Great review of a great watch I’ve been wearing every day for months and absolutely LOVE it. Looks awesome, keeps excellent time and is extremely comfortable on my 7.25” wrist. I appreciate the comparisons made in this vid as well. Good job! Thank you
Very nice, has a Rolex Submariner vibe on the bracelet without being another copy. Vintage looking and will age well. In 10 years this will be a sought after classic.
Thanks for another great video! I own this model and I really enjoy it. Movement runs very accurate, allignment on chapter ring spot on. The big arrow hand was a good choice. Very easy to read and may give a nod to an Omega 300 co-axial, a much more retro oriented design (and 5 times the price). This watch feels contemporary and wears very well. A future classic, I think. Cheers.
I love my 061! For sure, the bracelet is chunky, but it makes the watch feel bulletproof. I also put on a MM300's adjustable clasp. Now, review the SLA025 and 033!
I greatly enjoyed the sbdc063, the black dial blue bezel version, when i owned it. The only mod i did was swap put the handset for mm300 style and it was all good after that. The case is a great modern interpretation of the classic. Just a bit slimmer and plenty good for unde $1k. Agree, the lume would have been better if it wasn't so green tinted and more neutral.
It doesn't replace the MM300 for me (nor does it seem to be aimed to). Cool watch though. When Seiko draws inspiration from its back catalogue it's never a bad thing.
I REALLY wish I hadn't seen the original because I dislike the handset on the 061 even more than I had originally. I wonder if there are any comparable hands to the original even the MM that would work on the 061 ? Love your videos btw !!
Spencer does the SBDC061 have a milled clasp, and, does the bracelet use pins and collars? I have ruined two pin and collar bracelets. Could you do a video where you show how to size a pin and collar bracelet? Could you show where the collar sits inside the bracelet? Thanks!
The clasp is milled. The pin and collar can be a pain, but not in this watch. If I remember correctly the collar sits in a slot in the middle column of the bracelet. That really makes things a lot easier compared to i.e. a monster. I use a 0.3 mm pencil (like a pentel 120 or similar) to push out the pin. You push out the pin according to the indicator arrow, and thereby not lose the collar. Do it over a tray if it is the first time.
Very late to the party here, but I'm wondering what you think of the 065 'great blue hole' version. BTW you are the first watch channel I ever watched and subscribed to.
Don't get why seiko does the minute hand lume on the counter balance side. I see on the original it's on the chapter ring side. My mini turtle is the same way. If I were to mod my turtle I would change this.
I have an 063 and I love, love, love it. But the most shocking thing of this video? Seeing this next to a Marine Master. I have a very small wrist, and I can wear the 063 just fine. But next to a Marine Master, it looks very similar. So does that mean I can wear a Marine Master too?! I always assumed they played large.
I'm still rather torn apart as to what watch to order and the video isn't helping that much ^^ Cleaning up my watch drawer from a lot of the accumulated watches and still in consideration between the SBDC051 061 or the SBBN031.
My list from most to least wanted would be: SBBN033/31...SBDC051................x.....x....x....x....x....x....x....x....x....x........................................SBDC061. x == other watches.
Ok love the look of seiko just wish they made watches for big guys with big wrist...I have a 8 1/2 wrist size And I’m a big man I just wish I could pull it off what do you think @spencer Klein
Whomever designed the big fat arrowhead hour hand needs to be let go. It is ruining many good watches. Drop a set of SBDX001 H/M with a nos 6105 sweep and you may have something really sweet.
