This 45 minute yoga nidra for sensing opposites is for connecting to manomayakosha and creating resilience in the mental body, emotional body, feeling body through systematic desensitization, reciprocal inhibition or constructive interference. Yoga nidra can be supportive to psychology in this way along with developing awareness of the self. This meditation also included an irest guided relaxation & visualization of guided imagery to connect to and develop your inner resource through somatic experiencing. This yoga nidra is lead by ally boothroyd of sarovara yoga.
This manomaya kosha Yoga Nidra for sensing opposites will take you down into your physical body into a state of deep regenerative relaxation through rotation of consciousness. This guided meditation is voice only for ease of hearing and to take you to a place of total peace, presence and regeneration. This yogic sleep practice creates emotional stability and resiliency over time and repetition. Lead my myself (Ally Boothroyd) this meditation is designed to untangle and reduce stress and anxiety and calm the nerves over time.
This 45 minute yoga nidra meditation with no music is perfect for stress reduction and sensing the physical body. If you’re looking for a 45-minute nidra with a body scan, voice only guided with a female voice then this nidra meditation is for you. This 45 minute relaxation has an integrative restoration or irest style of inner resource visualization and somatic experience (as created by Richard Miller). It’s a sleep based meditation that is a great meditation for inducing states of relaxation that are scientifically proven to reduce stress. My four year old came in mid way through, and then my partner to remove him, and he scampered to hide and I burst out laughing. It reminded me of the newscaster during COVID when the baby bumbled in in the walker, and then the mum skidded in to remove him! And of the surrender meditation with the outtake of Audrey coming in to complain about the dead iPad. Thank you for making me so relaxed I can laugh when relaxation is broken! 😂

First time doing a sensing polar opposites with feelings and I was genuinely so surprised at how the feeling of irritation affected me somatically. I had this overwhelming urge to "get out", but using the opposite sensation plus going to my inner refuge was huge! I really hope I can start using this in my waking life for when my unhelpful "friend" frustation visits. Thanks for another healing practice Ally

An afternoon yoga Nidra today. Was able to deeply relax but stay aware until the end when I was almost too “awake” and pulled out by discomfort in the body and unexpected noises. Enjoying feeling the opposites and tuning into the inner resource

Very powerful! Sensing into the opposites had a calming effect on my nervous system and mind.Bringing in the inner resource at the end of the practice first with imagery and then letting go of the images and staying with the feeling was amazing. I felt I could stay with the felt sense of calm and safety for some time. I went very deep into this experience. One of my favorites!

29/10/22 6.40 am .Revisiting this Yoga Nidra practice this morning after waking very early, into the darkness of this autumnal morning. I love sensing the opposites, especially the feeling of heaviness and lightness, which seemed fitting for my mood today. I find these sensations easy to access and to hold simultaneously ..it felt profound and curiously comforting. I found myself drifting off when it came to sensing irritation and acceptance....🤔. Namaste! And thank you xo I have been feeling a little apprehensive about the practice of diving deep into Manomaya Kosha. I practiced this nidra last night and did fall asleep. My dreams were intenseand my sleep was disrupted a lot. This morning I practiced again and the nidra felt a lot more gentle like something had been already released and softened. I feel even more open to this experience and practice now.

Namaste from Amanda Allison at 920a. No awareness of time passing on this practice. Definitely didn't feel like I was lying here for almost 50 minutes. The welcoming of opposites was strange and yet facile. I could feel the tension in my body from cold/irritation and the openness with warmth/acceptance. My body dividing in right/left hemispheres for welcoming the two together. And on the light/heavy it divided below waist (heavy) and above. It was pretty cool that my body could do that without a lot of input from my thinking mind. Thanks Ally!

I experienced time in a really strange way during this practice. Short pauses in your guidance felt like hours and like I’d fallen asleep but it had only been seconds. I also experienced a sort of jolting in my body. Finishing the practice shortly after 2pm today and feeling energized for the rest of the afternoon. Thank you 🙏🏼

Sounds like your body definitely went to sleep on that one! Often times people can experience themselves snoring with those little jolts, and losing that linear time that we're used to experiencing.

7.59am I found this deep and powerful, Ally. Gradually letting go of having to do “it all” myself and awakening to the effortlessness of YN. I loved the sensation of opposites and even though my mind was butting in, it was so lovely to experience the wisdom and language of the body. The irritation/acceptance opposites felt similar to the sensations felt during Your Equanimity Meditation. Thank you so much for your exquisite guidance 💕🙏🏻🙏🏻

Namaste! I started practicing at 11:45 P.M. on November 3, 2023. This was such an interesting practice. Recreation of polar opposite sensations and holding them both in awareness is not something I typically do in the same session. Typically, for the latter, I note which areas of the body are warmest or coldest and alternate awareness between and feel them both together at once. Including the visualizations and aspects of imagination simultaneously was a bit jarring as I was visualizing a hot noon sun somewhere in the mountains or next to an industrial fan. It was uncomfortable as the cold was extreme while I could relax while sweating, but I relaxed as much as I could. The version with heaviness and lightness was easier as the front of my body floated while the back of my body sank into the bed, or they would alternate with the rhythms of inhalation and exhalation. Irritation and acceptance were something else. They both were currents of energy in my body from my pelvis to navel to chest and throat. Irritation was a warm, tingling sensation of a ferocious roar or blood-curdling scream that was bubbling from my blood and tissues to the surface of my awareness as I wanted to shout obscenities. Acceptance was cool softening and ease of that region that felt expansive and pleasant. Simultaneously, they seemed to be cancelling each other out. Again, a very interesting practice. I used an inner refuge I had encountered earlier during the practice teach and at the suggestion of inviting a loved one to feel a sense of connection, I decided that it was more than fine to invite the version of them that is always kind and loving and encouraging and safe. The version that is always with me when I think of them. It was nice. An interesting experience overall.

Namaste Ally! I appreciated the challenges of Manomaya Kosha, having entered this session with unresolved layers of feelings and the challenges of welcoming opposite feelings when the mind is attached to one polarity only. It was challenging but I must say healing by the end of the session. Thank you!

7:48 am, September 12, deeply relaxed during this practice. Loved visiting inner refuge and then dissolving to the vastness inside. Felt buzzing and aliveness throughout the body yet completely relaxed. Thank you, Ally.
