Working on the razor ruddock smash punch it’s advantages and disadvantages, it’s a very powerful shot , the former heavyweight champion has used it to ko a lot of his opponents
That's a gazelle hook. The smash punch was basically a modified shovel hook with the lead hand but instead of keeping the arm bent you extend it. It was so effective for Ruddock bc of his long arms and long legs. Its good bc the angle it comes from may make it difficult to see coming but its bad bc if you miss you're wide open.
Yeah, you can tell a clear difference between Ruddock’s and this guy’s. Ruddock’s is more like a mix of an upper and hook whilst this guy is petty much doing the hook at an awkward angle
doesent matter he dropped alot of guys with it regardless. Tyson and Lewish can just take punches. Just because certain fighters can take punches doesent mean its an ineffective punch....even tyson said himself that razor hits like a fucking mule
Dude, he did not drop Mike Tyson. What are you talking about. And this punch leaves you wide open for a devastating counter. Just like throwing a barreling uppercut from way back (Douglas v Holyfield for example) or throwing a jab and not moving your head (Tyson v Holmes). Bad idea. This punch may work if you have a significant reach advantage and speed advantage, but trying this against someone with fight IQ will probably end with you on your back, dizzy with a headache. Ruddock v Tyson 1 & 2 showcases how this punch was Ruddocks downfall.
