28:20 A quick note on Qrow & Clover's card game, fun to think about even if you guys are already further ahead in the series. On first watch you might presume that they are just playing to pass the time, that Qrow will lose and Clover will win and they are just letting the cards fall out of interest/boredom. But we're pretty sure that their semblances have an area of effect from previous examples, which likely overlap and cancel each other out from scenes shown in the dust mine. So the game is happening in a fair neutral space, which for both of them is a first in their lives experience! Living with luck semblances like theirs means you probably avoid games of chance in general, Qrow for obvious reasons but even Clover probably abstains - where's the fun in playing a game if you know you're going to win? It's likely why Qrow also likes playing video games with his nieces as skill is more of a factor than luck. So with all that context, it's so heart-warming that these two bros find some time to sit down and enjoy something that's been denied to them their whole lives, a fair game of chance. Their shipping name is called "Fair Game" based on this moment!

Jacques was able to shut down those locations because he owns them. They were all Schnee Dust Company owned properties. The only power he as right now is over his own company. That's why he's trying to get elected to the council.

I dont think they quite understood what Jauques did: he provides Mantle with all of it's dust. By closing all the shops he not only fired half the population, but also made it impossible to heat the heat the city (remember they live in a tundra).

Weiss, Yang, and Ruby's voice actress are/were Roosterteeth employees. Weiss' VA used to be the office secretary back when RT was still growing. Yang and Ruby's VA, are still employees. Blake was a friend(👀) of the creators, but I don't think she was employed short of being the VA for Blake.

I'm certain someone has said this before, but team FNKI are all inspired by internet memes! Flynt Coal is inspired by an inside joke of Achievement Hunter that originated in their minecraft series Neon Katt is inspired by Nyan Cat (the poptart cat with the rainbow) Kobalt and Ivori are inspired by the "black and blue, vs white and gold" dress

Not sure if this fact was totally clear to people, but Team FNKI (Neon Katt, Flynt Coal, etc.) were Atlas students so they live here and that's prolly why it was convenient for them to spar with Team JNPR. Damarin asked: "Did she always have a rainbow coming out of her?" Answer: Yes, Neon Katt left a rainbow trail when she skated. Suraj: "Does Team RWBy know what supplies are being run?" A: At the beginning of the supply run van scene Penny and Ruby were talking. Ruby asked why they couldn't just fly the supplies up to Amity. Penny replied that it would require too much dust and that they needed to save as much dust as they could. Rana: "How did Jacques close all the stuff?" A: It was easy to miss but if you look above the locked door the Mantle guy tried to open, it said 'Schnee Dust Company'. Not sure if that was a factory or store but it belongs to Jacques Schnee so he was able to close his own building. Suraj: "Is it who they see last or who they are thinking of? (Referring to maiden's power being passed.) A: The maiden's power gets past to the person(young woman) who the dying maiden is thinking of. It's not necessary for her to see that person.

All the voice actresses for team RWBY used to/still work for Rooster Teeth. Lindsay (Ruby) and Barbara (Yang) are still there but Kara (Weiss) and Aaryn (Blake) have moved on to other jobs. Voice actors for Jaune, Ren, Pyrrah, Ozpin, Professor Port, Professor Ooblek, Professor Goodwitch, Sun, Neptune, Scarlet, Torchwick, May Marigold, Taiyang, Velvet, Coco, Mercury, Cardin, Neon Katt, plus PLENTY more small/unnamed roles are all played by Rooster Teeth people (though some have left since), and a lot of other characters have been played by friends of Rooster Teeth - other gaming companies, peoples partners, etc. That's why in the earlier season it was so beloved by fans of Rooster Teeth - we got to see all our favourite cast members voice acting, AND why in earlier seasons the voice acting isn't quite as good - a lot of these actors had never voice acted before, and it took a bit for them to get better at it.

I think this is the worst I've ever seen their tendency to forget/miss super important details and make/cling to completely false assumptions based on things they 100% made up in their own heads, even when the show has practically slapped them in the face with what's ACTUALLY happening

I'll be honest, as much as I love RWBY, the video game (RWBY Grimm Eclipse) isn't very good. The graphics look they were made for the GameCube and the combat gets very repetitive very quickly. The game is something you can skip.

I'm not sure I agree with Marketa's assessment of military leadership not translating to good civilian leadership. Certainly we've seen some horrific examples that are in line with that... but we've seen some great examples to the contrary. George Washington, Dwight D Eisenhower, Fredrick the Great, Gustav III of Sweden were all excellent military leaders and governed their respective countries with a focus on expanding the power of the people.

I don't think they spell out what the election is about so I will (and correct me if wrong!). Ironwood is not losing his position on the council (and he has 2 as general and headmaster). There is a seat open on the council. While this is big for Ironwood because no one likes him right now, it isn't him getting kicked out or anything. It just means he will have even more opposition. I think the ONLY people running are Robyn and Jacque, so the choice is obvious.

Fun Facts Fact 1: Most of the names on the mission board are people that worked on RWBY. Fact 2: According to the Volume 7 Crew Commentary, the penguins seen in the Solitas tundra were possibly going to be a Grimm species. Fact 3: Originally, the scene featuring Weiss and Winter visiting Fria was going to be Winter getting an alert from Ironwood and having to leave, and Weiss following her suspiciously. However, it worked better as Winter revealing a secret while Weiss was still keeping one. Fact 4: After this episode came out and featured penguins, Miles explained that they wish to show more animals in RWBY, but did not have the budget and time to do so. Fact 5: The fight between Weiss and Winter with them both using their summons is a callback to them training together in Lessons Learned. Fact 6: The writers originally were not sure about having a montage in this episode. Originally, there was no montage in the episode with the team instead sitting around a table talking about what they did.

IIRC the Atlas government works like this at the Kingdom Level there is an Executive Council with a rotating Chairperson acting as the Executive Branch (Ironwood is the current Chair) the Kingdom has a Legislative Council/Parliament, this is the Legislative Branch they have an independent courts with appointed Judges then there are Regional Governments, the two largest are the City of Atlas and the City of Mantel, the outlining settlements band together to form largely ineffectual regions reliant on the central government. the title varies but they have a head of Government with a Cabinet acting as the regional executive branch they have a Legislative Council. some outlining regions the legislative council is so small that they form the entity of the Cabinet, some are so small that senior civil servants work in the cabinet because the legislature is too small to provide enough warm bodies. IIRC Robbin is/was until of late a member of the Mantel Regional Legislature, and is making a run at the big time skipping the Kingdom Legislature.

So you are aware, Atlas is run by a council of five. They are all elected, excepted for Ironwood. He actually holds two council seats, as the military General and the Academy Headmaster. So he can push a lot of plans through and the council tends to follow his lead. That's what is pissing off Jacque, so he is running for a council seat and Robyn Hill is running against him. Robyn wants to help Mantle get better resources, while Jacque just wants to be able to export his his dust to make more money. And Jacque can shutdown the SDC because it's his company. He's CEO. So blaming Ironwood's embargo is forcing him to shutdown all operations is causing a riot cause he employed the most people with his company in Atlas.
