Does anyone find it ironic that Shane is always talking about his body issues but takes jabs at non-thin women any chance he gets? You would think that someone with a young audience wouldn't be drilling the message of "no one likes fat people" into literally all of their videos. He's instilling his own insecurities into the heads of thousands of young people.

Omg yes! I have a medical disorder that causes me to gain wait and hold on to it for no reason. For example I went on vacation in Europe and walked over 10 miles a day for weeks and gained five pounds (I didn’t eat more than normal for my height and age at the time.) I used to watch his videos and loved them. Being young and at the time not knowing I had a medical issues I hated my body and myself. I developed an e**ing disorder. His videos were not at complete fault but did not help a 7th grader that didn’t love herself! He has such double standards and harmed so many people.

@@brennasinclair I'm so sorry you experienced that! That sounds awful. I grew up with extremely athletic parents who convinced me that being overweight is essentially worse than murder. It's such a toxic mindset. Hearing constant jokes bashing fat people from people like Shane only furthered this idea that I would be worthless if I went over a certain number on the scale.

Yeah, the majority of his filmography is him psychologically projecting his issues on to his audience. An audience he knew was very young and impressionable. And when he got too much negative attention for that, he switched to the mask of a simpering weakling so his audience would feel obligated to manage his ego and feelings.

@@cloudshad0ws he’ll write men that are awful but they’re often misogynistic creeps and it’s clear from the writing that he thinks their awful behaviours aren’t so bad or sometimes aren’t even awful. Sometimes men are jerks in the videos, but the videos are far worse toward women and mock them for liking the “jerks” instead of the “nice guy”. Except the “nice guy” is just another misogynistic creep who sees them as objects. Idk. He represents men horribly, but it’s almost like it’s more because he has horrible ideals of “who” men should be and horrible ideas of “what” women are. Maybe I’m just thinking of specific examples, idk

I’ve always felt terrible for Shane in terms of how often he gets body-shamed, but wow. Seeing him try to repeatedly fat-shame a young woman with a completely average/healthy body in this disaster of a short film has really helped me get over that.

as someone who has bulimia and was in a ed treatment center for 9 months it is not some little thing to add in ur dumb movie. The main issue I have with Shane in terms of his more harmful content is that he seems to think the fact that he experienced harm growing up gives him a free pass to say and do awful shit. Like he says he was bullied, had/has eating disorders, the weight thing, etc and that means he can't be called out and held responsible for doing that to other people. It reminds me of abusers who experienced abuse. You can be the victim, but also victimize others, and that makes you a predator too. You can't cause harm to others because you were harmed. It's a really demented way of thinking. Plus, nothing about his presentation has any comedic or artistic merit, making it all just offensive.

@@slightlyoffensivedadjokes That's exactly what it is. Like pedophiles who say they were sexually abused as kids. That's heartbreaking. It shouldn't happen to any child. But most kids who experience SA grow up to want to protect kids, they don't continue the cycle, because they know it's wrong. I know far too many people, even family members, who were abused when they were kids (obviously before I was born in their families of origin, nothing like that happened within my immediate family thank god). So saying you were abused doesn't get you leniency for your own actions. A pedophile is a danger to the community, no matter what their history says, and they deserve mental health support. While they're in prison. It's all the same perpetuation of vicious cycles. And Shane made a career out of it. He just happens to be a racist, a child predator, a dangerous sexual deviant who sexualized kids AND animals, and a greedy, self-centered cunt, all at the same time. I don't know what's worse, the racism and sexualizing kids and animals, the fact that he made millions off it, that it took over a decade for him to see any repercussions, or that he warped so many young minds.

I unfortunately use to watch him as a child, then I developed an Ed at 14. And I didn’t realise until now how triggering and problematic this film is. Shane had an eating disorder but gives him no right to make a tasteless joke about it. I hope that you’re okay and that you’re not alone ❤️❤️

He got away with it because back when it was released, social media wasn't as big and we were young with most of us not knowing any better. Our parents also probably didn't pay too close attention to what we were watching. Social media helps to keep the fire going when calling out things like this. When this movie was released, Twitter was still just for businesses to interact with each other.

Something that really makes this channel stand out from every other low budget movie commentary channel is Nick gives us literally everything: the media expertise, the experience, the laughs, the behind the scenes. When I was around 13, I love this movie so much. I couldn't understand most of the jokes but I laughed anyway because weird sexual inuendos are funny for my child brain. I completely forgot about this garbage until now and I am horrified I watched this man as a kid.

As someone who is interested in writing screenplays and being involved in film, nothing frustrates me more than someone given the opportunity and budget to make their creation come to life and then giving minimal effort. I'm not saying every second of a film needs to be full of meaning, substance, and soul, but a tiny hint of it would be nice.

But I dunno, he hasn’t done this style of humor in a really long time so if he did make another movie, I doubt it would be done in the same style. I always got the gist he treated his RU-vid shorts like experimental, super low-budget stuff he didn’t care too much about, he’s done some decent stuff. All creators need to make a bunch of terrible cringey stuff so they can learn from their mistakes and made good stuff - only in his case, he’s just unlucky that everything is online for everyone to see. If he still wants to make a horror movie, let him. If it sucks it sucks, If not, well, that would be cool too.

Yup, they’d have to get through 3 layers of muscles on the back, somehow get through the spinal column, then through lung or heart tissue, and a final impediment called the sternum, which is a solid plate of bone. It would take a crazy amount of force to get through at all...but to get an entire 8-9 inch blade to pass through in its entirety from 8-9 feet away is inconceivable IMO.

A good use for the coffee table would have been as they run away from the killer, one trips and falls onto the table. She cuts or hurts her leg and can't get up so she starts throwing the bottles and crystal bowl at the killer to try and defend herself before the killer takes a broken bottle and slices up the victim. Anything but what they actually did would have been better.

I remember watching this as a 13 y/o and if I’m not mistaken at the time it came out, it was kind of made as a “choose your own adventure” movie for RU-vid (I think because the time limit for vids was still 10 or 15 mins) and so you could choose which characters death scene you wanted to see after each scene was over. It was a cool idea at the time but it’s a shame it was wasted on such garbage lol
