Salvage yard C63 AMG X5 Focus RS walk around 

For someone who has difficulty blowing my tyres up, I just love watching you transform these cars. Magic. I'm 90yrs old and so many cars, going back my 1st MGTC 1948.. love your show.

Just a thought. One of the reasons I like your channel is that you come across as completely genuine and the fact that you are running a legit business and documenting that for everyone actually makes the content more meaningful and refreshing compared to the other 'content-driven' channels in the same space who are always contriving some new 'whacky' thing to broadcast next. In short, keep up the good work mate. 👍

Anyone else stunned that X5 M sport has had such heavy front end hit and no air bags deployed !!

Awesome video Rob, its really a good insight of how you choose cars by seeing you walking round, looking at cars, saying what they'll need and seeing how you decide whats worth taking on.

You just reffered to a Jetta and Arteon as a Passat and my heart literally crumbled. But great video eitherway. Jetta, Arteon, and Passat are three different cars.

Lovely video, That Volkswagen Arteon is a separate model from the Passat, designed to replace the Passat CC. It is supposed to rival the Audi a7 👍

Some bitter people about ,if you don't like it dont watch it, Im not really into range rovers but your series of videos I watched them all. Who cares when you worked or not just keep them coming AMG 63 you said it all fantastic.

Never ceases to amaze me what gets written off. Repair shops must be charging insurance companies a fortune, so many of those look to be fairly easy with a bit of skill.

Yeah I think the VW Arteon is basically the new Passat CC and abit more luxurious,yeah who ever gets that C63s is gonna be one happy boy ,strange that X5 didn’t deploy any airbags with that front end damage ,maybe already been replaced maybe parked at the time who knows ,good walk around Rob😊👍

Rob, enjoyed the interesting walk around, don't often get to walk around these yards but noted quite a lot of late stock. I know it looked nice but £75K for a damaged vehicle made my eyes water..lol That RS Focus eh, they were just lovely motors.!! Like that you mix this video in among your others, said it before, just keep on doing it all as you are wind noise. .no wind noise it's authentic straight up content I and am sure others enjoy mate. Really interesting walk around. I stuffed my Scooby a year ago and it would have been repairable. I considered paying the insurers for salvage, but I have no facilities to store or repair it and no repair skills. 🙁 Good to see lots of these cars are brought back to life.

I'd love to see you do a series where you start with e.g. £1000, and from that you buy a salvage car from auction and any parts and/or work that needs doing, sell it, then use the proceeds from the sale to buy your next car, so you gradually trade up over time until you've built up the funds (hopefully!) to pick up something like that C63s, an Aston Martin, etc. The 'rules' would be something along the following lines: 1) Each car must be bought from a salvage auction - no part-exchanges, trade prices, favours from mates in the business, etc. 2) All parts must be sourced from third-parties or priced accordingly (so if you bought a Fiesta and used a load of spare parts you've already got, you can't consider them 'free'). Again, market prices - no 'mates rates' 😉 3) You can only work on one car in this challenge at a time (so you can't buy a fleet of Cat N Fiat 500s to make easy money towards a BMW M5, for example) 4) All repairs must be done to your usual high standards - no cutting corners to save a few quid (your professionalism and personal pride make this rule entirely unnecessary, but it's there for the benefit of new subscribers who haven't yet binge-watched your videos 😁) 5) You're free to work on as many other vehicles as you want in parallel (a man's gotta eat!), but money you make from them cannot be added to the pot for this challenge What do you think - fancy doing this as an excuse to own a Lambo to park next to your Ferrari? 😁

i bought a low milage RX8 PZ edition acouple of years ago from copart. It has been written off due to a dent on the drivers wing. I see cars driving around with way more damage every day. cost me £80 to repair and it was done. I know RX8s are dirt cheap now but i dont understand why it was written off. the owers exess on their insurance would have cost them more than it would have been for them to get it repaired themselves! Still enjoying the car now which is the best condition RX8 i have seen in person. no rust even underneath! and engine perfect

Great video as always. Maybe get yourself a couple of gopros off ebay with the dead cat wind mufflers, then you can keep your phone a a phone. There's loads of editing software out there. For a few ideas on filming etc have a look at GOONZQUAD channel. I know its american but look at where they've come in 2 years. Started with a tent in their garden 2 years ago and now they are building their 2nd shop on land they have just bought. They're 2 young American kids so the language will wind you up but to follow and see them grow like yourself is great. Plus the bigger the channel grows the more free stuff you get! The gear they get sent just so they get mentioned on the channel is amazing!! Keep doing it Rob!!

There's a guy called Randy on YT over in America called Auto Auction Rebuilds who does similar to you and does regularly Copart walla round and gets lots of views from it, your in the perfect position to be the UK version of him. He makes big money from revenue doing it too!

Back in the day, a visit to your local Scrappie was a proper morning/day out. As long as you kept your eyes open for the Scrap-Yard-Dogs it was fine :-) These days, they're mostly all regulated by the Health & Safety Gestapo and a little man in the office that tells you what you CAN and CANNOT do .... PLUS! it's hard-hats, Hi-Viz, ID etc .... What a BIND?? ...... (Those were the days :-)

The standard Mercedes AMG C63 saloon gets a 476hp version of Mercedes' 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine while going for the more powerful C63 S version gets 510hp.

Just had a look at Salvage Market. Some bargains there - light damage& easy repair cars going v cheap. Great recommendation 👍

That BMW was smashed a lot harder than he says that had inner wing damage done loads of salvage in the 90s jig work still doing it now check co part out best buys there you book a slot were you get 20 mins to look at car then on Tuesdays it's online auction I would decide what you are willing to pay because the online bidding is fast so be on the ball all the heavy damage motor end up in Poland places like that were there are no restrictions only cat C,D now in UK.good look happy bidding hope you find a gem there are lots there so don't jump in take your time and you will find what you want.good video to this guy he no's his stuff..👍🏻🇬🇧

just a few mild points as a new subscriber flicking through the back catalogue... (friendly constructive....defo not in camp saul ...lol) keep up the good work, very entertaining and informative 1)the 19 plate AMG C63s is a 4.0 twin turbo V8 at that age, they did away with the 6.2 a while back on these. also no passenger otherwise those airbags would have deployed too. the fancy speakers on door are a very expensive 'burmester sound system' upgrade 2)the white SEAT Leon could be anything from as far back as 2013 on that shape 3)the Arteon (not areton) isnt a passat, its a bigger stand alone model. 4)the BMW X5 without airbag damage suggests to me that it was hit by something and not crashed as the airbags only deploy at 19+ mph so this was likely going slower or stationary when something else hit it, either that or BMW need to ask questions about why they didn't deploy

In the Kent yard, I saw a plate laying on the ground. Can those be sold to the public as a novelty (not to be used on a car, I'm in the US). What kind of price would it be?

I would love to have heard your opinion on a US car I saw recently if you'd had the chance to see it. Was walking down Penn. Ave in Capitol Hill D.C. in the States. A VW Atlas was about to go on a wrecker with all of the airbags blown. Every single one. Without a single scratch on the vehicle. Somebody rear-ended the tow hitch writing off their car. The wrecker driver was convinced it would get totaled due to 'frame' damage but what could he know? Totaled means a salvage title in the U.S. and a pain in the neck to re-register. The most amazing thing I've ever seen. Not a mark and every airbag blown. Wow.
