I was under the impression that drill mixing grout, especially at high speeds can affect the color…great looking job none the less, I like the attention to detail in getting all the grout out of the corners of the box….I was told many years ago, “a bad grout job can ruin a good tile job and a good grout job can make a bad tile job look better”…words to live by, lol

I think the newer generations, which I'm not, have so much more information to do it right with prep, waterproof and tile installation This is good for the tile business and the customer, how can that be going down hill?

@@LandbergTileTV it is definitely good for the tile trade I myself have seen people who simply can't do it without these i have also worked for a company who had good setters but around 3 years ago when they first used them they decided that everything should be installed with the clips and i completely disagree

@@mikem6883 i understand your point man. I can install perfect floors and walls with no lippage without using leveling clips but the clips do make things faster and time is money! I think the tile industry is creating products that are DIY friendly since thats become the trend from all the tv shows etc.

@@amattson6578 disagree in some aspects of they are faster Its not faster for me to have to take time to set them in place when that was not a needed step before Also depending on the clips sometimes they don't break off correctly in the floor Now i have to take time to cut this thing out depending on how many broke incorrectly this is a big pain I will add the better clips you get the less of an issue that is all together I have seen them to Amazing things tho

@@mikem6883 i get it. Only time i use clips is with wood plank tile thats bowed. The clips straighten the bow out and reduce lippage. Other than that theyre kind of annoying for me. But some people love them. Whatever works

Would you use this levelling system for real marble Cararra 6"x18" tiles (seem very flat), set at half offset? If so, would one at every joint intersection be sufficient ?

Question if all surfaces are waterproof why can’t the shower pan liner be trimmed to top edge of mortar bed what say you? no liner is used with foam shower pans

Question, what blade did you use on the IQ 7 inch saw for the deco? I have a 7 inch IQ saw and love it, but only have the blade that came with it. I am planning to order the other blade they have for porcelain tile.

When you were talking about 33% offset was that for the floors only? Does the shower also have an offset? If so when would you use 33% vs 50%? I'm getting ready for a bathroom remodel, trying to learn as much as I can to ensure I get a good job with contractor unfortunately you never know these days. Awesome videos!!

33% vs 50% is often times just personal preference in design look. However if tile is bowed a little than the 33% is the better option to minimize lippage. My opinion.

i never see the nitch schluters facing right and left, instead they are always outwards . There's no right or wrong but I personally think its to chunky seeing them outwards and always run mine opposite to where you only see about 1/8 of the metal. I think its slightly harder doing it my way but I like the look. Have you ever done them that way?

Yes, but now we install 100% waterproof niches, so we don't need the sill to stick out for avoiding water capillary action.

How do you get those annoying bits of plastic from the levelling clips out of the joints? Stanley knife? I love the levelling systems but those can be a real pain when they don't always break fully away

Try to avoid getting adhesive built up around it which not always easy , happens when too much adhesive underneath and we press down and squashes up , its going to happen unless wall is really good and flat , but yes good sharp Stanley blade but they blunt fast

@@LandbergTileTV when had to cut out around the toilet flange. I have a saw blade on my side grinder and it tends to break a lot of tile. Your blade looks a lot thinner.
