With McDonalds prices now you can make a meal for a family for the same price if you arent picky. Around 12 dollars for a Big Mac meal or two regular cheeseburger meal for $9 + tax is wild compared to how it used to be the go to if you didnt have alot of cash to spend

I remember when I was stocking the shelves at 24 years old my shift had just started and this angry customer approaches me with the sale sign, saying to me that the sale on ice mountain 24 pack of water is wrong and that it’s been wrong the past Five times she’s been there and that our sale signs are fraud and a rip off and says that she will never shop here again while throwing the sign at me like a frisbee hitting my leg and I smile and wave and say “OK see you next week”

@@nick2316 as long as when your making contact, you're not plowing into the other car and gently connecting there won't be any damage at all, at worse maybe a few small scratches. If the first car were to slam on the brakes with say a foot between them then yes it would be bad, but gently connecting and maintaining the connection usually won't make any Mark's. Its alot like drafting in racing where they do it for wind preferences or to save fuel

Just take her stupid sandwiches back, make them without the dang ketchup and pickles, and hope you never see her again. I worked in food service. De-escalation might not be what the customer deserves, but it makes life a lot easier in the end.

I live in London, and have done what she did (crossing when traffic is at a standstill, from behind a bus), but as cyclists commonly filter through stationary vehicles, that's the main thing I look out for before crossing.

The last one REALLY got under my skin. I work in retail and recently, one of my coworkers had to deal with a Karen who kept adding coupons to her purchase. She would do this AFTER my coworker had already clicked "payment," meaning she would have to VOID the whole transaction and scan everything ALL OVER AGAIN. My coworker did this literally THREE times, having to start everything over as the result of the Karen pulling out new coupons. Then, as soon as she FINALLY finished the transaction and bagged everything, what did this Karen do? ... Right there in line, she told my coworker that she wanted to return ALL of it and get her money back. I FIRMLY believe she did it just to be problematic. I had been on break during that time; but if I HADN'T? I would've more than likely refused to accept the return.

In this case, it's the managers fault but I definitely am glad to see someone actually say that. I'm not a manager, but I work at a McDonalds in different positions and customers definitely try to take advantage of the system. I can't tell you how many times I've been insulted based on my ethnicity and all I could do was stand there and say "Thank you, have a nice day!" If I'm cycling in busy traffic like that, I always make sure I have enough time to react to anything appearing from behind vehicles or other things obstructing my field of view. But the bigger takeaway should be that they need proper bike lanes (and maybe more crossings) in that area.
