either stay and take MHJ or trade down with the Vikings for 3 firsts (2 this year, 1 next).
From my understanding it’s coaches that aren’t crazy about Maye. Most feel he needs to sit a year or two. They love the potential but his floor isn’t very high. Outside of Maye’s wow throws there just as many head scratchers. Yes Maye has a stronger arm then Jayden and his size outside that there not far apart. The whole he doesn’t throw over the middle is over blown because he does it’s just why do it.
I know this might be a tough thing to do, and you dont have to, but id appreciate it if you could elaborate on why you think Kevin Oconnell is such a good play caller. I dont doubt you, just would appreciate great insight.
It goes beyond what we fans see in the results on the field. KOC designs good plays, and situationally, puts the team in formations that should help the team succeed. The results and execution haven't been exactly what we want yet. But the concepts are there. He's not perfect, by any means. He's definitely made some bone headed calls, but he's also learning along with the team.

Love your videos, Marcus. Regardless of what the Patriots do, I pray that they take guys who will make us a competitive and contending roster long-term. With that being said, if I was the Patriots GM: 1. If Drake Maye is at 3, you take him 2. If Maye is gone at 2, I’d 100% take MHJ at 3 and Penix at 34. I’d also much prefer we take QB at 3 over trading down with a team like Minnesota. This team needs WR badly and the top 4 (if not 5) will be gone by 23 if we were to trade with Minnesota.
I like that Marcus says chargers don‘t need to focus on WR early, cause the draft is so deep and by pick #33 the top 8 guys are gone 😂 I think, and Marcus does aswell, there will be a heavy run on WR in the back half of RD1. If you don’t want to pick the crops, you have to come first to get served first. Easy as that. If you look for WR2, yeah you can get a good one Rd2-3 but Chargers need a true ONE!! Bigger need than a luxury pick for offensive line having 6 starters for 5 positions while having maybe 1,5 for 3 (WR1-3)
Why would the Cowboys draft Worthy? They have Cooks ( still with speed) Jalen Tolbert, Jalen Brooks who they like, and Davonte Turpin who they are figuring out how to get him more touches. M.I.M.S.
I love the trade up for AD Mitchell for my Chiefs. I agree with you on thinking he likely won’t be around at 32 and we need a big body receiver with growth potential on a cost controlled contract and we can bolster the OL later in the draft. Hollywood Brown, Rashee Rice, AD Mitchell is a hell of a receiver core and I do think Kadarius Toney will have a bounce back year as a gadget player for us at the very least. We are playing with house money. 2 seasons ago we traded Hill and prepared for a bit of a step back as we retooled with such a young defense and waiver wire receivers and won another ring. This year our young defense lived up to what the front office envisioned and then some but our scrounging for WR talent came back to bite us and we STILL go back to back with a “historic” draft for both of our positions of need to look forward to?!? Beautiful.
What do you think the titans do in the nightmare scenario of alt, nabers, odunze are all gone? Fuaga or trade back? I'd assume trade back since that would mean we have QBs on the board and teams with ammo to jump each other
Trade back to 13 with Raiders and take Brian Thomas Jr so Colts don't get him 😂. Get LT in 2nd round like Suamataia.. or yes just go with Fuaga or Fautanu
As a giants fan, ideally I want us to get Nabers, but if he’s gone the only QB I think makes sense for us is Daniels. He can develop as Jones finishes out this year of his contract, and we can still get a WR or Corner in the second round.
am I the only 1 who think the Falcons should really consider trading down. Realistically they could trade down to the mid-late Teens and still get 1 of the top 3 EDGE’s. and maybe use that to move up with their 2nd pick and get another IDL.
The jets are moving away the wide zone stuff and heading towards a gap/power scheme. And just bc they signed two tackles and have two 4th rounders behind them, they are just 1 yr deals so tackle is still a prominent need. Bowers is highly unlikely.
I think the Lions are in play for a trade up. They don't have a ton of glaring holes so giving up a 2nd rounder to go get a Terrion Arnold/Quinyon Mitchell or Jared Verse/Turner/Latu would be a solid move IMO.
I gotta say, as an Eagles fan I'd be absolutely thrilled with that pick and trade. It just feels like a smart move for their side (not sure how good it'd be for the Hawks)
That would be the dumbest option out there for the Hawks….one center drafted last year, one signed as a FA….two or three other OL signed as FA….plus Bradford last year….the problem last year was the D…..need DL…..
Just a heads up on the Colts with Ogeltree he’s on the commish exempt list for a domestic incident. The charges were dropped but still that was over a month ago and he’s still on the list 🤷🏼♂️
I’m sure he will be off that list soon enough, we’re a decent way through free agency and Colts haven’t cut him yet. He’s our best blocking tight end anyway so we should keep him considering all charges were dropped.
I’m getting Higher and Higher on Penix. He honestly aside from Caleb looks the most NFL like and ready although would need to land in a situation that has a good oline so he has his own drawbacks. But honestly if I’m a disciplined team I’d definitely take a shot on him. Obviously not 1st round though
As a Commanders fan I like that second pick as I prefer Maye over Daniels. The Commanders haven't tipped their hand yet and they might not have even made a final decision yet even if they are leaning one way. All that said, I am hoping for Maye and thinking it will more likely than not be Maye. That said if it is Daniels I am probably going to buy in as I am going to give the new front office the benefit of the doubt unless they do something really unusual.
As a Lions fan, I was thinking CB at 29, but Holmes is giving me the trust to believe he’ll find someone to fill that CB need after he drafts best available talent. Keion would be a great addition I wouldn’t be mad at.
I don't have as many comments about who teams did take as I do about who they didn't. Looking particularly at the Steelers and Chiefs, are they just not going to have a center or left tackle respectively? I know Dan Moore has been a problem, but if the Steelers don't take a center in round 1, they'll have to trade up in round 2 or find a way to play without one.
100% as a Pats fan Harrison is the guy I want at 3. Tbh Harrison is the guy I’d want at 1 too. I think he’s quite literally the best almost sure fire player in the draft and makes any situation for someone to come into at least tolerable
As a Bengals fan, I love the idea of getting more picks and getting a separater, but Ladd and 3rd +4th, isn’t cutting it for me. I think you kind of have to take a shot and just take Jerzhan newton or Guytob
One issue with the Aiyuk deals was the fact that we would be staring down a 30 plus mil deal for JA and Yuk is gon want a huge deal too, it can happen but Baalke threw some gross contracts around and we pay the price
If you wanna take a RT for the raiders with the notion that they want someone who can run block, then Fuaga makes way more sense. Mims will take time to polish up. More traits than actual tape and readiness to play at high level immediately
Keon Coleman is interesting, he ran a bad 40 but from what I hear his GPS is actually much better than the 40 time would lead you to believe. He could bully a lot of corners on the outside, especially in Detroit with all the weapons they have in the middle of the field demanding attention.
Ain’t no way chargers have two first round picks and don’t get a WR. Just impossible. I appreciate the gassing up of Herb a little bit at the end, but they just can’t afford to wait.
What are your thoughts on the bears trading down from pick 9. Odunze is great, but if they can get a 2nd round pick to move down and still get a WR + and edge/CB I think that would be better
The bears are most likely not gonna be in position to get a young weapon like odunze for as long as Caleb is their qb, he’s wr1 in most draft classes shouldn’t pass on him especially when you can get good edge rushers later in the first
No shot the Bengals are drafting McConkey in the first. They believe in the two receivers they got later last draft (chuck sizzle and Iosivas) and will most likely give those guys a chance with Gesicki being basically a big slot. If Johnny newton is there they draft him plain and simple
I don't really get the argument for the patriots at 3. You say JD isn't worth pick 3 but then he goes a few picks later. I think if a team ranks a QB as number 6 in the draft they would just pick him at 3 anyway because QB is too important
Great job on the mock, and I would love it if the Seahawks would do something like what you mocked but have little faith they will. Maybe with the new coaching staff and changes in philosophy it will be different but GM John Schneider believes "guards are over drafted and over paid" and has backed that philosophy up by never drafting an interior offensive lineman in the first round in his career to my knowledge. He drafted James Carpenter out of Alabama in the first who played guard for them but he was drafted as a tackle and he couldn't keep his weight down so they moved him inside. Anyway, I and I think most of the Seahawk fan base hope he will consider altering his approach. It would be great to have something other than a bottom third of the league running game and a QB that has a chance to get to his second read before he gets flushed or crushed.
