I love this beautiful plant, and it is one of the easiest plant to root and propagate from cuttings. I hope you guys enjoy and can propagate your own. This plant can be propagated by just putting it in water or in soil. I find the soil method works best as the water method you have to watch the water or the roots can rot easily. Then the roots once develop in water is a little fragile to put in soil. If you directly put in soil, then its a easier to just pop into the ground. Thank you for watching and your support.

This is the best instructional video on how to propagate angel trumpets from cuttings. Thank you for being so detailed.

Nice Alocasia as well. They're nightshades, so they root just as easily as tomato and potato plants. Cuts on soft body plants don't callus like woody plants and become entry ways for fungus, or insects. We never encourage cutting them unless it is to save the plant. All aroids contain raphides which are needle like crystals in the plant's tissue, which can be an irritant. If ingested raw, can result in respiratory, and digestive problems.

Just came across your video and subscribed love your explaining and showing. I love the trumpets and the elephant ears. So beautiful the green foliage of the elephant ear. I just ordered a cutting for the angel trumpet (peaches and cream) and just put into jar of water to root. But like your method of just putting into the dirt. Very nice plants. Thanks for sharing. Peace and Love ❤️

Hi gr8 video, jis found you- I’m trying to grow Angels Trumpet now (zone 8b) but its now November & I should have probably waited til Spring bc I have no where to overwinter it so I’m growing it inside & we’ll see (its roughly a wee bit bigger now than your cuttings). Anyway I have to ask, at 13:21 what are those 3 large bushy beautiful plants way out in your yard on the far right? Georgous! I’m in South Carolina so our climate may be similar!? I see you kept your Angels Trumpet outside (I was afraid to do that with mine-new to this!) Gah. Lol. Any tips would be appreciated & please, if you have a minute, let me know what those beautiful blooming bushy plants are out there? Climate here is coastal & humid during summer (salty air, sandy soil I guess!?) also I’m in a condo so must container garden :( ㎰ Your Elephants ear is amazing! Thanks in advance! Beautiful Garden!!!

Hi. Thank you for stopping by. Lol I always have to bring all my plants and cutting inside when winter hits. Just give them some water and a little sunlight. But they will survive. The 3 bush is the lime light panicle hydrangeas. They are beautiful and worth every penny. I just recently moved to Alabama zone 7b but yes. We were in same hardy zone. They will die back every year and grown up new grom ground if you plant outside. Just give it enough mulch.lol those elephant ears take sooo much space! Ha ha. But pretty. I had 4 different variety of trumpet but lost one and only have 2 now. Good luck with yours.

I think you need to replant your elephant ears or give it the whole planter box. It’s a lovely plant and needs to spread its “ears”and grow to be its beautiful self. Hydrangea needs lots of water and a shady position. There might be too much competition from the other plants who are using the plant resources in the planter box.

Thanks for a great video ,,just wondering I took cutting off mine but have them in water to root so once rooted I will pot them up do you bring them in the house over winter and water them ,iam in zone 8b Vancouver bc
@simplegardening6196
@simplegardening6196 Год назад
Water works great but when I pot them up, the roots are really fragile and some get damage so I find it easier for me to just stick them in roiling right off the bat. Zone 8 is great for them as they will die back and come back for you every year. Just make sure to mulch them up well. I put mine in garage or if it's my only cutting and I would put them inside house to give them the extra tlc. 🥰 good luck with yours.

I have just gotten my first bare root plant in the mail along with 30 seeds. The bare root has taken off growing, but I only had 6 out of 30 of the seeds to sprout. What do I need to do special when I transplant from the seed cups? I am in zone 7A
@simplegardening6196
@simplegardening6196 Год назад
Hi. I have not grown from seed but make sure it has roots before you transfer. They don't require special care as they are pretty hardy. Just make sure you adapt them to sunlight if they are not already before placing them in their forever home. Good luck!!!

@@simplegardening6196 I have them under a grow light right now and plan to put a fan on them to harden them off prior to re potting them. A lady that I gave some seeds to said that hers hadn’t rooted good yet so I will wait another few weeks to let them take root before transplanting them.

@simplegardening6196
@simplegardening6196 8 месяцев назад
Hi. I google your growing zone. It dayd abbotsford zone 8b, which means you can leave them outside. They will die back in the winter and come up fresh from the ground each year. Just give it enough mulch to cover the base so they don't freeze in the ground.

@simplegardening6196
@simplegardening6196 Год назад
Yes!!!! Easiest thing to take cutting and root. They can do full sun or part sun and shade is. I am in zone 7b now too. And they thrive for me. I will do a quick update this weekend on them. They are starting to give pods for flowers.😍😍😍 easy to grow...you can do it. Eventually I would like to sell my cuttings.
@simplegardening6196
@simplegardening6196 Год назад
P.s. they will die back, but just mulch it well, and it will send new shoots every year. I am going to bring mine indoors this year to see if I can train it into tree form. If your in clay soil. Make sure it can drain.

Do you leave them in the ground in zone 8b winter?
@simplegardening6196
@simplegardening6196 Год назад
Yes!!! I recently moved to zone 7b and I left them in the ground when I transplanted them. I just do a good mulch layer over their roots system. They die back but comes back healthy. If you want the tree form. I recommend planting in pot and taking them inside on cold days so it can keep the form. This way they don't die all the way back. I hope to have at least 4 variety next spring!!!

We had a huge Brugmansia in our garden when we were kids. Back in the 70's we didn't know it was poisonous, and my brother and I used to pull the flowers off and pretended to be playing a trumpet, and zip happened to us. People nowadays irritate me with the stuff they hear and read on the Internet, and then troll all over the Internet saying "ooh this plant is poisonous". But yet they stuff their faces with McDonald's and they don't give two hoots about obesity and the health complications that drugs, cigarettes, and alcoholic abuse instigate. Anyway, who in their right mind would walk into someone else's garden, and start munching on the shrubs, and plants. Moreover, even guava trees are considered "invasive species" nowadays. As far as I'm concerned the biggest invasive species that this planet has ever encountered are human beings!!!
