The Ramones didn't write it. It's a good cover of the classic Bobby Freeman song of 1958, which is absolutely peerless, one of the great songs of that decade. Freeman was just 17 when he wrote and recorded it. The Beach Boys, among many others, also covered it. Freeman passed away in 2017 at the age of 76.
Stop saying it’s underrated-you are insulting the version of the song-the ppl who always HAVE to post the “underrated comment” remark don’t seem to even understand the English they attempt to write.🙄
My FAVORITE scene in the entire movie, it's 2 minutes of sheer JOY. I love how at the end, the expression on Eaglebauer's face shows he's thinking, "Mission accomplished."
I don't always listen to PUNK music but when I do I prefer "The Ramones" their proof that PUNK does not have to be angry and self loathing, but can be happy and fun, stay sedated my friends.
I am sharing the Ramones music including this clip still in 2019 and I am 61 years of age. This music, just like the “End of the Century” album in 1980 is timeless classic and I post forever!
The original version of this song was written and recorded by Bobby Freeman in 1958. The Shadows covered it in 1962 and then the beach boys in 1965... each version is great.
this use to be one of my favorite films when I was maybe 12 years old,... *sigh* such good memories,... r.I.p tommy ramone xoxox I've actually been to joey ramone's grave,...
WHAT MADE THE RAMONES GREAT IS BECAUSE THEY STAYED ORIGINAL THERE WHOLE LIVES AS A BAND AND PEOPLE LOVED THEM FOR IT AND THERE STILL FAMOUS STILL TO THIS DAY!
I love the RAMONES with all my life, beyond their punk legacy. Dee-Dee looks happy and Johnny smiles at the end. Some mighty force decided to take the 4 of of them, away from this current shitty world.

@@Jsalcedo23 a lot of people did this Bobby Freeman song. You should watch the documentary The Wrecking Crew. I'm willing to bet you would no longer think the BBs are the best American band.
believe it or not, this film was going to be a celebration of disco. it was big at the time, but someone had the bright idea to pay homage to Rock & Roll instead. we say thank you to THAT person.
Wow! Awesome song! I watched these videos when I was a Junior Highschool student. From then I stopped watching them. Now I am watching them again.🎸😁☠️🤘🤟. The Ramones were super! I love them!😍🥰😍
Truly an amazing scene in a great movie. So much going on in a very confined space. They definitely understood the assignment. Plus, P.J. Soles - enough said!
The blonde guy dancing is NOT William Zabka from Karate Kid. He's Vince Van Patten, son of the late Dick Van Patten (Eight is Enough). Vince was also a professional tennis player, and now he's a commentator for the World Poker Tour. He was on the cover of Tiger Beat a lot back in the day.
I can't believe I was actually in this movie! They used a lot of us who went to Mira Costa High School. This was actually one of the funnest movies I was in. PS Damn I'm old!!!
PJ Soles always made her roles memorable. The mean girl in Carrie and the girl who got killed by Michael Myers in bed in Halloween 1. Military MP in Stripes.
Wow that's amazing ! I'm 31 i wish i could go back in time so i could see the Ramones play live. I listen to them every day and watch every video. They are amazing and live on forever 💕
Argentica se hizo Ramongera, gracias a los Attaque antes del Hacelo por mi, a los Ramona, no los conocia mucha gente....era mas para los que curtian, solo Punk Rock...
in 1980 i was living in Daytona Beach. one friday night i didn't feel like hitting the bars, so i walked over the Main Street bridge to a little theatre on Beach St. (though far from the beach). saw this gem of a movie at midnight i believe. this scene was at the climax of the movie, when the kids take over the school. and Johnny and his Mosrite are always great. i can't believe it's forty years.
I love dancing to this. The Ramones are truly amazing American punk rock band. They made it great and forever. They live on. Every time i listen to them and that's every day. Their music is raw true and amazing. Marky is awesome
