SBC Update: Social Justice, Abuse Allegations, & the Law Amendment 

Ok, one retraction. I apparently talked about the TBMB’s hiring practices being diversity driven, but it’s their trustee appointments. Idk about their hiring practices, though if you search diversity on their socials they’re all about it!

Thank you for this valuable information on what is happening in the SBC. My family had already made the decision to leave the large church we had attended for 10+ years because of the direction it was taking, but we had no idea about what was going on behind the scenes at the SBC. It makes sense now.

Ah, the inclusivity circle. 1. Why should we enforce this? They should be part of our group. 2. Why are you opposing this since so many of in the group already do this? Why can't you simply accept them. 3. Why is your specific church/club/chapter not allowing what everyone else is doing? 4. If you don't like it, leave. 5. Form new group GOTO 1 and repeat.

*sighs, pinches brow* As an actual woman... Some of us women want to obey what the Bible says about church leadership. And though this reason for obeying is way down on the list, it does turn out that pushing women into positions we are not designed for *harms us.* Have we learned nothing from the "having it all" movement of the 1970s?

Every company that has shareholders has the concept of proxies. Are small Baptist churches just not considered shareholders if they don't pay to send someone? This would grant one agent the vote of dozens of small churches. "Rather than physically attending the shareholder meeting, investors may elect someone else, such as a member of the company's management team, to vote in their place. This person is designated as a proxy and will cast a proxy vote in line with the shareholder's directions"

Don't get it twisted, while the BFM says "The church should not resort to the civil power to carry on its work," the ERLC fully believes that does not apply to their political activism. When states pass laws to protect life, ERLC is lightning quick to oppose such laws. They want us to be open-minded with liberals and be accepting, but are quick to say conservatives can't exercise their beliefs in the political arena. Wolves in sheep's clothing.

Can Dwight McKissic see that he is making this about what people want and not what God mandates in the Bible? If he is going to go against what the Bible says IN CONTEXT, plain and clear, it is he who is in trouble because he is misleading people behind the pulpit and people who do need The Gospel. I will be praying for him because this is serious.

This objection (around 26:40) to the women-as-pastors thing seems to me like a solution looking for a problem. Almost everyone agrees that a "women's pastor" or a "children's pastor" is not equivalent to "pastor." I don't know of anyone trying to disfellowship churches over how they name *extra-biblical* positions. And did he then say that it's a PROBLEM that churches whose pastors are biblically unqualified would be encouraged to address that?

The church is the bpdy of Christ, not a building. Christ is our High priest, mediator and King. Call no man teacher , father, rabbi, pastor
