My power windows was working so very slow, and the drivers door glass was ratteling when I close the door.
So this is what I did, and it runs very smooth afterwards.

this was really helpful, i just bought a project 1993 saab 900 s, pretty much all the parts on the door other than the wiring was stripped, didn’t even know where to begin

Hij, This has given me confidence to tackle mine (1990 C900 S). The driver side has displayed 'awkward/uneven' movement but not slower than normal, symptomatic of mechanical resistance. At one point three weeks ago I could hear the regulator motor clicking and disengaging without input, like a relay would click but with additional faint motor noises. I did a basic clean around the window seal and it worked just the same. Today no activity whatsoever from the mechanism. Window is fortunatly* in the closed position (*despite the 40c heat here for the first time). The mechanism obviously needs attention and will get it. Does the sudden transformation from 'working OK but a bit lumpy' to 'no sign of life' mean that I should pre-check the switch and electrical connections first? This spec is new to me having a history of 99s.

Terje, you can grease the gearbox without removing it from the door, get one of the retaining screws, drill an axial hole in it and tap the head to take a grease nipple. Then pump grease directly into it. Here's what I did www.uksaabs.co.uk/UKS/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=194004

I also have heard about the nipple idea, but as I did not have any of them or a grease pump in hand. So this become the solution by now. It does also not take that much longer time this way, and I think it is good for the elevating system to get out for a real cleaning and lubrication as well...

Useful tips from this video. Great work @@TerjeNormann :) I just did this operation to my power windows and took a little bit of both of yours and Trollboosters advices. Greased up the motor still mounted in the door from the screw hooles using a large syringe filled with lithium grease. Then lubricated all other moving parts in the mechanism. Now the windows is moving a loot smoother :)

Iif only replace the motor, you need to unscrew the two screws that hold the mootor to the gear. I'm not sure if you are able to get into the screws without to disassembly the mecanism. It is so tight in there. But even if your motor is dead, I should do this entire job to make sure your system is not so slow that it is the main reason why your motor is broken.

Oh boy, another great video. i have to change my speedometer cable. oh and your advice with the pressure accumulator was pretty helpfull. but just asking, what would happen with the brake system if there is too much fluid in the brake fluid tank? also where can i find a fitting replacement for my defect brake pressure accumulator (ABS System). the only one that i found cost around 500-600€ Also you are lucky for having a garage. Down here in Germany its sometimes like a lottery. maybe i got something here so i can start working on my 900. i am gonna install a Trionic 5.5 and refresh the Turbo and the Gearbox

The only thing that should happen if too much brake fluid is...as I understand posibilities to over flow...only. I do not know any other problems about to over fill.. I also have to change my speedo cabel, and I have one spare from my parts car. The plastic connector for the speedo cluster is broken on the old one. Off topic -- Sons "friend" broke the casting on my 92 900 T for the drivers side manual release and I have no idea how to go about it. any help or suggestions appreciated

You mean how to remove it from the door? If I do not remember wrong, the front surface is a cap that you have to flip off with a tiny screw driver and there is a screw behind it. If you need a replacement, I maybe have for you.

Window stuck in open position, how do I get at screws on glass carrier?

Unscrew the lifter mecanism from the door and lift the window with the lifter until you can you access the screws.

@@billden4901 Open the door, take out the system and test run the motor without the winding mecanism. If the motor still run, it must be the window glass stuck in the rails, or the winding mecanism that need refurbishment.

@@stephenmorrissey1254 Yes. Mine works good now but have to do some hight stop adjustment on drivers side soon. Maybe I then take it all out for some maintenance.
