Here’s the story behind the thumbnail if anyone was wondering: The person in the photo was babysitting a young boy (I think he was around 8 but take that with a grain of salt). The person in the photo molested that young boy and that boys father came home and caught him. The mugshot you see is the aftermath of that father beating him to a pulp

Similar bullying story with my kid. For whatever reason, I was always bullied growing up and I've always been non-confrontational, so the "walk away" method surprisingly works well. However, there were a few times walking away didn't work, so over the course of my childhood, I convinced my parents to enroll me in martial arts and it kinda became a hobby for me that continued into adulthood to the point that I made sure I got my unarmed combative training during my army days. (This is important later. Now my wife is Asian, so my son has always been a little smaller than most of his classmates, but he's super charismatic and easily befriends pretty much anyone. Both adults and other kids, and he's the caring type, always sharing and consoling other kids if they were crying. He got his first bully in Pre-K, but I taught him it is always better to walk away. He is well beyond mature for his age, so his compassion kicked in before the "walk out" method and he asked his bully why he was always so angry and mean, and asked if he could help him with whatever is bothering him... They are now best friends! Kid is going places lol. Now my little guy is still the stereotypical boy at heart and loves action, explosions, car chases, good guys fighting bad guys etc. I try to be proactive and want my son to be able to defend himself. Maybe not specifically from a bully, but any situation that may arise in his adult life as well, and it's always good to be active/play a sport. He agreed he wants to do martial arts, I enroll him in generic karate, and I teach him privately myself. Here is where my experience comes into play. I started off learning Tae Kwon Do (pretty much your basic punches, kicks, and blocking), but I never really used it, as I really didn't want to hurt anyone, just defend, diffuse, and disarm. So I got into Aikido, which is designed for smaller people to defend against larger people using your foe's momentum against them; pretty much just grapples, pushes, pulls, and throws. Then I became certified in the army with their unarmed combative training which is essentially a specialized form of Brazilian Jiujitsu, specifically modeled after Gracie style Jiujitsu. This is your choke holds, grapples, joint manipulation, also designed as an effective defence regardless of opponent size. Want to know how effective this is? Watch UFC 1-10. When each competitor only knew one specific martial art (check out the sumo wrestler vs the kickboxer lol). Royce Gracie (Gracie style Jiujitsu) went absolutely undefeated all 10 tournaments. Anyway, let's just say my kid was taught well. Moving ahead to middle School, my kid got his second bully, but this kid was the type that wouldn't stop. Think Dudley Dursley from Harry Potter. Just always being nasty, laughing at his own insults, and was big boned. My son and this kid were around the same age, but this kid, we'll call Dudley, was big enough to be a decent linebacker on a middle school football team, and my kid is about a foot shorter and easily 80 pounds lighter. At school, the bullying never got beyond verbal, you know with all the cameras and all nowadays, and usually stuck to the hallways between classes. Now we happen to live in the same subdivision as Dudley, but thankfully on opposite sides. There is a nice public park right in the middle of the subdivision, and one particular weekend my son and friends were there when Dudley and his friends arrived to hang out. The following is from the point of view from my kid's friends as no adults were at the park: The usual insults started, but my kid ignored the onslaught and just moved to a different part of the playground whenever Dudley got close. My kid and his friends eventually just got annoyed to the point that they just started to leave to go to one of the other friend's house. This set something off in Dudley, and he apparently did NOT want to be ignored. There was a "Listen to me while I'm talking to you fucker" followed by my son being pretty much thrown into a picnic table and stunned long enough for Dudley to sit on him and start savagely beating my kid. Now for anyone that is familiar with Jiujitsu, the person who controlls their opponent's hips, controls the fight, even if you are the one on the ground on your back (think of a UFC fight where the guy on his back gets his legs wrapped around the other guys waist). My son later told me he was initially shocked and it took a minute to process what was happening because this is the first time he's ever been hit. But, once he got his bearings, he ended the beating quickly. Within minutes, my kid managed to use an arm bar and a hip thrust to break one of Dudley's arms, swung around and quickly choked him out so he'd quit violently flailing. Another adult apparently saw the fight from inside their house and called the cops, so the police were there before anyone could leave the park. Both Dudley's parents and myself were home at the time, so we were also all corralled at the park within minutes. When I got there, Dudley and his friends were loudly attesting that my son started the whole thing and attacked first. Given my son was savagely beaten in the face and chest, he was bleeding and bruised all over. Dudley had no visible marks whatsoever. With Dudley looking like twice my kids size, the cops were asking him, "So this kid, half your size... Jumped you, and broke your arm... Your dominant arm.... That you then use to defend yourself by punching this little kid... In the face.... With your broken arm...?" Apparently cops have dealt with this kid before and the parents have been warned about his behavior. But this was the first time Dudley had been bested so the cops were like, "You want us to believe this little kid injured you? Must've broken your arm falling down or something lol.". Not sure what Dudley's parents were cited for if anything, but we pressed charges against Dudley and sued for legal and medical fees. He didn't get juvie time, but anger management, public service, and some kind of curfew/house arrest that said he had to be in his house or with his parents at all times unless he is in school. My son felt bad as he is also really non-confrontational, so has tried to approach Dudley at school to apologise, but apparently Dudley avoids my kid at all cost now. As unfortunate as the events were though, I could not be more proud of my boy.

Anyone who is a bully deserves a taste of their own medicine.

The last story reminds me of a man who successfully defended himself from a parking violation because the mis-spelled sign read "No stoping". To "stope" is, apparently, to extract ore from underground, and he was able to prove that he had done no mining at the site. Edited for sentence balance.

From being bullied by an adult in Highschool who was my vice principal. My dad said behind his back. "If at any time someone think they have power over you by abuse. Give them the bird or let them know they don't. Or if he just does it as a sick thrill, try to resist beating his ass six feet under ground so he can meet John smith or the soldiers who shot at wounded knee." My dad was an active AIM member and never put up with morons like that. Especially ones that pick on little kids or the mentally disabled or feeble.

The last story reminds me of one from my childhood. The neighborhood bully decides to hit my sister. She tells me and (of course being the older sister) I told my Dad. Who stood immediately and walked to the bully’s house with both of us girls. My Dad told the bully’s dad, “Your kid hit my daughter, either you hit him or I’m hitting you.” That kid’s father understood and took care of it, right then. We never had another problem.

My guess: The uncle was probably involved with organized crime and made that very well known to the bully's father, and what exactly would happen if this didn't develop as he wanted.

I think the uncle said, "Now think about what I said." As for the dude who got his manager fired, I agree that he's a hero! I work for a grocery chain under the same owner as his, and there are some of us who want to get a couple people fired because they are just awful people who get away with harassment, bullying, and overall disrespect, we but don't have legal ways to do it like he did. I bow to this master.

the story with the uncle beating up the bully's father is quite literally the real life example of Cruel irony. The act of using somebody's words against them, usually when something to their great detriment is about to be inflicted upon them. Usually in the form of a gloating statement. Kuzko: "Okay, I admit it. Maybe I wasn't as nice as I should have been. But, Yzma, do you really want to kill me?" Yzma: "Just think of it as you're being let go...that your life's going in a different direction...that your body's part of a permanent outplacement."
